মধ্যযুগে নদিয়া অঞ্চলের এক বিখ্যাত বিদূষক ছিলেন গোপাল চন্দ্র প্রামাণিক ওরফে গোপাল ভাঁড়। অষ্টাদশ শতাব্দীতে তাঁর সততা, সাহস এবং বুদ্ধিমত্তার কারণে রাজা কৃষ্ণচন্দ্র তাঁকে নবরত্ন হিসাবে তাঁর রাজসভায় নিযুক্ত করেছিলেন। যদিও তাঁর অস্তিত্ব নিয়ে অনেকেই সন্দিহান কিন্তু তবুও বাংলার ঘরে ঘরে লোক-কথার মধ্যে দিয়ে গোপাল ভাঁড়ের জীবন-রস সমৃদ্ধ গল্পগুলি আবাহমান কাল ধরে স্বমহিমায় টিকে আছে।
আমরা অমল শূরের পরিচালনায় বেবী জুন প্রোডাকসন্স-এর গোপাল ভাঁড় সিনেমাটিতে অনুপ্রাণিত হয়ে সামান্য কিছু নতুন কাজ করার চেষ্টা করেছি। গোপাল ভাঁড়ের ছোট ছোট গল্পগুলি থেকে কিছু সামাজিক বার্তা দেওয়াই আমাদের মূল উদ্দেশ্য। সুখ-দুঃখের মাঝেও গোপাল ভাঁড় বহু সমস্যা সমাধানের পথ দেখিয়েছেন। আসুন আমারাও বাস্তবতার সাথে লড়াই করি এবং তাৎক্ষণিক বুদ্ধিমত্তার প্রয়োগ করে জীবনের পথে এগিয়ে চলি।

Gopal Chandra Pramanik, a.k.a. Gopal Bhar, was a famous comic entertainer of the Nadia region in medieval times. In the 18th century, King Krishnachandra appointed him to his royal court as Navaratna for his honesty, courage, and wit. Although many people are skeptical about his existence, Gopal Bhar's life-rich stories, told through the folk tales of Bengal, have survived in glory for centuries.
We tried to make new creations inspired by Baby June Productions' Gopal Bhar film directed by Amal Sur. Our main objective is to impart social messages through Gopal Bhar's short stories. Amidst happiness and sorrow, Gopal Bhar has shown ways to solve problems. Let us also face the reality and move forward by implementing our presence of mind.
