Awesome dish and I will definitely be watching you closely. This taste as good as it looks! I added some chopped beef and some ground sausage to the sauce and it was a very big hit on the dinner table. I am Spanish, but my foster parents were both Italian and I do most of the cooking in my house. My wife is Indian from India and she cooks the Indian dishes and my daughter, well, she's crazy but we all loved your Manicotti, thanks.
OMG this is killing me! I’m getting on the D train right now LOL this is one of my favorite things! I actually make shells all the time, I like to add a little ham or some shrimp to mine to shake it up a little bit but yours looks fabulous! I can’t wait to make this, thank you for this recipe so much Rosella and Nonna Romana! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
It looks fantastic and I can't wait to try it but I am surprised no garlic was used in the sauce. My mom & Nonna always put garlic in any tomato sauce.
Both of you are beautiful ladies! Great recipe many thanks! Do you ever use TUMA cheese (baby pecorino) in your cooking. Mamma was Sicilian and preferred it to mozzarella.
Rossella, im a little confused... Are these not cannelloni? My mother always made manicotti from scratch, and it resembles more of a smooth crepe shell that gets rolled. I thought the tube style are the cannelloni... Maybe you can explain better? They look delicious btw! Molto buona😘
Just the opposite. Every cannelloni I have seen is smooth, with no ridges and every manicotti that I have seen has had ridges down the sides on one side of the pasta.
@@P.Snicks You could have smooth or ridged style for cannelloni, but the are cylindrical and you stuff them. A manicotti is more like a crepe. Very thin and you place your ingredients down the center and roll it up! I know ,cause we are Italian. Lol I've jad them in Italy aswell. It's something that get confused here in North America... I have friends that think the same, but it's wrong.
I certainly hope Mama' Nonna is doing well. She is Beautiful and...Adorable. May the most High GOD keep her mind SHARP for her age, her body mobile as possible, eyes clear and her heart filled with joy. And oh...retain her feistiness. I love it.
I love this episode as I love all of the others I’ve seen so far… But Rossella , I know you love Nonna, but why you never her? She always kiss you when you stick out your cheek. Why are you never return the kiss to her cheek? Just asking… 😍 is that just the Italian way? If so, please excuse my question.🙃
The host was more interested of having her fifteen minutes of fame that she didn't even let Nonna get involved. Nonna wanted to get into the making of the dish but that woman wanted it all for herself. Too bad because we could have learned a lot of Old World know how. Terrible host
lovely recipe
Nonna just made my day! You are so lucky to have her. God bless you both. 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Looks great! I appreciate the tip of draining the ricotta. I love at the end when Nonna says "I love you my baby." I want a Nonna too!
I'm trying next week it looks delish. What a very sweet video with you too ❤️
Complimenti Rossella e nonna this a original recipe. 100% italian! I remember my nonna doing it on my vacations in Sicily when i was teenager
Just completed putting the recipe together. Preheating the oven! I can't wait to taste it. Thank you Nonna for the beautiful recipe.
3:54 Why do I feel like grandma there is thinking, "Oh are we now? Am I cooking or are you?"
I loved your video. Will definitely give the Manicotti with Spinach and Ricotta a try :-)

Grandioso!!
Gracias!!!
Fantastico
I just love Nonna ❤ what a lovely grandma
Have you ever froze the dish as a make ahead dish? Would I freeze it before or after baking? Thanks
It looks fantastic and I can't wait to try it but I am surprised no garlic was used in the sauce. My mom & Nonna always put garlic in any tomato sauce.
Virginia Stucko when my Nonna makes a pasta that has ricotta she never puts garlic. Only onion.
Thank you, Rosella. It may be a regional thing. My family is from Termini Imerese, Sicily.
Garlic is not always used in Italian food. I learned that fact from the Vincenzo videos.
Can you use fresh spinach instead
Can you dig and ground beef with that too
Where can i buy your book? Amazon...?
Both of you are beautiful ladies! Great recipe many thanks! Do you ever use TUMA cheese (baby pecorino) in your cooking. Mamma was Sicilian and preferred it to mozzarella.
Can you make this a day ahead and then bake?
Did I miss the garlic? Or no garlic?
Do the eggs need to be pasteurized or can use the non pasteurized eggs?
You have a bunch of hens laying eggs? It's always best to use pasteurized eggs in recipes when not cooking them directly.
You didnt mention if the pasta water was salted???
I have always just used regular ricotta and it is just fine, no reason to complicate it. And it’s a lot of cheese no reason to salt it.
Agreed
Can you make pasta basule?its made with ground beef, kidney beans and sauce?
Rossella, im a little confused...

I've jad them in Italy aswell. It's something that get confused here in North America...
I have friends that think the same, but it's wrong.
put some NUTMEG in the RICOTTA FILLING
Why didn't you make them traditional with crepes?
Ummm...no Parmesan? No Pecorino?
Can i use cannelloni is there diffrence between them and manicotti
To me, these seem more like cannelloni anyways...my mother always made manicotti, and they were more like a crepe shell.
I miss my nonni.
Was that egg?
We're is the garlic.
no need to cook the pasta it goes striaght in the oven
Just use the hands 🤲🏼
You don’t have to cook them in water you can fill them and place in the oven raw and they will cook nicely
I certainly hope Mama' Nonna is doing well. She is Beautiful and...Adorable. May the most High GOD keep her mind SHARP for her age, her body mobile as possible, eyes clear and her heart filled with joy. And oh...retain her feistiness. I love it.
Those are cannelloni in italian. What's manicotti? Never heard of it.
Ciao ti ho vista in tv tanti saluti da bari
No garlic in the sauce? Weird!
Ha I’ve forgot to drain the ricotta 🤪

Accent sounded super forced too
Nutmeg is good here
And Black pepper
