Happy 4th of July to all in the US tomorrow ❤🇺🇸🇬🇧
Important to vote where ever yo are
God Save the King 👑
Thank you for not taking any political side! I personally watch your videos to escape that toxic subject!
Its really difficult not to, especially this year with what's happening in the United States. Its really bad, in my opinion. Trying to stay positive!
In Canada we follow the same process as UK as we are a constitutional monarchy. We do have a constitution as Queen Elizabeth signed it. Each province an territory has its own elections for premier so there are 2 separate layers of govt. And yes overall we are fairly happy with our system of continuity.
Very informative! Thanks for the explanations.
As an American I thought your summary of UK government was informative. I think Americans believe King Charles has a lot more power than he actually has. 😏
Thanks Elliot, you're a knowledgeable guy.
Very well explained. Very complicated but you made it understandable. Thanks .
So informative. Thank you Elliot
❤
Thank you from Canada for the wonderful acknowledgement.
Very interesting! Thank you for going through the process, especially for those of us who are not British or from a Commonwealth country.
Best of luck on your elections 🇬🇧👑😁
I learned so much with this lesson! You are a great teacher. (As I know you were in days gone by!).
A very detailed explanation of Britain's election process> Thanks Elliot!
Thank you very much... very educative
Thank you for your Canada Day greeting. We enjoy a Constitutional Monarchy in Canada, having repatriated our Constitution from England in the 1980's. As an example , if a "Trump like leader" were our PM, and he allowed that uprising on our Parliament, the King's representative, our Governor General/King could step in and put a stop to it. That is the value of our shared political system. The King/Governor General has the last word, if the need should arise, and such a threat should arise. I aways vote, so that I have "moaning rights" about the new Government. 😂 One correction: If the German's had taken London, the Royal Family would have been secret-ed to Canada along with the Royal Navy and Royal Air Force. This fact was pounded into us during our history lessons at school. They were to fight from exile in Canada.
Happy belated Canada Day. Happy Independence Day for all Americans. Love your show! ❤️🇨🇦
Oh that was such good information and explains a lot to this American.
Excellent summary! Look forward to the next video Elliot👍
great as always, Eliot! everyone vote!
Very informative as always ❤ Happy Birthday to Matt, 🎉
Good explanation !
I appreciate your videos !!! Thank you😊
Thankyou Elliot, as always.🥰🇬🇧
Very informative Elliot!
Happy 4th of July to our American friends 🇺🇸🥳🎊🎉
Happy belated Canada Day, dear Elliot and Matt!
Hi Elliott, thanks for the video
Thank you for another great video. Best wishes.
The term of the incoming president starts at noon on the 20th of January after the elections.
The primary role of the monarchy is to show the flag around the world, support the people of their realm in various ways such as charity foundations and to promote the realm both internally and internationally.
Thank you for explaining your government. Also I truly love your channel ❤
Thank you Elliot.
As this is likely our last independence day celebration, I am entertaining the What Ifs. What if George III hadn't been batshit crazy (among other reasons). We are on the path to an absolute monarchy, and the world isn't ready.
The UK has a very flexible system of laws and traditions that make up its unwritten constitution. I think the Founding Fathers knew what they wanted (and didn't want)for the U.S. written constitution because they were familiar with the UK system.
Thanks for the Canada day wishes😊. I'm not getting any notifications.
It's so intriguing how each country evolves a different system - in Australia, we are fined for not voting in our elections !!! 😂
Hello from Canada.
Hello! ❤❤❤❤
It is currently 32° with a high of 36° and feels like 34°
that's cold!
I really don't understand the why the monarch is the head of state but does very little in state matters
That's a fair question!
what do you consider ´very little ´ ?!? its a heck of a lot!
@@PotatoMatch I mean like law making of even decision making
So the monarch is the commander in chief, not the prime minister?
Yes
Head of State and commander in chief.
The King is both the Head of State and Commander-in-Chief. However, its the Prime Minister that carries out day to day military operations.
I have a question. Does Rishi need to ask the king to form a new government since he obviously already did before?
Yes as it’s a new term
Happy Treason day from the Baton Rouge, La. USA
Elliot a lovely & apposite video❤
😻
❤️🇺🇸🐞🇬🇧
I honestly think the US needs a constitutional convention. I think our founders would be surprised we haven’t already.
