  • Details: Today we are learning an introduction to "Grooving." This is what I like to say is the "Dance behind the dance." Although very simple it does take some time to get used to. Take your time, be patient with yourself and share it with a friend.

    thank you! as a beginning dancer this has greatly improved my dancing. I don't know why I always counted steps in my head and made me lose my place at times but with this head movement that's one less thing I have to worry about and focus more on my dancing. now everything flows much better and smoother! thank you for your knowledge!!!

    Dope video, I was amazed when I took up locking how much basic dancing I lacked as a bboy.
    As well as this groove, bboys should definitely practice the down-rhythm groove. If you watch Asian heads like All Area Crew, they all use down-rhythm groove and it looks so funky.

    Is there a difference berween the groove in hip-hop and breaking? This always interested me. Because hip-hop is literally based on grooves, however in breaking I didn't see that somebody actually stressed that grooves are as important.

    • @EvilPeppermintHelix
      @EvilPeppermintHelix 9 лет назад +1

      zavodovsky_s yes the groove is up, you hit the beat on the up not the down, basically it's the opposite of rock'n'rolls groove.

    • @VincaniTV
      @VincaniTV  9 лет назад +1

      There is many different grooves this is just the basic of it. If you look up Soul Train you will see where many of the grooves originated out of but yes they are important to know for bboying.
