Spot on analysis. Jeep/Dodge went upmarket in pricing when their quality remained mediocre and the alternatives were better priced, higher quality and/or more luxurious. Some poor strategic planning going on. And now they have the UAW BS contract around their necks. They could stop production for a year to sell off dealer inventory and then move production to Mexico for less costs and a more commited work force.
The Wrangler price has increased avg 48.6% from 2018-2023. A pathetic 10% off MSRP factory discount doesn't cut it. My 2017 Wrangler JKU was $33,617. To get the same options/configuration in a 2024 Wrangler JLU would cost me $59,300. lol. Big hard PASS.

We drove grand cherokees for over 20 years. When we could no longer get a V8 grand for under 60 thousand, we walked away. We now have a sedan and are happy with our choice. I will not pay $60 grand for a vehicle. I want to retire someday. The vehicle industry quit selling us on total cost years ago and started selling us on payments. "What payment are you wanting?" They will finance you for a decade if you are willing. The cost of lost buying power and earning compound interest for yourself will keep you broke forever.

We bought our 2008 grand Cherokee 4x4 trailer hitch, moon roof, leather heated seats a year old used for $21,000 back in 2009. It has now 75,000 miles on it. Only had to change the radiator because the tank separated and last summer the passenger side wheel bearing. And that’s it. We have no plans on trading or selling it. New ones are twice the price with no options. What are they thinking!
I just looked at Jeep Wrangler prices at my local CDJR dealer and couldn't believe what they are asking for them. The most expensive was a Rubicon 392 with a MSRP of $100,025, and they had a massive discount of $500 with another $1000 Jeep cash back. I heard people are lined up around the block for a chance to buy it.
"We thought after years of shafting the customers they would continue to bend over, who could have seen that they would get fed up of our gouging scams?"
The CHEROKEE is discontinued. My local dealership, Crown Chrysler/Jeep/RAM/Dodge has no Cherokee's, 300s, Hornets, and Pacifica's.
Wait! Did you say $139K??
You gotta be kidding!
Haaaaaaaaaiiiiiilllllll NO!
Yes it’s no lie, but it is CAN funds
About $103,000 US. Still completely crazy!
Nope. I still have to buy milk today.
sounds good
You should do a walk thru at a subaru and mazda dealer to compare.
Msrp on jeep has gone up by over 50% since 2019, seems they should cut prices by half to me. And yes I'm aware they'll never do that but it does highlight how much these little 5 to 10% off they're pushing now is a joke. They want Lexus prices for fix it again Tony quality and no ones biting.
I agree, this 2 or 3 k off is an insult
The longer they sit the more they rust away.
You're so spot on! These vehicle prices are ridiculous.
I didn’t know at first these prices were Canadian but the US prices are still insane.
Silly prices indeed
I find it telling you have to wipe the dust off the windows to see the sticker price.
If you're paying attention you know now is not the time to be jumping into a new set on monthly payments.
All of those vehicles should be at least $15k less
Canadian dollars 😂😂😂you should have started with that.
Thanks
Jeep and Stellantis will be going out of business. Will serve them right. They have screwed people over in the past 20 years. I got screwed a few times between buying Chrysler and Fiat products. I'm not ever setting foot on ANY of their dealerships. I'm going to sit and watch them go down.
They may go down in flames at this rate. They gotta get back to reasonable proces
Out of touch wealthy CEOs.
Tim Kuniskis is Out Of Touch and Out Of His Mind
Keep ignoring the Chrysler brand and the entire system will fail.
My car payment would be more than my rent, I don't think so.
What ever happened to freedom of choice? Incase you didn’t know In The US we have an open market the folks will dictate if these businesses will survive or fail… so be thankful we still live in a place that if you don’t like it you don’t have to buy it…
They are not going to discount/rebate them 25%. No way. They will send them to auction before they do that.
Things were bad enough when FCA (Fiat) ran the company....now with Stellantis (Peugeot) running it, they're doomed. They are ruining Alfa Romeo as well. Total idiots running this company.
The cost of lost buying power and earning compound interest for yourself will keep you broke forever.
we have no money your credit is maxed and now credit scores are crashing. mine dropped 27 points when only thing changed was credit usage went up 5% to 40%.
Strange things indeed
139k for a Wagoneer. And I thought the land cruiser was bad...
The new 2024 LandCruiser base price is $57,000. I think they will undersell everyone and finally bring these prices down.
Add a ten year payment plan and see if people will hop on lol. Consumers are suckers. Good channel you have. I enjoy your perspective.
You forgot to say $86K Plus Sales Tax Registration and License Fee
The floor plan interest expense for those dealers has to be astronomical
There is a sucker born every minute.this can go on indefinitely
That Lot Looks Like My 2 Local Jeep Dealer! Simply Loaded Up With Inventory! Thanks For Your Report! Much Truth To This!
Unbelievable
We bought our 2008 grand Cherokee 4x4 trailer hitch, moon roof, leather heated seats a year old used for $21,000 back in 2009. It has now 75,000 miles on it. Only had to change the radiator because the tank separated and last summer the passenger side wheel bearing. And that’s it. We have no plans on trading or selling it. New ones are twice the price with no options. What are they thinking!
They can keep every one of them.
Here in vermont g Cherokee altitude is around 50,000 plus taxes
Literally insane prices
I agree
They should have a class action lawsuit for price gouging and consumer fraud
ALL PRICED OUT OF CONTROL END OF DAYS
I had a 1997 Wrangler Sahara brand new. Paid $26,000 for it. This is getting ridiculous.
Thanks for sharing and I also had a TJ wrangler a bunch of years ago and bought it 2 years old with 30k and got it for 12 k in the day
$136K for a Grand Wagoneer🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
$60k... TOPS!!!!
Whens tat last one you saw on the streets? I think I have only ever seen one in the wild and it had a business plate, probably dealer plates.
@@markholubetz Maybe 2! I know I saw one last year on vacation. It was nice but not that nice!!!
They don’t sell what customers actually want. A two door Gladiator priced around $30k would sell like crazy.
I want a diesel with a 6spd
Yep well said! You nailed it!
Grand Cherokee should be around 40K.
Haha that’s what’s causing this price crisis
"We thought after years of shafting the customers they would continue to bend over, who could have seen that they would get fed up of our gouging scams?"
Lincoln dealership missing in my city.
They are almost everywhere
The CHEROKEE is discontinued. My local dealership, Crown Chrysler/Jeep/RAM/Dodge has no Cherokee's, 300s, Hornets, and Pacifica's. They are a big dealership, that has been around for fifty years in Ventura, California. My recently purchased 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit (Hemi) is flawless, with no complaints about quality.
Exactly they are phasing some vehicles out and the Cherokee does not have the margins that you find on the grand cherokees
@jamesmyers9285 That is also my experience EXACTLY! All the clowns on this string saying Jeeps are junk are either ignorant or just haters. Jeeps ARE overpriced now but they are solid cars - owned 6 Jeep GCs over the last 38 years none of them let me down.
@@Mandolin1944The GC has only been around since 1993.
@@WoodgemanX Ssc
Typo on my part. I have owned/leased six Grand Cherokee's since 2004. @@WoodgemanX
Very good video. And I agree, the number one issue is the price.
Thank you
Hope Stellantis goes out of business for selling overpriced endless money pits rolling piles of junk. 😊
Im starting to 24’ Wranglers on the road and im floored at whos buying these. Legitimately that 4xe is 23k more than my 22’ Mojave was brand new and I very close to fully loaded. Seriously 86k for a Wrangler!! Those payments would be over $500 bi weekly if you did nothing down.
The repo lot is backed up right now ,, That's why they can't flush the turds they have in stock 😂
Haha ...I just bought a new jeep for 27, 333
And for a lot of us (I am in North Carolina) there is property tax on that inflated price every year when you get your tags.
47k for a jeep compass???
Wtf is going on with these car prices.
Turning your back on your customer base and trying to upscale the brand was always going to end badly. A stripped down 2 door for $15k and a $25k 4 door Wrangler would still be profitable for them and they’d fly off the lot.
