Visiting a large, reasonably priced sale like that is always a thrill. It's a pleasant contrast to the over-priced thrift and antique store records that we all seem to run into way too often nowadays.
Great video, absolutely ! You are really catching a gear, and getting invisible at the same time ! Hehe 😄 Will be cool to see your upcoming mega haul. It's awesome that you stumbled on to it ! Later, dude.. ✌️
@@VinylHunter We are hard core brothers of the road !! JC hits it pretty good too, and T Cat goes out a lot, and has good luck ! That invisible segment was fantastic ! Cool !! 💨
“A Study In Terror” @12:05 is a good one. I have it as part of my Halloween vinyl collection. “Cat People” is an incredible soundtrack if you don’t have it already-one of my favorites. Absolutely love “The Trip” soundtrack, great find! I love Tomita too-have a lot of his records. I literally laughed out loud with the video game sound effects for Dr. Zhivago and South Pacific 😂 Happy New Year! 🎉🎶👍
Happy New Year Tuco and another great video. Loving the spooky invisible man special effects too. Some really nice finds, that Big trouble.. Nice Some of those Hop Hop 12ins were unreal in the flick thru.. I was trying to grab some of those for myself 😂 And absolutely super priced. Can't wait to see the new amazing haul you've been teasing us with 🤘😀🤘
Great video Very entertaining as usual!!!Man I was bummed at first when you couldn't find your record..glad you did And can't wait for that dig of a lifetime I've been trying hard for that sir lord album just a great find for 3 bucks Cheers!!!!
Thank you! Now, if i could only get the last handful of boxes of records from my brothers house, i can get my big record shelves full and looking presentable, and i can shoot some videos in front of them like in my early videos!
Happy New Year! I hope 2023 brings you many grails and fun discoveries. Finding it in the L section could be a simple mistake or someone wanted it, didn’t have the $, so they ‘hid’ it and hope to come back with some cash.
LOL at the Dr. Zhivago/South Pacific video game sound effects. AFter those boxes of hip hop and you started looking at the $0.50 box of the usual thrift store oldies, you should have said "Back in my wheelhouse!" 😈
That was an impressive assortment of hip hop singles. Some of those OG hip hop singles and albums are difficult to find. Not saying they're necessarily worth a lot, but my OG Wu-Tang albums, Notorious BIG, Hieroglyphics, and A Tribe Called Quest, can sometimes go for more than you'd expect. That John Klemmer is a pretty good find as well. Pretty cool video!
I'll start out by wishing you a Happy New Year finding vinyl! ...Never heard of that John Carpenter soundtrack LP you scored but checking out discogs it looks very interesting and up my alley! ..."The Trip" LP is a 60's soundtrack classic too! Just about anything on Sidewalk Records is super! ...I don't do rap/disco/R&B/etc 12" stuff but I do have a crate full of that junk tucked away for the right person as I know nothing about them. (Most came in large lots of LPs I purchased years ago). Forgive me for fast-forwarding past those two 12" sections of your video - they just went on and on! ...Do love Tomita (and Kitaro!) - never saw that one though but it will come my way eventually! ...Awaiting your mega-haul of 5-star garage & psych LPs now!
Happy New Year, Tuco, and lots of great records there including many cool soundtracks. 8:40 'Twilight Zone: The Movie' is a great soundtrack by Jerry Goldsmith. Track 2, 'The Overture' is excellent with an overview of all of the various themes in the movie and track 7, 'Nightmare At 20,000 Feet' is particularly fantastic and intense in many ways like some of the best tracks heard in his scores for 'Poltergeist' or 'The Secret of N.I.M.H.'
A great way to wake up to a lazy New Years Day! For personal reasons, I woulda grabbed that JJ Fad album - golden era female trio that was all over Yo MTV Raps for a short while. As always, thanks for the video!
Hi Tuco!!! so cool to see you grabbing that soundtrack you were looking after, in the "L's"!!!!! it has to be misfilled. Seeing the artwork i do remember the movie, fun one from back in the days..... I don't know if you're familiar with Jason Skilz channel, he's into everything and know a lot about old school rap and hip hop, maybe you could ask him. cheers and be well
I would've been in hip-hop/R&B heaven looking through that record collection! There were so many records I would've grabbed in a heartbeat (Eminem's "Encore," Bell Biv Devoe, Outkast's "Roses," Destiny's Child, Busta Rhymes, etc.) I was yelling at the screen "Grab that one!" so many times! Then again, you'd probably do the same to me if I was going through an exotica/psyche collection 😅 Edit: I'm super jealous of that Daft Punk "Digital Love" single, but I'm happy you grabbed that one! One of my all-time favorite tracks!
I've been discovering lately that I really dig Randy Newman! I'll have to look into that one! Have you ever watched Monk? Randy Newman does the theme song. There's an episode where Snoop Dogg guest stars and performs the theme song! OMG, it's great!!!
I'm usually there! You're one of my favorite channels...i watch yours more than most others! The thing is, i do most of my video watching when I'm at the point of exhaustion from doing other stuff...so i lay on my couch and watch them on the tv. But often i get lazy about commenting.
...Oh boy! You've passed a NAS record on that Old School Pop up record sale!!!! That is a grail! His first record "Ilmatic" was voted in 2022 as best Hip Hop record on hip hop history!
Been to a lot of record stores in midwest and homers has been a favorite never leave there empty handed fair prices for a record store too lots of good thrift stores in old market..
It looked like there was a fair bit of early 90's EDM mixed in with the late 80's/early 90's hip-hop at that pop-up. I did spot a Relief Records sticker on one record, pretty much every release on that label goes for $50+ these days.
I dont know, depending on how far the store was I might have attempted to verify if the album swap actually happened. If it did, see if the store would've corrected it. Doesn't cost anything (except fuel and time) to ask. ...at the very least, it's another opportunity to rummage through the records.😊 Happy New Year!🎈🎊🎉🎈
Many years ago I bought probably around 2 thousand rap lps for about 100 bucks. Donated half for the tag Break and kept what I knew. There were Michael and Janet Jackson, Madonna, Rolling Stones stuck in there Too I have about 6-700 left. Eminem, DMX, Ice Cube, etc
You skipped SVEN VATH, LAURENT GARNIER "Crispy Bacon" 12" ( This red version I do not find on Discogs! I found a white promo copy for sale for 35 Dollars. This with the red label may be also a promo! ), Members Of Mayday ( 10in1 a 10 Dollar record at least ) I regret that I was not digging with you there in these records! I had directly taken Sven Väth, Laurent Garnier and Members Of Mayday! Friendly greetz my vinyl brother!
World Destruction Meltdown Remix. That must be a VERY collectible item! John Lydon (Sex pistols-PIL) & Africa Bambaata (the Father of Rap!) hand by hand!
Heya mate, I actually think you did well not to go too mad with the rap as alot is quite average from what I saw. Especially 12"s not so rare I have some rap/hip hop but I'm not an expert, there was alot of random dance including euro dance/techno in there too. Sven Vath I saw quite cool German ambient maybe some a bit dated these days. Bizzare what resurfaces as cooler now than back then. Ok cheers, Martin.
I'm still trying to figure out how I'm going to do that. I HATE the process of selling online....too much like work!...but i have been thinking about it though. Toying with several ideas: live sale on youtube...discogs store...live auction on youtube. I'm not hurting for money, so it's very low priority for me. I'm leaning towards the youtube sale...if i do a whole bunch at once, it wouldn't be so much like "work", it'd be like ripping a band-aid off quickly! 🤣😂🤣
Gonna watch this.. going digging at Bill's, and helping shovel.. big dump ( snow ). over New Years ! Happy 2023 Tuco ! 💫
