Fantastic. I always wanted to understand 'how' these babies started up and nice to see how much the engines including ESC/ECU have improved simplyfying the whole start-up and shut-down process. Thanks so much for taking the time and sharing. I learned a lot!
Dennis, thank you. I wish Kingtech would hire me too! Sorry it took so long to reply. I need to be more cognizant that people actually watch my videos haha.
Shoot, I still pull out the leaf blower if nothing more than to "aid" the process! That G3 would pulse or run in cycles during the cool down process. The G4 turbines now just run constantly and then shut down.
First start on the turbine. These smaller units do that more than you'd think. There was nothing to fix. The flames are contained in the thrust tube when inside the aircraft and is quite normal.
@@samiam5697 I am setting up k45 g4+ (brushless starter and pump) but in foam avanti and those flames during startup could damage it(low airflow = low venturi = low cooling) but ok. We'll see... Had flames on my bigger k80, which were caused by air segment in fuel line during initial testing like you did, to familiarize with engine. Seen some smoke during startup in your video 4:25 too and drop of rpm, maybe thats also the case, air?
Howdy, what Sam said mainly. I did talk to Dirk at PCRJ who sold me the turbine new. He saw the video too and said it was completely normal. The next few runs, I didn't get as much flame for sure and there are ways to reduce the fuel pump power in the GSU but I wouldn't touch them without talking to KingTech first. I did watch your video...you definitely got a wet start (turbine is full of fuel). That will disintegrate any airplane, foam or not. In your case, there's some definite tuning you need to do. Call Dirk or Barry for sure!
@@Nitzz97 the bigger one has over 200 flights after that wet start, even made a 45min=10Liter runtime (10 flights with hot refuelling just for fun) Heres my g4+ first start, got it today, yes, also some flames on start, and on throttle up from idle ruclips.net/video/AUYhMz5NShc/видео.html
Hello , thank you for your interesting video, I just bought a K45 G3 also and I find that the deceleration is very slow, can you tell me what your settings are, I have 10 delay acceleration and 15 deceleration, thank you
Howdy. Sorry for the way too long delay in response. My apologies. My settings are straight from the factory and I didn't change them. I strongly recommend you contact Barry at Kingtech or Dirk at PacificRC Jets for help determining your settings. Since COVID, I actually have not installed this in my Mini Avanti yet.

Thank you Scott for the excellent tutorial.
🇬🇧🇬🇧🤝
Great video! Finally, someone who can actually present the highlights of this turbine. Kingtech needs to hire you to present its turbines. Great job.

Awesome video! Thanks, this is exactly what I needed to see.
Glad it was helpful!
Great instructional video👍 Would've been nice to show the telemetry on the Futaba. Maybe next video. 💖
Fair enough good sir. Next video it is.
Hello, i'm brazilian, i always wanted to learn how to connect a remote control to a turbine like this .... help me!!!!😭😭😭
I didn’t recall that there was a cool down mode after shutdown, remember when people pulled out there leaf blowers :)

Whats up with that flame on startup? Inside a plane it could do harm. Did you fix it afterwards?

Value of 10 is equal to 1 second. 35 is good
k45g3 go brrrrrr
