I had never heard of racing an FC or FE until I bumped into a bloke at the Holden Trafalgar Museum who said he used to race one in Tassie. He is the bloke who nearly ran his green HQ off the Tasman Bridge when it was knocked over by a ship. He still has that HQ that was only new at the time of the accident... quite a character. Nice looking car, the FC/FE although not quite aerodynamic.
Good Aussie fun, you must be very proud mate. Great job. Look's just like Yellow Cab orange. Did you see their old one at Deshen St in Brissie. Love it. GMH lives on, Grey motor and all.
Yellow Cabs Brisbane was owned by Neil Ford back in the '80s when he decided to recreate an FE & an FC pair of taxis. We supplied parts for both cars. Thanks for letting us know at least one of those cars has survived.
Absolutely sweet FC😊 New Subscriber #184 and we hit the bell🙂 Cheers 🍺🍻KC Cradle Mountain Tasmania Australia 🇦🇺🇦🇺🤝🇦🇺🇦🇺😎👍 We also build miniatures of your cars or Racecars Happy Days👊
Mate , What engine and what gear box has it got ? I have had 4 of them you buy one running for $100 not running $10 back when I was 18 and 19 now 72 and I still like them
Has to have Grey power & original crash box under Group N rules. He says Grey has "Twin Webers" which isn't ideal but easier to tune for most folks. You're 10 years ahead of me. I paid big money for my first FC back in '78 when I was turning 16. She set me back 30 bucks! Have always loved them, still have 2 good solid sedans & 5 rusty wrecks including 2 utes.
I lived close to Warwick farm NSW and lots of locals had race cars, a car that was close to this was Steve Hatchers FC who was from Boundry Rd Liverpool Cnr Gill Avenue,, it was i think a repco grey or a hot 186,, orange, and another was herb taylors beige EH race car from Moorebank,, FC needs a motor,,, go see hurcules engines.
How would that car go if it had a 179 motor with a 149 head on it ? In the seventies you couldnt catch them [ FC to EK's had some of those engines tricked up by the Lads in that era ]
I have one I'd consider selling. You'll need a fair chunk even if I pull my engine out of it. Has ball joints & discs, EK Hydramatic transmission tunnel, VK Borg Warner 5 speed on a fabricated rear crossmember, powder coated front subframe, locked HR rear end with the wider drums & about a zillion bucks worth of other goodies. A stock Blue Meanie couldn't stay with it. Leave a reply if you're serious about a good solid FC.
The man is living his dream, how many if us can say we have done that? He isn't racing anyone, he's pacing himself, and I bet he his smiling like the Cheshire cat.
Best sounding series motor I’ve ever heard 😮 love it! I drove an fc for twenty years great ole beater. 👍🏼🇦🇺
There's more enjoyment to be had from this video than watching a V8 Supercars race.

Car looks great.
In these days of rare decent FC's it almost seems criminal to race one.

Lovely, lovely car.
Seems a bit, eerrm, slow?
Sounds nice and crackly, but...
Is this car for sale ?

Terrible driver
You idiot, he spent a lot of money on that car and you don't just go hammer it. You get a feel for it and make sure the oil stays in etc.
