    I’m finally getting it after 4 years. I get symptoms and the first thing I wanna do is ask why and fix but I have to just pause…. Pause what I’m doing, pause the thoughts and just recommit to the knowledge that I’m ok there’s no real danger in what I’m doing and I’m not made of paper mache 🤣then I resume the activity and the pain literally stops. I found if I “talk” to my brain or try to reason with it that makes it worse. Simply noticing the sensation and moving through it and focusing on something else knowing I’m not damaging myself or in harms way has just been the best approach. It does take bravery because you absolutely have to be willing to experience your symptoms and painful ones at times in order to move past it

      👏💪👊. I resonate well with your response. When they get intense you have to raise your level of commitment to take them on but once you do this successfully it can become an aha moment.

      Brilliant comment. Yes, sometimes trying too hard to talk to the brain to convince it of something just keeps the brain on high alert. Beautiful.

      @@Moonless6491 no I only discovered Dan a year or so ago but I was in pain for 4 years. I still fight the symptom imperative because fear is my knee jerk reaction when I have a new area of pain or a flare of old but nothing remains chronic. I might have a flare up of something for a few days but calm reassurance Keeps it from hanging around forever

    Thanks Dan, I just lost my husband 3 weeks ago and my world fell apart , the pain had been getting so much better then boom . Obviously there are do many emotions when you lose someone so suddenly with no warnings. There is grief but there is also worries about how you will cope financially etc . I've had 3 weeks to get my head round stuff now and in the long run I will be fine, the pain has subsided back to a manageable level and I'm getting on with the funeral arrangements. I will be saying my final farewell to my soul mate on 1st September and then , life must go on , I must go on and I intend to do so and I will best this TMS xx❤

    Such an achievement Dan, thank you for your dedication and commitment to helping others on their journeys out of pain. I am one of your success stories, yesterday i was on my feet the whole day, walking in busy, humid central London, busy and active, totally engaged in what I was doing - I was happily exhausted by the end of the day. Doing this a year ago would have been a challenge, a couple of years ago unthinkable. My daily Dan fix was the key to recovery for me. Cant thank you enough. My best wishes and congratulations to you.

      Dan, what a crowning achievement🎉! Your altruism is genuine and boundless. This bravery topic hits home. Can you please clarify something: if you have a mix of a PDP issue in, say, the low back, with no physical justification, then this is where bravery comes in to overcome that pain? What if your body throws an adjacent area into disabling pain, (say a leg), and you believe it was a warning that there is a chronic deterioration of which you were unaware that caused a very real disabling defect requiring serious surgery to prevent further disability? Is pain from the “warning area “ (e.g, leg) treated as PDP? Is pain from the serious, worsening defect to be treated separately as an acute issue (although it derived from a chronic condition)?

    • @suem.3651
      @suem.3651 Год назад +1

      @PainFreeYou  Год назад +1

      @@suem.3651 My recommendation would be to do an evaluation of each pain location to see if the pain is behaving like a structural issue or PDP / TMS. Take the pain test for each area. If it shows 29 or above, it's TMS and not any deterioration.

Funny thing is I learned more about anxiety by going through this but I also developed a new symptom... headache with eye pain. Sadly, the list just seems to get longer. Very wise and powerful message.
    Yes moving from being effect to be a be more at cause over the reactive mind it's definitely the right step.
    Practice should raise the confront.
    I think one important tool when in emotional pain is a long walk if one can do it. Forcing to really pay attention to the surrounding.
    From my understanding often the pain is associated to past memories and incidents and we are kind of unconsciously stuck there in time.
    So long walk or phisical activities like cleaning thoroughly an house for example can move us in the present and remove some of the attentions that are stuck there and gives pain.
    That's at least what I understood by reading certain books from a wise man. He wrote them in the 50's.

    • @seafabian66
      @seafabian66 Год назад

      About confront I read that what one confront eventually one can handle and things not admired tends to persist...

    • @seafabian66
      @seafabian66 Год назад

      Also consider that things in the environment that resemble things located in past traumas can trigger that incident containing the pain or painful emotions and the unconscious mind see it as danger as it cannot differentiate...
      So if our environment some time seems to overwhelm consider time to time to change it so to give yourself a break.
      Just wanted to share some of the knowledge I learned through some books I read.
      I'm still myself keeping learning in an attempt to overcome this.
      I'm in the same boat.
      Wish you the best to everyone

    So very true, Dan. Considering joining the group. I mentioned this a few videos back. I was assaulted when I was 11 in the month of August, had another similar incident at 15. And my dad died in August from cancer. Had a trauma crash with CFS symptoms (and pain, shoulder one side, neck on the other - radiates down the arms, chest...and these symptoms just came on shortly after the crash...with no physical activity besides not being able to sleep and and tossing and turning in sleep). Only thing ever confirmed so far is a larger kidney stone...still waiting to pass. Started to slowly get better and do better with safety etc watching you and others. Then August came about and everything came back hardcore along with varying facial and head tingling/sensations/pressure (but no headache)...but always leaves at night. Went to GP today and told him everything...and that i was scared (PDP much?). I asked if we need to do x rays/ct scan/mri etc for anything. He took it all in (bless him, he spends tons of time with his patients) and sat back and said I don't think any of that is necessary. If i had the slightest idea that we might need that I would order any or all of them. We could try lyrica etc but I dont really think that's it either. I just think it is your nervous system. And somehow that needs tuned down. Just really struggling with fatigue, especially in my legs, and how it seems to present in my head with those tingling/sensations, ibs, and the coming and going pain symptoms.

    What I am intrigued about, since I began 2 years ago, getting acquainted with the TMS subject is that, when I begin to walk and the pain begins, I slow down for 10/20 minutes and the pain diminishes and recides a lot and I get to increase the pace of the walk almost in the pace I wished, I get so relieved and very proud of myself and very happy I celebrate my victory and thank the heavens ! But in the following hours and day I remember that the pain had receided maybe because the muscle around the nerve had warmed up - inspite of my, so to speak, bravery - and not necessarily because I applied the strategy of TMS adequately....anyway....The next day when the pain reappears an overwelming feeling of dismal failure broods over and I can't help blaming myself for maybe having abused too much of my body ... sorry if I look whining ... keep fighting. ( I know I shouldn't use this term 'fighting' but I can't help it). My drama is that - although I'm able to swim without almost any pain, I need to walk to help me overcome depression ...

      You are not whining. However, everything about the fears is based on this being a body problem, not TMS. You cannot abuse your body with a brisk walk. Symptoms flaring is evidence of the brain perceiving danger. The body is perfectly fine. If it is a pinched nerve what do i do? I am yelping and swearing all the time and when i sit for more than a few mins my back has seized up and then spasms everytime i step up or down with my left leg which is the leg i was putting in my jeans when it all pulled and twisted.

      My pain all began bending over to put on my underwear. It was never an injury. The body is not that easily injured. Learn about the real cause of pain. Perceived danger. Putting on your jeans did not injure your body. An acute onset of TMS/Perceived Danger Pain (PDP) feels like an injury, even though it's not.

    Apparently emotions are in a scale on the bottom there is apaty and on the top enthusiasm and in between there are all the others like fear and pain etc.

    Congrats for the 1600th video💝Amazing work. What about people on thyroid medications (hypothyroidism)? Should they decrease? Can they stop 1 day? What is your take on this? Thank you.

    • @PainFreeYou
      @PainFreeYou  Год назад +1

      Since I am not a doctor, I cannot make medication recommendations. However, according to medical opinion, Stress may exacerbate an underlying thyroid condition. For example, say hypothyroidism runs in your family. Under stress, your body releases the hormone cortisol. Too much cortisol can interfere with thyroid hormone production: It can stimulate the thyroid to work harder to create sufficient amounts of thyroid hormone.
      That said, there is ZERO downside to undertaking a process like I recommend of teaching the brain we are safe and lowering our time in fight or flight.

    • @PainFreeYou
      @PainFreeYou  Год назад +1

      Yes, I'm not sure it is quite an addiction, but more of a habit. And since the brains job is to keep us safe and alive, many of our negative thoughts are just warnings from a brain perceiving danger.
