Nobody believes me when I tell them 'Rider on the Rain' and 'Cold Sweat' are my two favorite Bronson movies. I suppose because neither is as famous as, say, 'Death Wish.' Bronson was so cool, so possessed, so natural. This one is worth the price of admission just to see Bronson and Liv Ullman act together. Have watched it many times.

Best car "chase" sequence I've ever seen in a film! I saw George C. Scott's "The Last Ride" (1971) a couple of weeks ago and I thought that it had some crazy driving scenes, but these even topped those. This was much better than his later films when he was a big star in the 1970s.

Watched it in India in a good movie theater for $ 00.25 (Rupees 2.00 as per the Dollar price in then)in 1973. I was 14 and my brother was 12. Sure, we did not understand most of the dialogues for want of better command over the English language and American accent, but we understood and loved the film. We have never been able to forget the climax (Mr. Bronson racing the car ..against TIME). Today I'm watching it again so I may re-live those days and understand everything that's spoken. Miss you, my dear brother. Rest in Peace. You did not have to go so soon..

PS: Must thank our American friend who helped us understand this film and many more (McLeans Fear is The Key, and classic films like Godfather, Towering Inferno, Eye Witness, etc.). This friend then became a very dear family member and still is. Now a very senior and eminent professor at the University of Virginia, he was 19-20 back then, an American exchange student learning Hindi lanuage who had started living with us as a paying guest. To think that he actually used to PAY us makes us (and him) laugh today!

The motorcycle and machine gun does not come close to the red chevrolet driving over the boulders off the side of the mountain and then getting back on the road and still going over 150 kph. That car has more suspension than an off road jeep. What amazing driving. The bad guy has an amazing body to bleed out pints of blood and still be alive. Everything in this movie was amazing. @@earth7551 Bronson was born Charles Dennis Buchinsky, the eleventh of fifteen children, into a Roman Catholic family of Lithuanian descent in Ehrenfeld, Pennsylvania, in the coal region of the Allegheny Mountains north of Johnstown, Pennsylvania.[3][4] His father, Valteris P. Bučinskis, a Lipka Tatar, who later adjusted his name to Walter Buchinsky to sound more American,[3][5][6] was from Druskininkai in southern Lithuania. Bronson's mother, Mary (née Valinsky), whose parents were from Lithuania, was born in the coal mining town of Tamaqua, Pennsylvania.[7][8][9][10]
Bronson did not speak any English at home during his childhood in Pennsylvania, like many children he grew up with. He recalled that even back when he was in the army, his accent was strong enough to make his comrades think he came from another country (despite Bronson having been born in the US).[11] Besides English, he could also speak Lithuanian, Russian and Greek.[12][13]
