- In a historic step in the completion of the Gordie Howe International Bridge, the two sides of the bridge were finally connected on Friday, with workers from both countries meeting in the middle.
The Detroit Ironworkers, Local 25 are bad asses!!!! The Canadian Ironworkers are the same!!!! Gordie Howe would be so proud!!!!! The Bridge looks magnificent!!!!!! Great Job everyone!!! Thank You!!!! 💪💪💪💪.... 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉.....
Wonderful sight. Thank you to the skilled workers on both sides of the border..
Gordie Howe International Bridge, the most epic name for a bridge ever ❤
There were two iron workers in that photo
Why only name one and not find out who the Canadian iron worker is?
I agree and would like to know who our Canadian iron worker was as well but do get it this is an American station so their focus is on the US. I've searched and can't find Canadian news report that mentions any names at all. Congratulations to all for the accomplishment
That is Jay Huggett from Brights Grove, Ontario.
The Canadian looks like a hobo and unkempt... Not a great look for an iconic photo
Job well done!
You guys rock!!! I love this story...💪💪🌉🇱🇷🇨🇦
Frame that picture on the bridge
Even after saying it's iconic image no mention of the Canadian? We did pay for the bridge.
I’m guessing you need to bring your passport everyday when working on the bridge
Congratulations 🍾 to the workers on the U.S. 🇺🇸and Canada 🇨🇦
Well done!!👍🏾
Nothing else matters. Well only the fact that it's named after Mr. Hockey.
Project started in 2018 and won’t be open to sept 2025 . Can’t be finished fast enough , much needed for truck crossing
Yup can't wait. Disappointed in the over run in budget on this project, and huge turnover in the management was not a good look
✨❕👍🏽That’s What’s Up👍🏼❕✨
✨✨❕LITERALLY ❕✨✨
Schools need to go back to teaching skilled trades there is a big shortage
Bridging North America connected the bridge before sunrise so I wouldn’t get drone video of it. So selfish.
Placed the last piece at night so none of the drone operators would not get the shot and that all the people who faithfully watched the construction from start to finish at Del Ray Park could be denied the opportunity, too. Classy move Bridge Authority.
They may have chose a time when there was no wind. Timing was the same when lifting a church steeple recently
No relation but my name is James Howe 😊way cool 😎
Why? Canada sux.
