I have a 21 RKS, this looks incredible! I have a detachable windshield, planing big summer fall trip next year, this should help! Thanks for sharing, nice to see it actually mounted!!
Thanks! I also occasionally use a detachable windshield but the batwing does provide more wind protection especially when crushing highway miles. Best of luck with your trip next year!
That's awesome. I have an 05' Road King set up similar, but chromed and am contemplating the Special with a Memphis shades batwing again. Simple, clean, and beautiful.
Thanks dude! Funny I’m actually contemplating a chromed out softail or another chromed out bagger for the coming season. Best of both worlds. Ride safe and best of luck with whatever you choose.
Nicely done bike! May I check what is the measurement from the headlight to the top of the windshield based on your 6.5inch screen? Got a 2017 flhr. I'm 5,7 with a 14 inch ape and wondering if I should do a 5 inch instead. Currently I'm using the stock shield and it's quite irritating as it cuts my view at eye level.
Quick detach? That’s badass looking because it’s basically a street glide (minus the bells and whistles) for the colder days or long trips, but take it off and it’s a great bike for hot days and shorter trips Can I ask how much did that cost? I’m considering a street glide or road glide and researching all the custom possibilities and I really like this idea if it’s easily removable
Yes its quick detach. It costs approx. $450 and totally worth it. Comes on and off in under 5 mins. Better wind protection than a standard style windshield and looks pretty good too. The best part of owning a Road King is how easily it is to modify. Especially if you don't really need a radio or speakers or screen. Good luck with your touring model search. You wont be disappointed with either three models.
These are the KST King bars. Great quality as always from KST but I had to change these out after a while because for me they had a weird/uncomfortable wrist angle.
Hello brother I really love the way you did your fairing ,do you do work for others I have an 08 roadking Vicla style, can you please let me know I would love to do business with you!
Shawn super appreciate the comment! Im not a professional mechanic, just a guy with tools a lift and a service manual who loves to tinker. With that said, if you are in NJ and need any help or advice with your build, just hit me up. Happy to help if I can.
The black ignition switch you can find easily. I removed the metal decal from the stock center console, then had the center console repainted. The speedometer is from Dakota Digital (black bezel). That’s pretty much it.
@@darknessroadking Is that the Standard windshield with their Solar color? Looks like it's tinted? I love the look! I tried the Spoiler windshield, but it seemed to stick out a bit much from the fairing.
Agreed. Had them on for about a week and a half and then went back to 14" apes. Not a bad looking set of bars (if going for a low look) but the wrist angle after a while became unbearable (for me anyhow).

Did you paint the fairing or it's the original color? I'm curious how the color matches to a vivid black RK.
This is how it comes (no need to paint) it was pretty much a perfect match (vivid black) right out of the box. Best of luck!
Where did you get the bed roll and attachments for it?
Check out Stella’s Parasols on Instagram. You can dm her to order, she has lots of different options.
Beautiful bike. Can you make a video of how it sounds?
Would the Road warrior faring work with the passing lamps? Just curious to see since I can pop off the faring when I'm not planning on going far.
Yes I’ve had the road warrior on there with the auxiliary lights. Good to go.
@@darknessroadking Did you have any photos of what it looked like by any chance?
@@mik3ramo5 For sure I do, find me on Instagram Darkness_RKS send me a DM and I'll show you some way before pics.
@@darknessroadking TY so much!
Beautiful bike. Where did you get the blanket set up for the rear fender?
Thanks, check our Stella's Parasols on Instagram. She has tons off selection at fair prices.

That's a badass bike props
Thanks dude
Is the blacked out dash custom?
Yes and no. I actually removed the stock thin metal decorative insert off of the center console. Then had it repainted locally. Sub $100.
What are you running for a license plate?
It's the Harley curved license plate frame.
what light bar do you have for the aux lights?
Its the stock Road King standard light bar (H-D p/n: 68712-94A). Unfortunately, only comes chrome had mine powder coated gloss black.

@@darknessroadking that sounds great man, thank you. If I get the road glide I’m 100% buying that too
Amazing 😊 also, rear turn signal where can I order?
Hey man, which lapera seat is that?
This is the Daytona Sport with backrest.
What handlebars are these?
These are the KST King bars. Great quality as always from KST but I had to change these out after a while because for me they had a weird/uncomfortable wrist angle.
are those bullet style points your turn signals? sweet setup man love what you've done with the bike!
Thanks dude! The bullet style rear turn signals are the smoked SuperSonics from Cuztom Kraft.

Wher did you find the blacked out center console parts?

💯👍👍
Nice set up, quick release system?
Yes, the fairing is quick release. Takes only a couple of minutes to take on/off.
@@darknessroadking Thanks, much appreciated.
What kind of pipes do you have on it?
I’m running Fuel Moto Street Outlaw Mufflers (slash up) and the Fuel Moto Jackpot 2/1/2 Header pipe.
Did the fairing cause any buffeting issues for you?
It did at first but I was able to fix the buffeting by changing the windshield size. It’s all dependent on rider’s height and helmet.
@@darknessroadking What size is your windshield?
@@dhughes20tube this is the 7” windshield.

Damn, that's sexier than my wife

Great!👍😎🇱🇷
Where did you get the lower wind deflectors?
Memphis Shades, they're were an add-on accessory for the batwing fairing.
