You look better in between slight a kind short bob or long pixie to cover your lower face more effectively but certainly never longer than bob length maybe curly bob according to a men. Well your eye's and eyebrows look beautiful needs some bangs to match up.
As a dude who decided to learn how to cut my own hair but hates the male tutorials that are either razor clean shave or clippers fade, this was by far the best. Thanks a *lot* .
Currently trimming my hair for the second time with this! As a girl who has struggled for years with salons wanting to 'keep it feminine,' I tried a barber recently, and walked out with the most choppy bowl cut disaster known to man. I can show them all the reference pictures I want, but my hair is thick and nobody knows what to do with it. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge, you've saved me a lifetime's worth of haircut money and frustration :)❤
TY! very clear, no blah blah filler words everything you said was pertinent & useful. doesn't hurt that your voice is pleasing to the ear, and who doesn't enjoy seeing a lovely face? so, thanks again!
I bought the right texturising scissors and a razor blade cutter on line and did just this. It worked a treat. Thank you for giving me the confidence to just do it. This is the best “DIY how to” video I’ve seen, and my hair feels great again.
I took the plunge today and couldn't happier...or prouder. Thanks for this wonderful tutorial, Lina. I watched it and others numerous times just to pluck up the courage, let alone decide what I'd need to do the job -- 6 months out from last cut before shutdowns/restrictions. I kept returning to this one. You enabled me to do something I'd never have had the courage or "what's the worst" attitude to pull off. My friends are sure to get tired of hearing me crow, let alone subjecting them to my photos, but I'm spreading the word: Look what I did! And here's who showed me how! Thanks so much, Lina. (Note: This has made me appreciate even more those whose patience, skill and artistry make it look easy. This is my Labor Day nod to all of you. Thank you.)
God bless you ma'am!! As a girl with short hair my whole life, I've been looking for a guide to cut the back of my hair but most tutorials are for long hair girls 😭 this is what I needed the most
This tutorial has been life changing! I bought a kit on amazon and showed my mom the video. She followed it, and it looks fantastic! 4 1/2 months since my last professional cut, and I'm loving my new DIY haircut! Thank you!!!
I have watched this video at least a dozen times and am soooo inspired! I have ordered my texturizing shears so I can start doing this at home! The more I watch the video; the more confident I am that I can do this. Thanks for making this video! Woohoo!
The best self-cutting pixie tutorial on youtube! Explained so well in details! It's very difficult to find a good hair stylist who are this detailed and artistic. I've had good stylists twice (who aren't available anymore), but most I've found end up giving a weird/unflattering cut. I'll attempt to follow this. Thank you so much! You're the best!
This was incredibly helpful. I’ve been cutting my hair since the pandemic started. I’m relieved to find I have indeed been doing a pretty good job. The bulky parts are difficult, glad to see what to do about that. Going to cut my hair now. Thanks!
Hello Lina i hope you are well. Just wanted to tell you thanks again for putting ur video up. I msg you last year (1st lockdown) UK. anyway I got my thinning scissors and normal ones and i have been cutting my own hair since march 2020. I dont think i will ever go back to a hairdresser again. Altho i upgraded to using clippers for the back, it was ur vid that gave me the inspiration to do it myself 😀 Take care. Carol from Liverpool Uk 👍
Thank you for giving me the confidence to do it. A lot of tutorials are too complicated for me to follow . Your's perfect! I just went ahead and it turned out great!
*double checks the posted date* my goddness, you're a saint. this has been so helpful for me!! cutting my hair a second time with this tutorial for new years~
Wow. Thanks. I have given up on having someone else cut my hair. Last girl made me look like a prison inmate. Practically high & tight. I will be wearing a hat until I’m presentable. When I finally need a cut, I think I can use your techniques. Also, I cut my husband’s hair (30 yrs running) & this will make me better at it. 💛
That was the best tutorial on a hair cut I have seen yet!! Easy to the point and not all this measuring and doing what we cannot do ourselves sooo thank you sooo much!
Thanks for this. I wish I'd found it in lockdown. Always find the back of my very cropped classic Vidal Sassoon bob grows out way before the front and sides. I've trimmed my own razor-sharp fringe for years (actually have found it easier to trim my fringe with clippers) But I didn't know how to tackle the bushy back. Clipping the front, top and sides out the way - I never would have thought of that. I don't think that my effort is as accurate as yours. But I'm pretty impressed with my first go. I used electric barbers clippers and thinning shears because I couldn't find texture shears (other than for dogs!). But I have thicker hair than you. So it seemed to work well. They were all of £6 (UK pounds sterling) from that well-known online retailer. I didn't really need my normal hairdressing scissors. It's been 3 days and I've washed it once. Just needed to tidy up a few stray bits that have revealed themselves since. But I reckon I'll get another month before heading back to my fabulous hairdresser. (Sorry Hiro!)
Thanks so much for this video! I just did my hair and it looks great. This is my first time using the thinning shears and I really like them. I didn't have a razor so my husband finished my neck with his electric clippers. We're in lock down here in Ontario so I can't visit my stylist right now. Thanks again for this video - I feel so much better!
So helpful...I usually just use a razor trimmer but I think I'm going to invest in some thinning shears. I cut my own hair because I have never found anyone who understands how I like my hair. I feel so much more confident now. Thank you so much!
Thank you for posting this How To... I’d been trimming the front and sides and decided to leave the back until it got urgent. I already had the equipment for grooming my dogs but thought I’d never be able to cut where I can’t see. But I followed your tutorial and it really is the best haircut I’ve ever had! I used to pay a lot of money at Vidal Sassoon Manchester England and I never ‘liked’ it, but I was just glad it was short. Now I can’t stop looking at it as it’s just what I wanted all along. THANK YOU 👏💇♀️👍🥰
Yay! Sassoon stylists don't use thinning or texture shears. Some are shamed if they use it. I'm a HUGE fan of texture shears because they take out bulk that scissors can't.
thank you for this video, I've given up going to the salons as they get really weird with me when I ask for a pixie. Time to pick up the scissors and get to work myself lol!
Thank you so much for creating this tutorial. I trimmed by hair using the techniques you demonstrated. I also didn't want to use clippers so this video was just perfect for my need.
Love it!!! I've been cutting my own hair since 2013 and really enjoy doing that. You gave me more confidence that (1) I'm doing it correctly and (2) you gave me another technique for cutting that may be even safer and better for the type of cut I want (by cutting the hair beneath the fingers and feathering it out). I love a less-than-neat look in a haircut for me. Thank you!
Thank you, your video helped guide me through maintaining my hair growing out from an undercut and giving myself a bad trim last week. My hair was really bad but thankfully this video and thinning shears really shaped it back to a normal pixie cut and not a bowl cut on top of a mullet...yea it was bad. But this video is awesome! Thanks!! Saved myself $50
I have to say that your video was the best I have seen showing cutting your own hair with a texturing scissor which I use all the time but go online to get some better ideas of how to do it and you gave me more ideas. I had not thought of getting a razor like you have and I will try that; so thanks so much!!
Thank you so much for this video, we need more of these on youtube! I am still a little afraid to trim my pixie myself though, since my hair is much more stiff (maybe thicker?), and I am afraid that it won't react like yours in the video, sticking out in all directions instead of laying down, I wouldn't even know how to cut it in the places where is sticks more out. But this is definitely a big step towards getting the courage to do it, it would save me a lot of money in the long run!
This is great! Very clear and simple explanations. I want to cut all my hair off and get a pixie cut but wasn't intrested in constantly visiting the hairdresser to maintain it. This makes me feel like I could keep it nice and go a little longer between visits. I think I'm going to go ahead and try short hair after all:)
Wow thank you so much. I just have my grandma her first haircut since pre-Covid following your instructions. The softer feathering tips were so helpful. Thank you so much!
THANK YOU. I like to keep my hair short for my restaurant job, but my hair grows fast and needs to be maintained pretty often, which is difficult when I'm perenially broke. A pair of thinning scissors cost the same as a haircut, but now I can do it any time I need to... Plus, it was fun to hack away at all my hair! No idea how it looks in the back but I don't care, as long as it's short XD
This is a fabulous video! I have been gradually going back to my shorter hair during lock down. I have managed to get the front and sides how I like them but I was in need of a good technique to take out the bulk in the back of my hair - I shall try this later this week :) Thanks so much!
Phenomenal skill ! Very well done, girl ! You have inspired me 100%! Not easy, but taking my time I should be able to do something similar. Thank you so much for the detailed tutorial ! 🙏
thank you ,good teacher to teach ,just like teaching a surgical procedure, no wasting of time.thank you.surgery started by barbers to open abscesses, boils and hair cut.you are great ,god bless you.
Absolutely love this haircut! Thank you so much for such a detailed video! I've watched this video before and came back to learn how to handle the thinning shears. I've had a similar pixie cut like this for a year now and want to keep up the look. The sides and the back of my head can get really bulky, and your explanations and tips to manage them are exactly what I was looking for. I wish your salon was somewhere near me, I would have loved to get a haircut from you.
Mine is still looking amazing! You will get some frizzies because of the thinning shears, but that's easily fixable once it grows out and you get it professionally cut. I also have to tell you the color has a lot to do with how it looks. I went dark and it looks better than ever without cutting again :) Let me know how it goes!
WOW! I can't believe I just did THIS!!!! Thank you so much. I'm a former hair model for Miami Beach and I got to be honest with you I haven't had a haircut in like a year because of this covid b*******, and I was letting my hair grow out. then I started bleaching the s*** out of my hair and wasn't able to cut it so I've been doing it myself and I decided that I just wanted to grow my hair back but keep my frosty tips and maybe do a smudge root or Shadow root and just let it grow low maintenance and this is hella awesome you just saved me! You ROCK! Thanks so much!!! Now I have icy Ash White pixie with long at the top like yours... Yay! ❤️🤦🎉😜👍💝🙏🤪😘 this was so unexpected I was going to keep the back lengths. But the second I saw your video, I was like I have to do this! And I have to say I really enjoyed my first shower it felt so different and good and I don't know it kind of lifted my mood. now I need to figure out how to do different styles for pixies with longer tops. your tutorial was excellent especially explaining the overdirecting .
Thanks for the tutorial! I don't like having long hair since it gets in the way a lot. I just need practice cutting the back of my hair because I am horrible at it! I'm scared to trim some areas too short than others or leave a big bald spot. 😅
Thank you so much for the Tips & Tricks you have shown me in this video. Around the ears has always been the hardest for me to trim, now I think I can do. Thanks again
Awesome self-haircut! I wish I could be proficient like you. I have wiry hair, and I started cutting my own hair for the last two years. I saw the ULG set on Amazon last week, and was thinking of buying it. I never used a texturizing scissors before, but your video has inspired me to give it a try.
i just let a friend of a friend of mine to cut my long hair to a pixie haircut and i liked it so i decided to stay with it until i get bored and grow it back sometime in the future so i i’m kinda embarrassed to ask them again if it grows because i feel like i’d annoy them every time i ask.... i’m trying to get uphold my near future before it actually grows & i’ll try to buy the two tools u used and i’ll do it myself when my hair grows back. thanks bestie
although i’m sure you make it look so easy when it’s actually disturbing to do irl i only cut my hair ones by myself and it was for bangs and man when i tell you my hands got vv tense-
My husband is the family barber and stylist, I take a seat every couple months and get my long hair trimmed, my two teen boys get their haircuts every three weeks as they are picky about their hair and like it kept short, but not shaved. So hubby has gotten a lot of experience giving each of my boys over a hundred haircuts each using the good Wahl Designer clippers. A great investment that has paid for itself many times over. We continued our regular schedule of getting haircuts at home, while the hair shops were closed. I saw a couple friends posted pictures on Facebook of haircuts that they attempted at home, results were not so good. I had a couple friends visit to grill on the deck a couple weeks ago, and the topic of hair came up as my one friend mentioned that she needed her hair cut as it had been months since her last one and the bangs in her eyes and the mullet thing on her neck was bugging her big time. She commented that my boys hair looked good and asked how they were keeping their hair so short. I mentioned that hubby gives them their haircuts and she asked if he could give her a haircut. So he got out his bag of barber tools and put a pinstriped cape and a neck strip on her. She asked him to cut her hair short on the back and sides, leave it a couple inches longer on top. So hubby used the clippers with different attachments on the sides and back, then did clippers over the comb cutting on the top. He finished up her neckline with the peanut clippers. My son shop vacuumed up the pile of hair. She felt her head and commented that it felt great with all that hair gone. Hubby is not a big fan of short hair on women, but he did it for her as she is a friend of mine. He commented that cutting short hair is much harder than trimming long hair.
I usually cut my own hair and yes, it is VERY awkward to get it right. Got some great tips from you though. I'm always afraid to use the thinning shears too much, but I could see that I don't have to be afraid to be a bit more aggressive with them.
Wow your hair is so nice and fine. I don't have thinning shears tho >< my hair is reaching my butt now. I guess quarantine days is the perfect time to go pixie!
Chris John Queer people often use haircuts and style to hint to others in the community that we’re queer without outing ourselves. For example a few popular haircuts among queer women are the pixie cut and shag cut. Not that these haircuts are exclusively gay or anything, it’s just a part of the culture.
Thank you for the video of the great haircut. I'm going to give myself my first haircut tomorrow, and my hair looks really a lot like yours. I hope it will look at least half as good as yours when I'm finished trimming it. Thanks again✂💈
Allll I have is scissors lol I did it once and it came out okay gonna try it again! I’ve always liked long hair on others, but I’ve always felt so much better with short hair like this. I like it clean or messy. My hair when really long (even atm) is always up (even when I sleep) at work everywhere. So tonight, it’s coming off!
Thank you for all the love on this video! I've added links in the description box where you can purchase the tools I use! 🙏
You look better in between slight a kind short bob or long pixie to cover your lower face more effectively but certainly never longer than bob length maybe curly bob according to a men.
Well your eye's and eyebrows look beautiful needs some bangs to match up.
Thanks so very much!
I wish I could borrow your hands and tools to trim mine....lol...

As a dude who decided to learn how to cut my own hair but hates the male tutorials that are either razor clean shave or clippers fade, this was by far the best. Thanks a *lot* .
Aww that means so much! I agree, most men's cuts lack movement.
same here!!
I feel your pain, truly.
TY! very clear, no blah blah filler words everything you said was pertinent & useful.
doesn't hurt that your voice is pleasing to the ear, and who doesn't enjoy seeing a lovely face? so, thanks again!
I bought the right texturising scissors and a razor blade cutter on line and did just this. It worked a treat. Thank you for giving me the confidence to just do it. This is the best “DIY how to” video I’ve seen, and my hair feels great again.
That makes me so happy Jill! Thank you for your lovely comment :) Enjoy your new haircut!!
Man, this beautiful woman did that like a complete pro. Dynamic vid. Thanks for sharing!
Haha, thank you, I am a pro 😉 Thank you for your lovely comment!
Welcome! Glad I was able to help. Love your attitude!
@@sklptdhair It's all you. Thanks again.

I've been cutting my own hair since 2011. But this pixie hair cut tips is really useful. Thank you so much ✨
The best self-cutting pixie tutorial on youtube! Explained so well in details!
It's very difficult to find a good hair stylist who are this detailed and artistic. I've had good stylists twice (who aren't available anymore), but most I've found end up giving a weird/unflattering cut. I'll attempt to follow this. Thank you so much! You're the best!
I am watching this repeatedly as I learn how to cut my own hair. It's very helpful.
wow-you nailed this in 7+ minutes. Thanks so much for sharing your how to.
Welcome!
This was incredibly helpful. I’ve been cutting my hair since the pandemic started. I’m relieved to find I have indeed been doing a pretty good job. The bulky parts are difficult, glad to see what to do about that. Going to cut my hair now. Thanks!

Welcome! I get that. For years I cut my own hair because no one was able to give me what I liked or educate me on how to wear my hair.
Thank you for posting this How To... I’d been trimming the front and sides and decided to leave the back until it got urgent. Incredibly easy to follow. In the middle of the lock down I cut my hair and it worked! Thank you for your help!
Amazing! You're welcome!
Thank you so much for creating this tutorial. I trimmed by hair using the techniques you demonstrated. I also didn't want to use clippers so this video was just perfect for my need.

My hair was really bad but thankfully this video and thinning shears really shaped it back to a normal pixie cut and not a bowl cut on top of a mullet...yea it was bad. But this video is awesome! Thanks!! Saved myself $50
Glad I could help!
I have to say that your video was the best I have seen showing cutting your own hair with a texturing scissor which I use all the time but go online to get some better ideas of how to do it and you gave me more ideas. I had not thought of getting a razor like you have and I will try that; so thanks so much!!
You have inspired and encouraged me to cut my own hair.
Amazing!! Glad you found this inspiring!
This is so helpful,. the clearest to understand I've found. Thank you for the help!
You're very welcome!
Wow thank you so much. I just have my grandma her first haircut since pre-Covid following your instructions. The softer feathering tips were so helpful. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much, Leena! I am about to cut my hair for the first time and now I feel much more confident.
You're welcome Beth! I will be coming out with more videos, so stay tuned!!
THANK YOU. I like to keep my hair short for my restaurant job, but my hair grows fast and needs to be maintained pretty often, which is difficult when I'm perenially broke. Phenomenal skill ! Very well done, girl ! You have inspired me 100%! Not easy, but taking my time I should be able to do something similar. Thank you so much for the detailed tutorial ! 🙏
Welcome!
I have the confidence to do this myself.
Gotta buy a 3way mirror
I can not thank you enough for that tutorial ❤worked perfectly and now i am able to trim my pixie myself❤
thank you ,good teacher to teach ,just like teaching a surgical procedure, no wasting of time.thank you.surgery started by barbers to open abscesses, boils and hair cut.you are great ,god bless you.
Glad I could help. I’ll be traveling sometime to do hair so I may come to your city!
Thank you sooooo much! Yours was the only video that showed me how to cut the back without clippers...
Blessings and Merry Christmas 🎄
🦋Lily🦋
This gives me courage. My pixie hasn't seen a salon since before the lockdown and it couldn't possibly look any worse. Maybe I'll take a chance ...
That was brilliant. I need to get a new pair of texture shears. I'm always chopping at my hair and these will help a lot.
Beautiful technique and easy to follow video. Thank you!
The best at home tutorial I’ve seen
Beautifully organized lesson, presentation, editing and cut.
Glad you liked it!
Wow you're so creative, i really admired watching you. Thumbs up and fully watched from Taiwan without skipping ad
Oh my gosh, I never thought of using my thinning shears for tackling my mullet growth! 😂 I know what I'm doing today
☺️
Wow. You made this look effortless. I hope I can do it!
It really is :) Good luck!
Thanks for the tutorial! I don't like having long hair since it gets in the way a lot. I just need practice cutting the back of my hair because I am horrible at it! I'm scared to trim some areas too short than others or leave a big bald spot. 😅
You're so welcome!
This was AMAZING. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. I have to do it solo every few weeks and this was super, super helpful!!!
More than happy to help!!
Dang girl, you NAILED it!
awesome video, thanks!!! I'm having to cut my own hair now so I needed this.
Glad I could help!
This was great. I managed to give myself a pretty decent haircut thanks to this video 💇♀️😉😉.
Yay!! You used thinning shears? Where did you get them from?
@@sklptdhair no, i couldn't find thinning shears. Had to manage with regular scissors! Worked well enough 😁
@@annierichi Oh wow you sound like a pro. I can't even use regular shears for myself lol
@@sklptdhair Haha. I'll take that as a compliment and not argue 😋😋
Great help i was able to cut my mothers hair during this quarantine 😁👍
Glad I helped!
You make it look so easy! Okay here I go...
Im amazed. You cut your own hair and its so beautiful
Thanks so much Jessica! I specialize in pixies
She is a pro!
You’re a professional hairdresser! People attempting to do this are just looking for trouble.
WoW 🎉 Excellent Outcome & a most Outstanding User Friendly Tutorial 🎉 Thank 🙏 You.
Thank you!!!! I'm going to cut my mom's hair and this is super helpful!!!
Oh I'm sooooo happy! Yay!! You're welcome. Let me know how it goes!!
Thank you so much for the Tips & Tricks you have shown me in this video. Around the ears has always been the hardest for me to trim, now I think I can do. Thanks again
You should do ASMR videos. Your voice completely relaxes me! Thanks for the great video!
Maybe one day!
Nice pixie makes hair look nice and fresh ❤
Awesome self-haircut! I wish I could be proficient like you. I have wiry hair, and I started cutting my own hair for the last two years. I saw the ULG set on Amazon last week, and was thinking of buying it. I never used a texturizing scissors before, but your video has inspired me to give it a try.
Go easy and go slow. You will know what your hair likes. Wiry hair doesn't like texture shears so be very careful
i just let a friend of a friend of mine to cut my long hair to a pixie haircut and i liked it so i decided to stay with it until i get bored and grow it back sometime in the future so i i’m kinda embarrassed to ask them again if it grows because i feel like i’d annoy them every time i ask.... i’m trying to get uphold my near future before it actually grows & i’ll try to buy the two tools u used and i’ll do it myself when my hair grows back. thanks bestie
although i’m sure you make it look so easy when it’s actually disturbing to do irl i only cut my hair ones by myself and it was for bangs and man when i tell you my hands got vv tense-
Your tutorial helped me cut my grandma’s hair, thank you so much!
You're more than welcome!! Glad I could help!
This is just unbelievably helpful! Thank you!! ❤
Awesome story!
Wow, you look like Ruby rose's hair.. good video. Tq
You did an amazing job. Well done!
Thank you! It will grow out a bit fuzzy but it'll do for now :)
I usually cut my own hair and yes, it is VERY awkward to get it right. Got some great tips from you though. I'm always afraid to use the thinning shears too much, but I could see that I don't have to be afraid to be a bit more aggressive with them.
Thank You, I did everything you said and it worked out beautifully.
Your hair is really good, thank you for showing me how ❤
This is super helpful. My boyfriend is going to trim my hair tomorrow so I’ll ask him to use this as a guide xx
Let us know how it worked out!!
Wow your hair is so nice and fine. I don't have thinning shears tho >< my hair is reaching my butt now. I guess quarantine days is the perfect time to go pixie!
Wow you wanna chop your hair off yourself!! 😳
This is the most perfect video I've ever seen, as a lesbian who refuses to let anyone but myself cut my hair lol
What does being a lesbian have to do with any of this? Lol.
@@chrisjohn8725 What makes you think she was saying it had anything to do with the video? Lol. She just said "as a lesbian"
Chris John Queer people often use haircuts and style to hint to others in the community that we’re queer without outing ourselves. For example a few popular haircuts among queer women are the pixie cut and shag cut. Not that these haircuts are exclusively gay or anything, it’s just a part of the culture.
Thank you so much. Nice. I tryto do it to my sister.
She’s pretty🙂
Do you have a video on how to cut the length on top if you do want it shorter?
Thank you for this video. It was very useful.
Thank you for the video of the great haircut. I'm going to give myself my first haircut tomorrow, and my hair looks really a lot like yours. I hope it will look at least half as good as yours when I'm finished trimming it. Thanks again✂💈
You can do it!
ty this helped a lot during this social distancing time when we can't get to our stylist for quit a while! 😊👏
Excellent!!
Thank you for this video - I'm trying to fix my youngest adult child's quarantine cut by a pal.

Confiança na sua competência, parabéns
You made it look easy and looks really good and neat
Love your video. This is just what i need for my haircut at home.
Perfect!
A video I hope I could find and found it! Thanks for sharing.
Welcome
Allll I have is scissors lol I did it once and it came out okay gonna try it again! I’ve always liked long hair on others, but I’ve always felt so much better with short hair like this. I like it clean or messy. My hair when really long (even atm) is always up (even when I sleep) at work everywhere. So tonight, it’s coming off!
How did it go?
The haircut was perfect and graceful!
