The roof is an odd place to reunite with a friend. But it is a nice place to stargaze and get lost in a conversation. Especially with an old friend. I find old friends are able to pick up like no time was lost.

After being pushed to my absolute limit, trying to satisfy my poor excuse of a mother's dream that id change the world! Whatever it was that i did, id cure cancer, stop corruption in gov, or become a olympic track star, i never wanted any of that. Simply existing has been hard enough in my life, made harder by my adhd, depression, anxiety, and even harder by the fact that im trans and many ppl would like to see me bleed out just for that. Just wanting to exist is something i find extremely relatable.

During those 3 years, covid happened then lockdown happened in March, which gives me the excuse to not go outside and find a job because we are in lockdown. Then lockdown is over and everyone is going back to work. And then we are at this time where millions of people are quitting because of low pay. The cost of living has increased but the wages haven’t increased with it. There are more job openings available. More businesses desperate to hire workers, even increasing their pay and bonuses. Edit: But working at low skill jobs like McDonald’s, is it worth it? Is it worth sacrificing your life, knowing that you have no choice because You have low skills. You start way at the bottom. Maybe automation is the future and replacing low skill workers with a machine. I didn’t go to college either because I can’t afford it. Even then, I don’t even know what I want to do. I’ve been told to just show up to school and that’s it. So, I feel like there’s no plan or the education system in the US doesn’t help me plan for the future. I feel like I’m left behind. And then comes the vaccine mandates, which nurses and more people quitting because of it. Now, you are required to take the shot in order to work. We live in a strange time.
