    This fight needs to include no male prison officers. Could there be a more egregious power imbalance benefiting a predator.

      I had thought that was already the situation in the UK? Next yr is 200th anniversary of women only prisons and warders, Elizabeth Fry’s campaign.
      I didn’t realise there were now male guards.

    Without protecting the most vulnerable in society how can anyone be protected?

    Just a small shout for the yellow vest girls in attendance. Active and constantly alert. 👍 x

    That last story was awful! Sometimes I wonder if the cruelty is the point.

    You are fighting this from the wrong angle, every single conviction is unsafe if you cannot identify the defendant. If you cannot clearly and legally identify a woman as an adult human female you really cannot convict anyone. Even misspelling a name entered into evidence leads to that evidence being dismissed for fear of unsafe conviction. Strength of voice is one thing strength of argument is better.

    'No women in prison at all'? That's a bit steep, no? Ilse Koch? Dorothea Puente? Leonarda Cianciulli?

    • @jayjee735

      Prisons are expensive institutions. Womens prisons are even more difficult to fund because secure staffed buildings need to be built across the country for

      @@jayjee735 I wouldn't object to 'less women in prison' for the reasons stated in the video or the one you say, but 'no women at all' seems, to borrow a word from youtube christian apologists, totalizing. I'd say a different solution for for example Aileen Wuornos, but a Dorothea Puente still should get 'time'.

    • @jayjee735
      @jayjee735 Год назад +1

      @@antimonycup7066 agreed with 'time' totally. For e.g Broadmoor isn't a prison under the jurisdiction of MOJ but a secure mental hospital funded by NHS, where many 'patients' are kept indefinitely, so better sentences/outcomes for public and the individual. Similar institutions to help women rehabilitate for as long as needed in secure grounds is still necessary for sure. Joanna Dennehy would need to be imprisoned for life for example.

    • @antimonycup7066
      @antimonycup7066 Год назад

      @@jayjee735 I wasn't aware of Dennehy but yeah. I also am not sure where exactly I stand on the rehabilitation/protecting society/punishment scale but I do have some sympathy for the argument that's it's a societal good that heinous crimes also actually get punished in some way and criminals not only get rehabilitated or society no only get protected from them.

    • @jayjee735
      @jayjee735 Год назад

      @@antimonycup7066 imprisonment is a mix of all 3, removal of civil liberties for your own safety, the safety of others, rehabilitation from causes of offending as well as punishment for committing the crime.
