You simplified this concept like I've never seen before. Well done and thank you!

I really appreciate this series. I've been wanting to make a similar setup at home just to teach myself these concepts to get a more concrete understanding of the different OSI layers - something like two PCs, a switch, a router, a RasPi server, maybe a virtual machine or two, then fool around with opening and closing ports and setting up rules and tracing the path of packets around the setup until I really "get it". Your videos are really helpful to get a grip on what's happening in each layer. Cheers

Yeah... and I see people have skipped the binary/hex video, which is the most important one so far. That will come back to bite them.

Nice video series but I would expect a little bit more. It would be cool to see via Packet Capture how it really happens with explanation, just like You did with Roaming on Wireless on Your other video.

Oh you 'expect' something do you?

@@TallPaulTech Oh, don't take it as a attack. I may phrased it wrong. I thought it would serve as a feedback to your video. If I offended you by any means I'm sorry.

    Thanks for the videos.
So, regarding level 2 and 3, I see there are level 2 and level 3 switches (or even UniFi which will get a layer3 update). What's the difference? Is a layer3 switch a router?

As a very high level overview, Yes and no. They need to support routing and likely have some level of support for routing protocols to be considered layer 3 but they don't necessarily have all the functions of a dedicated router like NAT, dialer/pppoe, cryptographic (VPN) capabilities, etc and are unlikely to have powerful enough processors or sufficient memory to support those features. They are more intended for use where you need to route between different segments within the one larger network than they are intended to be attached directly to an internet connection.

PLEASE can you explain in some of next videos - plain simple - so I can understand 😎 how PORT TRIGGER is used / working and HOW to combine it w/ port forward?
