Dude, the GM wanted the head coach I mean, the irony of that you want the head coach to fail is like having the pilot wanting to crash while you’re still on the plane trying to get to your destination I just can’t fathom it
Let’s build up the offensive line and let things fall in the place. I agree to stay healthy and we have a completely different team that is playoff contenders.
His teams are soft, undisciplined, unprepared, and lack accountability. His personel usage is mind boggling, and his vision of winning NFL football is embarrassingly flawed. We've seen enough.
@TT-cj9fi I don't disagree with plenty of that. They plays getting in late, the lack of fire, the penalties are on him. Grier put together the players and he is the one supposed to oversee the makeup of the team. Between his drafts, free agents, contracts, trades and restructuring, this isn't a good team personnel wise. You say lack of playcalling, but I ask you what else will work realistically? I don't think any coach could make the players we have on oline look good. I think a mobile qb could hide them some. I will give you something you haven't thought of. Sure, Hill and Waddle are great on passing plays, but one reason we don't run outside much is they are small and don't block well and so are all the wrs. Add in the TEs don't block well, and we struggle to run outside. But to make tua and his fast short passes work, those small fast and quick wrs are what are needed. His qb doesn't throw well if his feet are moving, so that eliminates a lot of plays. His qb is not a threat to run and is rank near the bottom of scrambling per pff. His numbers get worse with more time. Like 28th. His qb struggles to throw outside the numbers past 5 yards, sails some in the middle, not good in big games or bad weather. Teams since Dallas last year have taken away the big play by waddle and Hill and made the other guys beat them. This isnt just the dolphins, defenses across the league are doing it to the great wrs this year as best they can. With mia having to work down the field, it only usually takes 1 bad play to get behind the sticks and end drives vs good defenses. Teams know mia will get yards . Just don't give them easy points and make them drive the field. 4 offensive coaches have all ended up with a screen offense with tua. Why? It's his game. He is like Alex Smith. You can tell mclovin has limited trust if mia has to push the ball. He can pick spots to push the ball in some games but it seems when mia has to push it, like this week, tua makes mistakes. I think Mike sees what will work on tape before games. They call those plays early to try to get a lead. There really can't be any adjustments because mia has a limited offense. Mia seems to run the same 8 plays out of many formations and motions. I just ask myself what else he can do with this group. I think it's time for all 3, tua, Grier, and mclovin to go. We haven't won nothing and thr future doesn't look bright.
@TT-cj9fi TT. Look how many coaches of Manning and Brady got head coaching jobs because they looked great with an elite qb? A bunch, including Adam gase. Most of the time, they are brought in to fix a drafted qb someone has already failed with. Gase with tannehill. The bills coach with Jones in NY and mclovin came in the same year to fix qbs. The sad fact is that most of the time, it does work out. They may find something that the league has to adjust to, but it won't last long. Grier failed the draft and mclovin can't fix tua. All 3 need to go. If I kept any of them, it would be mclovin. At least we have gotten talent in the midround picks more with him and it would be interesting to see him with a more athletic qb.
I agree with you, mate. The structure of the roster is flawed. No question. But this is McDaniel's vision as much as it is Grier's build. McDaniel has said numerous times, he likes speedy weapons and pass rushers. The beefy middle of the trenches have been largely undervalued in his scheme. I think they both gotta go. Tomorrow. I'd like to see Vrabel coaching the Dolphins next season. @theodoresmith5272
3:13 is the reason they have designed the scheme around getting the ball out so fast because of Tuas injuries, or is that a function of the personnel that they have to work around?? Like, for instance, the offensive line won’t hold up well enough, for anything to work if Tua doesn’t get the ball out of his hands in 2.1 seconds?
It's true. But that's McDaniel's vision. He's said it numerous times: he likes weapons and pass rushers. He completely ignores or at the very least undervalues trench play. That's why his teams are so soft. Grier enables him. That's why they both gotta go.
The oline isn’t great but Tua is also statistically worse when he has more time to throw. He needs to get the ball out quick otherwise bad things happen. And the reason he seems so accurate is because we either throw screens or he just picks a spot on the field to throw to . That’s why McDaniel and Grier are so obsessed with fast players, we need them to get to Tua’s spots quicker than the defense of the other team does. That’s why some of Tua’s interceptions look so bad, he’s just picking a spot to throw to regardless of what our receivers or the defense does and if the defense figures out the spot before hill or waddle or smith or achane get there we end up with results like the Texans game
All players listed as the talent on the team, not one was from the OL and DL. You can’t do anything without securing the line, that is on Grier. He needs to go.
The Dolphins are horrible on the offensive line and defensive line. I believe both Grier and McDaniel are responsible for that. Until the trenches are fixed this team will go nowhere. Both need to go together as there are no signs their philosophies are going to change.
McDaniel's vision of winning football is this league is embarrassingly flawed. His teams are soft and undisciplined. Three years running, he's still making the same mind boggling mistakes. I they both should go. Just start over with Vrabel. He'll toughen up the entire organization.
I RODNEY Paramore will tell you that both Mike McDaniel and Chris Grier will be FIRED ASAP 😡 after the season I promise you . Also Tua will be TRADED for Draft PICKS plus the Dolphins needs a New GM and HEAD COACH my advice is to bring Brian Flores back as our NEW GM to get the CURSE off this Team 🔥
You can clearly see the Dolphins players, as a team, are just not top-notch caliber. Sure there are some top-tier players, Hill, Waddle, Phillips, Ramsey. I would not add Tua to this list because he obviously folds in big games. Achane has potential, but since he's a DOLPHINS RB, it is difficult to judge his real value because of the lack NFL caliber offensive linemen on the team. If Achane were on the Chiefs, he'd be considered one of the most dangerous weapons in the NFL. In fact, it's hard to judge anything about the offense, or McDaniel's play-calling, due to the JV O-line status. The defense is average at best. Of course, there is the factor of no Phillips or Chubb due to injuries, but other than Ramsey, I don't see any standouts, and that includes Holland at safety. On defense, I see slow, poor tacklers, that are often in the wrong place on the field and who seem to blow assignments, or do just silly things like playing receivers with a 10-yard cushion on third and 5 yards to go for an opponent's first down. Since we're talking about football smarts basics, why does McDaniel repeatedly call 15-20 yard pass plays on third and 5 or less? Also, can we please reduce the jet sweeps and screen passes, especially on third and short? And everyone is already on it about the over-used, pre-snap motion. Just line up and play ball. Sure, use basic motion to help reveal coverages or move into an advantageous formation, but motion for motion's sake just hurts the team in multiple ways and is a complete waste. Again, silly. As for Grier, he is the only consistent presence in the front office, scouting and drafting players for the 20 years of mediocrity of the Miami Dolphins. If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's probably a duck. How bad do you hurt yourself by trying someone other than Grier? Maybe someone with NFL GM experience, this time? As for the 2025 draft, go hard for linemen on both sides of the ball, especially o-line. I would not mind seeing the first two 2025 draft picks being o-linemen. Maybe the first 3 picks. And for goodness sakes, find a backup QB that looks like he belongs on an NFL roster. In 2024, the backup QB situation was a literal embarrassment that no one is arguing. That situation, right there, knowing Tua's injury history, is grounds for firing Grier all by itself. Total, 100% irresponsibility. Period. What amazes me is how Stephen Ross manages a billion dollar real estate empire with what must be an army of competent, skilled and effective managers at all levels, and he cannot hire a success-capable NFL GM or head coach. Plus, he sees they are not good and keeps them on the job. How does he run his successful real estate empire? I wonder what happens to managers who deliver such low-level performance in his real estate businesses?
McDaniel is not the top reason for Fins mediocrity. That goes to Grier. McDaniel allow the loss of Fangio for being too tough on player was plainly dumb. I will give you that. McDaniel might likely be a better assistant than head coach.
So we're gonna blame Grier, McDaniel and not tua.. This fanbase is laughable... Only one time has tua been injured because of the oline. The other two times was because he ran and didn't slide.. The Interceptions against the texans were all tua he was not under duress... It really doesn't matter cause if it's only Grier, tua and McDaniel won't last the next regime.. So it's just a matter of time.. And tua can't play in the cold and can't throw outside.. Burrow throws a lot of deep outs.. These guys don't watch football.. They are just talking for views from the tuaneers.. And the chiefs are tied with the dolphins for giving up sacks and the bengals have more.. So they're oline's isn't that great either
Years and years of the same Shit Show. How many 1st year coaches is this so called franchise going to hire befor they figure out it does not work. Both Grier and Mc Daniel's need to GO
Let’s build up the offensive line and let things fall in the place. I agree to stay healthy and we have a completely different team that is playoff contenders.
Please Fire Grier and Mcdaniel!!
I agree. Their vision of winning NFL football is embarrassingly flawed. It's mind-boggling.
We should not have paid Tua that’s why Greer needs to go
Miami dolphins chirs mike tua all to go😮🎉❤
The bottom line is we need a BIG CHANGE TO CLEAN HOUSE 🏠 this group has Fail over five years now Start the New year off Right period 😡
The oline is a complete joke . Zero.running game . So many holes on defense,gm.and coach are both terrible.
McDaniel ain't no offensive genius.
Dude, the GM wanted the head coach I mean, the irony of that you want the head coach to fail is like having the pilot wanting to crash while you’re still on the plane trying to get to your destination I just can’t fathom it

So much frustration again this year. Win at home for the last Joe Robbie stadium game this season.
Mclovin is just doing the cooking. He didn't pick the ingredients.
His teams are soft, undisciplined, unprepared, and lack accountability. His personel usage is mind boggling, and his vision of winning NFL football is embarrassingly flawed. We've seen enough.

If you fire the head coach, it’s only gonna affect our starting quarterback not the good way you’ll just be sitting in this team further back

Merry Christmas everyone fins up
McDaniel needs to go.
Rizzi to Miami

You nailed it, dude. I completely agree. It seems so simple, yet...
😮50/50 Dolphins win tomorrow😮
Go get Ray Agnew as GM and Ben Johnson as HC from the Lions.
Ya! I prefer Vrabel and Weidl. But Agnew would be exciting.
Fire Grier/McDaniel. Hire Weidl/Vrabel. Toughen this team up. They're not winning anything of substance under the current regime. We've seen enough.
Grier is far worse than McNerd
