The guy vanished in "the last great american dynasty" because his character died. The first part of the songs ends with "the doctor had told him to settle down, it must have been her fault his heart gave out". This song tells the story of Rebekah Harkness, a middle class divorced woman who maried into a rich family and was criticized for ending "the last great american dynasty". In the end of the song, Taylor reveals she bought the house that once was owned by Rebekah, and draws paralels of how the society scrutinized both of them for being strong and independent women. You really should check this song paying attention to the lyrics, it's amazing!

Absolutely incredible writing! You are so right, a song that requires another listen to focus solely on the lyrics indeed! I did also mean though that I didn't see him leave, he just went up there and vanished... I was wondering how they pulled that off on the stage 😂❤
They all cheered at 3:42 because the way she said “take her home” was much more heartfelt than she sings it on the album. She switched it up, the Swifties were obviously here for it lol.
Yeah. Confused as to why she does it (maybe a reference to Travis reaching out across the Internet to her?), but the switchup is so happy, and that's what we are responding to.
"My tears ricochet" is adressed to the owner of her old label, who sold her masters to Scooter. ".... you wear the same jewels, that I gave you, as you bury me...." is pretty obvious a reference to her first 6 albums. Also the phrase "my stolen lullabies".
And the referencing of all her stolen albums in the lyrics… ‘I didn’t have it in myself to go with grace’ Red- State of Grace ‘You’re the hero flying around saving face’ Speak Now - Superman ‘And if I’m dead to you why are you at the wake’ Reputation-LWYMMD the old Taylor’s dead. ‘Cursing my name’ - Fearless - The way I loved you ‘Wishing I’d stayed’- 1989- All You Had to do was Stay ‘Look at how my tears ricochet’ Debut - Tearsdrops on my Guitar. Her writing skills are insane!
I also love the references to her songs as stones - "some to throw and some to make a golden ring", which I see as self-reflective as her hate songs and love songs.
But it's also just a story of some lady haunting her husband that killed her. It's meant to be interpreted however way you'd like, just like with most of the Folklore album.
ALSO the backup singers are so so cute. They interact with the crowd so much during the shows, I managed to record a few clips of them blowing us kisses, waving and smiling, they're so sweet, and SO PRETTY
she wears a harness that is the same color as the dress she wears and she unclips as she gets to the steps to go down into the folklore cabin. she tripped in tokyo on her way down and thankfully still had the harness on. she said her life flashed before her eyes and she was very glad she didn't fall off of the cabin.
Yep! If folks need more help to see it, it’s the wide white belt she’s wearing while she’s on the roof. She takes it off, in the movie, during the cut to the crowd, but you can see it’s no longer part of the outfit. A plus Broadway design there!
@@khills She actually tripped on the roof at one of the most recent Era concerts, I believe it was in Japan. She caught herself, the audience gasped she had a freaked out look on her face, and someone shouted something like "take care Taylor". Apparently, she called Travis later and told him, which concerned him....I think her ankle twisted, and he was really upset because she hadn't had it checked by a doctor. he told her that she could have chipped or broken a bone in her ankle and they needed to make sure that it wasn't tje case. She had it checked (Not sure what they did....whether she had x-rays or what. But apparently she was OK and Travis was relieved....He left the party with his buddies that he was attending, and evidently made arrangements to pop over to the next venue where Taylor was heading. This is when they arranged for Travis to pop over to her LA mansion where a whole new wardrobe had been designed, ordered and deliver. Travis was supposed to pick them up and get them delivered to her for the next Era tour. (Singapore? ) He evidently was really concerned about her safety, and wanted to keep an eye on her to make sure she was going to be OK.
@@sharingthebounty2488 That’s very sweet. ❤️ And yes, my husband had a pilon fracture of his ankle last May, and he’s still in recovery. Ankles are such a small part of our body but a big part of how we move! His physician assistant chewed me out for injuring my own ankle and not getting it looked at for similar reason; I slid down some stairs (“fell” sounds so much more dramatic than it was) in July while taking care of said 2nd surgery postop husband and didn’t get it looked at, and by the end of September I had horrific tendinitis in the ankle and could barely move it. His PA noticed because I WAS SITTING FUNNY, made me take my shoes off and gave me a thorough exam before sending me off for a brace and then, a week later, 6 weeks of aqua therapy, with as much rest as possible. 🤷🏼♀️ Ankles. SO important, so easy to hurt.
@@sharingthebounty2488 All of that sounded like tabloid made up stories. Taylor nor Travis would give that type of info to anyone who would report it. Neither has given any interviews recently. Sounds like fantasy lore to me. Travis does not control Taylor's actions. The Japanese tour was 2 tour stops ago. Source, please.
The Last Great American Dynasty is about a woman who owned the Rhode Island home she bought before she lived there. She found out about Rebecca and thought she was so interesting. She was right
I think Taylor is a very empathetic person along with being a creative it means that she doesn’t have to experience something personally to understand the story and emotions of it which translates to her songwriting. In addition she’s also very well-read and has said in interviews early in her career that a lot of her songs were based on her imagination from reading and watching stories of other people. I feel like that is what makes it feel like she’s lived lifetimes because of her extremely active imagination.
She’s a theater kid/performer, lyricist/poet, musician, singer all wrapped up into an extraordinarily talented artist. When performing on stage, part of the craft of theatre is being able to look out to the audience in a way that makes them feel like you ARE actually locking eyes, engaging, captivating each person to help them feel like they are locked in & having a unique/individualized experience. It’s a carefully crafted skill that she has splendidly mastered. She truly is exceptionally gifted as a performance artist. You can also tell how much she feeds off the energy & character of a live audience. Like the first song, Cardigan, when she’s on the roof & you were confused when the crowd went wild. It was the change in key of how she sang that line. She changed the delivery & the emphasis was not lost on her fans. It was electrifying. They responded. She noticed. She gave them more in songs that followed on that set. Other things that are subtle and likely lost upon people who aren’t very familiar w/her on stage personality are her little smirks. Those mean something too. 😉 She is delightful in how plays with and plays off the energy & feedback of her audience is exactly why she can sell out enormous stadiums around the world. SHE is a phenom in all aspects of what she delivers in all aspects of musical composition, lyricism, stage presence, incredible sets, choreography, her entire cast: band, backup singers, dancers, crew…the entire performance. It’s just…wow.
I live in St Louis and when I saw the Eras movie in the theater the whole theater screamed the line "HER SALTBOX HOUSE ON THE COAST TOOK HER MIND OFF SAINT LOUIS!" and now every time I hear it I cry because that was such a magical moment just sitting in the theater with a bunch of strangers. If the theater was like that I can't even imagine what the actual concert live is like. It has to feel almost otherworldly. Edited to add: She went up the stairs with the guy who looks like the dude from Star Wars and he disappeared because his character died in the song. "It must have been her fault his heart gave out."
The reason she can change the entire mood with a flick of a switch, I believe, is because all of these songs were written by her. She has felt all of these emotions, and when she performs, she pulls on those memories to embody the song. It's a beautiful and magical. Also, Folklore is my favourite era. Even though Red, Evermore, Midnight and.. well, the rest honestly, are close seconds 😂
Timestamps cause why not 1:14 intro 1:26 the 1 5:50 speech 8:28 Betty 14:25 the last great American dynasty 18:55 August 24:07 illicit affairs 25:54 My tears Ricochet 31:22 outro
The Last Great American Dynasty is one of my favorite story songs of Taylor's, so I loved that we got a complete musical number out of that song. I have "She had a marvelous time ruining everything" embroidered on a pillow 😂
The songs in order are the 1, Betty, the last great american dynasty, august/illicit affairs mashup, and my tears ricochet. The mashup one is why the end of that song feels so different, because it’s a different song that she tied in.
Yes!! I absolutely love it, and honestly I don't see people talking enough about this. I love playing with my clothes when I have long/wide/I don't know how to call sleeves like that (when the clothes have other features too, but I wouldn't know how to explain them now), and people usually don't like it/seem it as weird
On what you said about Taylor looking directly at specific Swifties in the crowd. She has said before that she tries to memorize faces in the crowd. So she really is staring an individual people. I love that.
Ok, last two thoughts, I promise! 😂 About her happiness and her eye contact. To the latter, that just reinforces the theatrical nature of this and the training she’s received somewhere along the way. In theatre, you’re taught to actually lock eyes with and connect to the front of the house, even as you PERFORM to the back of the house. It’s a way to keep yourself grounded and connected to the audience in front of you, because you can so easily risk ignoring them in your effort to perform to the back. Basically, the DRAMA goes to the back of the house so they can experience what’s going on, but you emotionally connect to the front of the house to keep the emotions authentic. It’s why, if you can, you should always sit as close to the front of the house as you can afford. For my college graduation, I was given front row seats to see Patrick Stewart perform MacBeth, and he picked me as one of his audience connections, and the magic you describe with Taylor is what I experienced there. I mean, also, admittedly, Patrick Stewart, so. ❤️😂 (Ok, short add-on here: Mandy Moore did the choreography, and yes, one of the things she is known for is her precision work, like the walking, and she does a lot of Broadway.) And I think you’re right that her happiness for folklore and evermore hit different. They’re really the first time she did anything conceptually different from her earlier albums, and they were made differently, and brought in a very different player into her stable of musical partners. The whole thing was a huge risk - so big her label didn’t know about it until hours before she released it. And it paid off in dividends. So yeah, I think she’s really proud of the album. It’s also one of the albums she hasn’t been able to perform until now - I think you’ll find a lot of Midnights has a similar feel to folklore and evermore, and for that reason. Not only is it fresh and new to perform, but it’s music she’s made now, not when she was a teenager, and while she clearly loves those old songs, it seems like she takes a lot of pride in how her craft has evolved, and being able to show it and the staging to people.
If you have the time to, please combine the 1989 Era set with the Acoustic set since the acoustic set is only two songs. 🤍 Also, the first song she does for the acoustic set - she did actually write that song for her 9th Grade Talent Show! - little side note: the Acoustic set is technically the 'debut' era because its just her and an instrument, which is how she started out, and the acoustic guitar she uses is the same guitar from 2005-2006
You are so right about the change in demeanor when August switched to Illicit Affairs. If you notice the stage and screen were colorful during August then became black and white in Illicit Affairs because the song says “you showed me colors I can’t see with anyone else” so colorful became black&white
Folklore means so much to people because along with Evermore they both dropped during such a dark time in the world. I was critically ill with covid when Folklore released. Those songs are burned into my soul forever.
My Tears Ricochet is so raw and painful. I mean she had a relationship with Scott Borchetta - who is seems most likely to be about - since she was 14. He was the owner of her original record label and he betrayed her in a big way. The lyrics and performance show just how painful it was.
The fact that Folklore is one of the most "laidback" albums of the bunch and it has 7 songs on the tracklist says so much❤ Edit: My Tears Ricochet is about her once-label owner, Scott Borchetta. He discovered her when she was 14 and they were like family to each other. He really did her dirty and there is clearly a lot of hurt there.
Love being on this journey with you ❤ Folklore/Evermore is just a mood, one I adore, a place to go to when you feel all the feelings 😊. Can't wait for the Miss Americana reaction, you'll gain such a deeper understanding of so many songs and Taylor herself, if you think you love her now...... ❤❤❤
Highlight of my Friday 🤘 Folklore was a surprise drop album approximately 6 months into lockdown in 2020. Going into Taylor’s magical fantasy woods when most of us were trapped and worried was such a beautiful gift 💕
There's one more song that closes the folklore era, wich is "Cardigan", but for the theatrical version of the movie, they cut it, along with "The archer" and "Long Live", but those 2 where added when they released to buy it. On march 15th they going to release for streaming in disney+ and they going to add Cardigan to the movie.
I get the feeling that Taylor is so proud and so happy to finally preform the pandemic albums (Evermore and Folklore) that she never got to tour and it shows all over her face! The warm feeling shines so bright, and I'm just so happy she get sing these songs for us.
Omg pleeeease do Miss Americana after your reaction to The Eras, it gives you such a wide perspective of her career and her point of view as well. It gave us so much information that we didn't know about her, it's very emotional.
It cracks me up that the first time I heard The Last Great American Dynasty, I thought the lyric was "betting on card games with Dolly", and I thought , ok, Rebekah Harkness was friends with Dolly Parton. Then I saw the lyrics on Spitify and realized that they say "betting on card games witg Dali", as in early 20th century artist Salvador Dali! Rebekah was actually pretty high up in New York Society- she spent a lot of her dead 2nd husband's money on a ballet company in NYC.
The choreographer of the Eras tour is Mandy Moore who was recommended to Taylor by actress Emma Stone after working with her on the La La Land movie. That’s why it’s very theatrical feeling.
Me who live in South East Asia Region have been waiting for this reaction like...27 hours because the time zone difference. And now FINALLY! At 3 o'clock of Saturday's moring here in my country I can now watching your reaction. Thank you so much I really enjoy your videos. It made my day and I am going to sleep after this with sweet dream!
The change is the song changing from August to Illicit Affairs; Swifties are screaming for Taylor Swift to release this version as it's different to how it sounds on the album
I think the reason why she has different energy for this era (like you mentioned) is that she’s never performed any of these songs on a tour before. So this is kind of like she so proud to finally show it off.
If you haven't already, the songs Cardigan, Betty, and August from this album all tie together. You'll have to listen in that order and see how the story plays out! It's from three different perspectives of the love triangle.
2:52 for her entire career people have made fun of her for writing about past relationships so I really appreciate how you acknowledge how special it is that she turns these experiences into art❤
This version of "Betty" has drums that the studio doesn't have. But this version reminds me of 90's music like Hootie & the Blowfish, with that alt rock you hear in Matchbox 20. Almost early grunge like Stone Temple Pilots if she were to approach it slightly different from this version. I wish there was a way we could request her to do some song covers of the 90s. She used to do covers back in the day when was starting out her career. Rock covers from her would be awesome.
TS is a very talented entertainer - storywriter - singer - dancer - choreographer - director - everything all in one. Amazing actor; folklore was an enchanted woodland fairytale The set designer is to be commended - incredible
The lyrics in Illicit Affairs just kill me. Especially the “But it dies, and it dies, and it dies A million little times.” You’re right. It’s like she’s lived a whole life of just epic love stories. And hurt. So many of them just get you right in the gut. “I know my love should be celebrated, But you tolerate it.” Is another one. 😩
In the full concert, the final song is supposed to be “Cardigan”, but they cut it in the movie. Taylor is releasing the movie on streaming on March 15th, and she will include cardigan in it
Have you seen MISS AMERICANA yet??? If you want to know more about Taylor.. this is a must! Also the FOLKLORE DOCUMENTARY gives you a great insight on how this album was made and what each song is about.
I’ve decided, since it is indeed impossible to pick an all-time favorite, that my favorite album will always coincide with whatever era I am experiencing in my life at these time. Currently, I am 100% in my Reputation Era, and absolutely DYING for Rep TV 😫🖤🐍
hi! the next part is 1989 and the following is the suprise song part. since the surprise songs are only 2 i was thinking that you should do both parts in one video! 1989 and surprise songs 🫶🏻
I know you don't realize it but you yourself are like Taylor. Your genuineness shines in every video and that's a rare trait! There are a small group of people that I just want to bubble wrap, protect at all costs and make all their dreams come true because they're such fantastic humans. Dave Grohl is one of those people and you've officially joined the list as well! I so love seeing you fall in love with Taylor like the rest of us have. Its a joy to see. 🫶
What you referred to as the last verse of "August" was actually the chorus to "Illicit Affairs". She does a special mashup of those songs during this tour. "Illicit Affairs" is a pretty incredible song. Folklore is definitely a listen to the whole album thing.
I wish I can up vote this more!! Saw Ronan for the first time a few weeks ago, and I was an absolute wreck I was sobbing so hard!!! Personally I don't think Luke will survive
explanation of the love triangle!! James is the main boy here, he falls in love with Betty but then messes things up when he cheats on her with Augustine, the songs August, Betty and Cardigan and all from each of their perspectives, Betty being from James’ perspective about Betty, August being from Augustine’s perspective about James and Cardigan being about James from Betty’s perspective. It’s a really beautiful and intricate love triangle but it really sets the whole album out
So, a question for the other Swifties that have been so very lucky and privileged enough to have seen the Eras Tour in person. Now that she finally came to Australia and I saw Eras in Melbourne: Does it also strike you that as fantastic as the movie is, that the show was soooo much more intense being there in person? There were no words for me, and even though I knew everything about Taylor and all her songs, I was just overcome by it all. There is so much more than the movie - extra pieces, so much more complexity, the sheer intensity of how Taylor looks at the audience, the noise and the sheer majesty of it all. I was overwhelmed. I was in shock.
So my theory, that has not been confirmed, is that “My Tears Ricochet” is about her stolen lullabies and each line of the first chorus was taken from a song from each stolen album!! “i didn’t have it in myself to go with grace”- Red (State of Grace) “you’re the hero flying around saving face”- Speak Now (Superman) “and if I'm dead to you, why are you at the wake?”- rep (LWYMMD/old Taylor is dead) “cursing my name”- Fearless (The Way I Loved You) “wishing I stayed”- 1989 (All You Had to Do Was Stay) “look at how my tears ricochet”- Debut (Teardrops on my Guitar)
When the guy and girl go up into the cabin he doesn’t come back because of the line in the song “his heart gave out”. It’s a story about two real people and the husband died.
❤❤❤ my tears ricochet truly is one of her best and moving songs. i can’t imagine how taylor felt when her supposed friend sold the rights to all her albums at the time. now she’s reclaiming all her music with “taylor’s versions” and it’s beautiful but she’ll always be missing a piece of herself and never get those years back. PLEASE watch the music video to “Mean” and “I Can See You (Taylor’s Version)” one after the other - it really drives home that paralleling happiness and sadness of reclaiming her first 6 stolen albums.
The part where you said that she changed the atmosphere in an instant (where the stage went from relatively colourful/orangy to dark and moody) was actually not the last verse of that song, but a small part of a different song she added on. Most of that performance was the song August and then the last part (which always has me glued to her voice and the screen, it just gets me so much) is actually from a song called Illicit Affairs. And then the last song was My Tears Ricochet. I don't know if you would ever do album reactions, but if you react to it or not, you should absolutely listen to this whole album, you would love it. (I mean probably most of her albums, but this one is something special (together with Evermore imo).)
Folklore is my favorite and will always be because it was the album that completely made me a swiftie and it hit at a point in my life that it saved me. I could listen to it forever. But i have rotating favorites as well. Red and reputation are high up there for me but im currently vibing to Evermore. Haha so hard to pick favorites
I was row 9, last year in Minneapolis, and I SWEAR she locked eyes with me and waved at one point!! I even turned to my husband and said, did she just do that? He says, I think so!!!
You should probably do both 1989 and the Acoustic Set after it next week because they're like 7 songs total together, the latter specifically is only 2 songs, and the last part of the setlist after that is 7 songs on its own
Taylor has all those stories because she’s brave enough to keep putting herself out there even though she would get hurt or disappointed. She’s clearly curious and adventurous and brave to keep trying with people and love.
Favorite Era: This Era of Existence that I get to be alive, seen her live, and get to be alive the same time mother Taylor exists and her outstanding magnificent evolution continues.
the energy shift between august and the bridge of illicit affairs is truly everything. it’s been almost a year since the tour started and we could witness it for the first time but it’s still giving me chills

@@sharingthebounty2488Did Travis talk about this on the podcast? Where did you hear these details?
@@sharingthebounty2488 All of that sounded like tabloid made up stories. Taylor nor Travis would give that type of info to anyone who would report it. Neither has given any interviews recently. Sounds like fantasy lore to me. Travis does not control Taylor's actions. The Japanese tour was 2 tour stops ago. Source, please.
So folklore really helped me through the pandemic. Man, it's like she made that album for me.
We cheer during the first song "the 1" because she changes the note she sings it in. 😊
She NEEDS to release the new version, it's just more magic with it!
Ah I see!
The Last Great American Dynasty is about a woman who owned the Rhode Island home she bought before she lived there. She found out about Rebecca and thought she was so interesting. She was right
I heard a rumour this is what the screenplay was going to be about x
That would be amazing oh my god!
I have no facts to base this on, just something I heard, but OMG yeah I'd be so excited for it! ❤ x
Yep, I’ve heard that rumor too, with Blake Lively as Rebekah, and I have my fingers crossed SO HARD.
@@khills Why is this all I can think about now
I think Taylor is a very empathetic person along with being a creative it means that she doesn’t have to experience something personally to understand the story and emotions of it which translates to her songwriting.
She is delightful in how plays with and plays off the energy & feedback of her audience is exactly why she can sell out enormous stadiums around the world. SHE is a phenom in all aspects of what she delivers in all aspects of musical composition, lyricism, stage presence, incredible sets, choreography, her entire cast: band, backup singers, dancers, crew…the entire performance. It’s just…wow.
It’s fun when she does torrential rain shows where it’s pouring rain the entire time and she’s on top of the folklore house haha
St. Louis here too! Such a proud moment! 🥹

She won the National Poets Award when she was 13. Knowing that it makes sense about her storytelling putting to music. Great reaction. Stay safe❤
Absolutely makes so much sense!
And now she is releasing the tortured poets department🥹🥹
The Last Great American Dynasty is one of my favorite story songs of Taylor's, so I loved that we got a complete musical number out of that song. I have "She had a marvelous time ruining everything" embroidered on a pillow 😂
The songs in order are the 1, Betty, the last great american dynasty, august/illicit affairs mashup, and my tears ricochet. The mashup one is why the end of that song feels so different, because it’s a different song that she tied in.
I know illicit affairs isn’t technically part of the Teenage Love Triangle songs, but I always felt like it belongs with them.
If you want to get to know Taylor more and hear her talk, I highly recommend her NYU commencement speech. It is truly amazing🥰
Thank you for the recommendation! I will definitely check that out 💯💯
3:57 they were cheering cus she did a note change from the OG version lol
Taylor just skipping around playing with her sleeves is everything to me
Yes!!
I absolutely love it, and honestly I don't see people talking enough about this. I love playing with my clothes when I have long/wide/I don't know how to call sleeves like that (when the clothes have other features too, but I wouldn't know how to explain them now), and people usually don't like it/seem it as weird

@@Serenitywellnessartsahahahaha!
❤️😂 (Ok, short add-on here: Mandy Moore did the choreography, and yes, one of the things she is known for is her precision work, like the walking, and she does a lot of Broadway.)
And I think you’re right that her happiness for folklore and evermore hit different.
- little side note: the Acoustic set is technically the 'debut' era because its just her and an instrument, which is how she started out, and the acoustic guitar she uses is the same guitar from 2005-2006
@SwiftZilla - this is a great suggestion! I too think combining 1989 with the two accoustic songs would be fantastic!
Or he could wait for the streaming version of the acoustic set on March 15th that is going to be 6 songs?
@@Laura-gu7yv I think that could be its own separate video since he already has this one downloaded.
Yes yes please combine these 2
13:05 STOP THAT IS MY FAVORITE LINE IN THE WHOLE SONG
same! I'm so happy this line got the appreciation it deserves! Taylor is amazing at portraying all hues of emotions and feelings
FACTS
Oh wow, I had completely forgotten, how intense the performance to My Tears Ricochet is!! Love it much better than the studio version! ❤❤❤
The lyrics and performance show just how painful it was.
surprised she was more upset about scooby than scott!
She went in the cabin with him but came out without him cause he dies in the song
The fact that Folklore is one of the most "laidback" albums of the bunch and it has 7 songs on the tracklist says so much❤
Edit: My Tears Ricochet is about her once-label owner, Scott Borchetta. He discovered her when she was 14 and they were like family to each other. He really did her dirty and there is clearly a lot of hurt there.
Such a shame that she put so much trust in someone who let her down like that 😢❤️
Love being on this journey with you ❤ Folklore/Evermore is just a mood, one I adore, a place to go to when you feel all the feelings 😊. Can't wait for the Miss Americana reaction, you'll gain such a deeper understanding of so many songs and Taylor herself, if you think you love her now...... ❤❤❤
Highlight of my Friday 🤘
Folklore was a surprise drop album approximately 6 months into lockdown in 2020. Going into Taylor’s magical fantasy woods when most of us were trapped and worried was such a beautiful gift 💕
The imagery in my tears ricochet is so moving and I get chills and a lump in my throat the moment all the dancers fall to the ground
the irony of the haters saying all her songs sound the same....yes cause all these eras have the same vibe 😂
15:57 he died lol. “It must have been her fault his heart gave out”
There's one more song that closes the folklore era, wich is "Cardigan", but for the theatrical version of the movie, they cut it, along with "The archer" and "Long Live", but those 2 where added when they released to buy it.
The hardest thing about becoming a Swiftie is learning all the inside joke like the "The One" note change😅
I wish there was a cheat sheet lol

Not hard if you've been watching and listening and loving her since she was sixteen😘🫶🏼
She does have a harness on when she's on the roof! It's around her waist. It matches her dress and she takes it off when she comes down the stairs.
so if she did fall when she tripped in Japan, she wouldn't have fallen off the roof? Good to know! 👍
The choreographer of the Eras tour is Mandy Moore who was recommended to Taylor by actress Emma Stone after working with her on the La La Land movie. That’s why it’s very theatrical feeling.
I'm obsessed with the fact that you didn't say "I'm going to try not to cry" and just owned it from the beginning 😂❤❤❤
3:45 When she sings “take her home” there is a note change and it makes everyone go feral. 😂
15:58 You asked where the guy went. In the song, he died, so he dissappears after this.
TS is a very talented entertainer - storywriter - singer - dancer - choreographer - director - everything all in one. Amazing actor; folklore was an enchanted woodland fairytale The set designer is to be commended - incredible
The lyrics in Illicit Affairs just kill me.
Especially the
“But it dies, and it dies, and it dies
A million little times.”
You’re right. It’s like she’s lived a whole life of just epic love stories. And hurt. So many of them just get you right in the gut.
“I know my love should be celebrated,
But you tolerate it.” Is another one.
😩
In the full concert, the final song is supposed to be “Cardigan”, but they cut it in the movie. Taylor is releasing the movie on streaming on March 15th, and she will include cardigan in it
Idk if it would even be long enough for a reaction but you HAVE to see Illicit Affairs in the rain, its insane
The most complete heartbreak I've ever felt😭
The song last Great American Dynasty is a true story and she actually bought the home on the beach in Rhode Island.
called Holiday House 😁
Have you seen MISS AMERICANA yet??? If you want to know more about Taylor.. this is a must! Also the FOLKLORE DOCUMENTARY gives you a great insight on how this album was made and what each song is about.
Thank you as well Jamie for filling my you tube feed with all these people reacting to Ms Swift ツ

The guy who looks like Poe Dameron vanished because his character in the story of the song passes away 😉
I’ve decided, since it is indeed impossible to pick an all-time favorite, that my favorite album will always coincide with whatever era I am experiencing in my life at these time. Currently, I am 100% in my Reputation Era, and absolutely DYING for Rep TV 😫🖤🐍
Me too!!! The wait for Rep TV is excruciating! But I love all the albums in the meantime 😁
hi! the next part is 1989 and the following is the suprise song part. since the surprise songs are only 2 i was thinking that you should do both parts in one video! 1989 and surprise songs 🫶🏻
Agree with this!

If you want to see Taylor at her cutest and fun loving ways, you must view her Shake it Off video.
after binge watching EVERY SINGLE taylor video you've done in the last two weeks... I AM SO EXCITED THIS IS FINALLY HERE! MY FAV ERA
The line “you hear my stolen lullabies “ says it all, my second favorite Era after Red
same!!
She reminds me of Stevie Nicks when she’s like this
What you referred to as the last verse of "August" was actually the chorus to "Illicit Affairs". She does a special mashup of those songs during this tour. "Illicit Affairs" is a pretty incredible song. Folklore is definitely a listen to the whole album thing.
Thank you for loving her as much as we do. 💗
Why do we make us wait a full week to see your reaction😭😭 I can’t wait for 1989 and the acoustic set! Please do it together.
I love when friday comes around. I absolutely love your reactions its so heartwarming
You need to listen/react to the story and song "Ronan," I think you'd be a puddle of tears by the time it's over!
STOPPPP THISSSSSS it’s EVIL lol
Please finish watching the eras tour movie first though because you’ll be incapacitated after Ronan.
Yes, it is evil, but true. He needs to react to Ronan. I bawled my eyes out. 🥺🥺
I wish I can up vote this more!! Saw Ronan for the first time a few weeks ago, and I was an absolute wreck I was sobbing so hard!!! Personally I don't think Luke will survive
If we wanna be really evil, include Soon You'll Get Better, too. 😭
explanation of the love triangle!!
“i didn’t have it in myself to go with grace”- Red (State of Grace)
“you’re the hero flying around saving face”- Speak Now (Superman)
“and if I'm dead to you, why are you at the wake?”- rep (LWYMMD/old Taylor is dead)
“cursing my name”- Fearless (The Way I Loved You)
“wishing I stayed”- 1989 (All You Had to Do Was Stay)
“look at how my tears ricochet”- Debut (Teardrops on my Guitar)
"Folklore" is an awesome Era. Thank you for the reaction.
When the guy and girl go up into the cabin he doesn’t come back because of the line in the song “his heart gave out”. It’s a story about two real people and the husband died.
Luke, she pulls you into her stories...captures your soul for sure..Folklore is awesome!
The Illicit Affairs bridge is my favorite part of the Eras Tour.
YES...YES...YESSSSS! 😂 Again my thanks to Luke and Jamie ❤ to you both! 👏 👏 👏
🤍🤍
❤❤❤ my tears ricochet truly is one of her best and moving songs. i can’t imagine how taylor felt when her supposed friend sold the rights to all her albums at the time. now she’s reclaiming all her music with “taylor’s versions” and it’s beautiful but she’ll always be missing a piece of herself and never get those years back. PLEASE watch the music video to “Mean” and “I Can See You (Taylor’s Version)” one after the other - it really drives home that paralleling happiness and sadness of reclaiming her first 6 stolen albums.
A lot of her love stories are metaphors. That’s the beauty of her writing. You can relate on so many levels.
The Illicit Affairs bridge has been my Roman Empire for months!
3:54 yeah there is a change in the way she sang that note from the studio version
(I mean probably most of her albums, but this one is something special (together with Evermore imo).)
they were all cheering at 3:45 because of the note change she made!
Loved your reaction, as always!!!💗💗💗
They were cheering in the first song at that part because she changed the way she sings that line!
Thank you for sharing your Taylor Swift Experience with us ... we love all of it! ツ
Yay, took the day off for this!!! Don’t worry guys, I write the schedule, it’s ok. Totally worth it, your reactions are the best!!
I was row 9, last year in Minneapolis, and I SWEAR she locked eyes with me and waved at one point!! I even turned to my husband and said, did she just do that? He says, I think so!!!
She did! She’s had theatrical training somewhere, because it’s what performers do to make sure they’re emotionally connecting to the audience!
Do the surprise songs with 1989!
the energy shift between august and the bridge of illicit affairs is truly everything. it’s been almost a year since the tour started and we could witness it for the first time but it’s still giving me chills
Folklore is my favorite set of the tour. Its a masterpiece.
