The first mission had me at the edge of my seat!! I wasn't sure if you would make it or not!! Bravo making it through, cant wait to watch the next episode.
Breaking convention, but you want something that sounds badass and related to carbon. In this case, I'm suggesting Carbon Steel, or Carbon's Steel. I would find it thematic for Clanners, given their "We're the best, gene spliced super humans created for war, OMG Kerensky you my heeeero" attitude.
"The Carbon Conglomerate" - since that's what you always do with mech parts & even pilots & lance configurations on occasion.. Alternatively, '"Carbon Ash(es)", since that's usually how you leave planetary environments, hostiles & their pilots upon mission completion (esp with flamers/inferno barrages etc) :) Not alliterative, but /very/ descriptive.. & potentially intimidating if you care to promote that trait among your pilots :)
Knowing how much you like to use heat, I suggest the name "Carbon's Crispers", because you're going to make LOTS of crispy critters! Or, maybe Carbon's Clan Killers.
Little late to the party but I made it! Started a clan run on 3062.....would love the mechs bara got lol! My starting mechs are 2 locusts, a clint, an icarus, and an urbie. The urbie has the most firepower but it takes forever to get into the fight. I got wrecked on a half skull mission. The enemy had 2 adders, a cougar with a uac5, and a shadow cat with a guass. I got murdered pretty quickly. Even with maxed armor and swapping some better weapons I just couldn't do enough damage. So I lick my wounds and repair. Try again. First lance is 4 tanks so I take them out but both locusts took heavy damage because both pilots can't hit anything despite level 6 gunnery. The main lance ended up being 2 lbx carrying kit foxes.......yeah pretty much same result. Actually I could have won...urbie vs kit fox....urbie was performing like a champ....his ac 10 couldn't miss ......so ofcourse it misses the final shot to win the match...
I've just watched all the BattleTech DLC videos. Any idea where I should go next on the channel? Watching this episode, I feel I've missed a lot. Not 100% up on the lore either, is there "Non- Clan" stuff I can get a bead on first?
I have been playing a clan start and it is exceedingly difficult. I have one half skull planet (I switched to planetary) and have salvaged some Kit Foxes, but I feel I just can't get enough money to get ahead (~650K per month in costs). Assembling the mechs from scrap cost as much as they sell for and there is no weapons or equipment extra when I put the chassis into storage after assembly. I need to do cash in missions half the time to just stay afloat, I do have 6 x XL engines which sell for $585K as an emergency fund. Not sure if I have set the game up wrong or just hard work in the clan area. Most missions I am greatly outnumbered, out gunned and out meched if that makes sense.
@@T0tenkampf True but he has a Medium Griffin, and if hes lucky with salvage he can easily replace the Mongoose easily. But for the rest it not a bad start.
@@EnablingBarley if that was a 55 to griffin then i would agree. I started with 2 mongoose in a comstar start and even at max evasion they get rekt so much that repairs stunt your growth. Clan starts seem tough but yeah you can upgrade quickly if you live.
Thinking along the lines of a more military name, my suggestions: "Carbon Warfare" or "Carbon Coalition" But my favorite that came to mind would be: The Triple C "Carbon's Combatant Command"
Crusaders, Champions, Chaos , Chosen Ones, Conquerors, Collective, Compadres, Cowboys, Coyotes, Cougars. Any of these might be good. But I think Carbon Crusaders or Carbon Cowboys might be nice.
How about 2-in-1, name and some RPG element: Carbon's ComStarCrushers? Somehow your main character didn't like ComStar and want to destroy everything connected to ComStar
Name your company "Carbon's Copies" and just run around with a bunch of the same mechs.
That would be a great playthrough.
