I'm old school and love paper. I have hundreds of paper patterns that look like road maps by the time i'm finished working the pattern. I like to tape clips of the yarn to the pattern page. My daughter who is your age is also a Techie and everything goes on her electronics. I think I worry too that if my electronics crashed I would loose everything. Your channel will do well as you bring a fresh energy to the craft. Love that shawl you are making...very different!!! Enjoy

I'm glad I bring something to the table for the yarny community! I do end up using both electronic and paper. I think I'm just sold on the portability of electronic more personaly.

I like that notion thing at crochet headquarters. I'm always forgetting what pattern i bought which yarn for. Right now I'm trying to write the pattern down and stick it with the yarn. I use a notebook to keep notes and measurements of patterns I'm making

Hi Shantel! I have done a stash book on paper before, but used yarn so quickly, just couldn't keep it up-to-date, so it is very out of date. If you are interested in what system I tried for that, let me know.
As for planning, I do have a physical planner -- but it is very simple and not a traditional knit/crochet one. And I also use the Ravelry queue and project areas at times. Note that you can even set up a Ravelry project for patterns that are not in Ravelry. (I also have entered the hooks & needle sizes, my patterns, and my books that I have in Ravelry so I don't keep buying the same ones -- a bad habit of mine...They do have a yarn stash recording area, but I have never used that)

I've tried both physical and digital... Well the physical is actually just a notebook I got. I found neither worked for me. I tend to use the small yellow notepads to do my normal lists (bills to pay, grocery lists and working lists). Keep track of stitches, rounds and rows and the like. The hook I'm using. Each project has it's own 2 1/2 gallon ziploc bag that the project, yarn, hook and such all get put in when not not working. :)

Hello,I just use a small note book for information while working on a project then when I’m finished all details go into just a regular scribbler…I’m not very tech savvy lol As far as stash… I don’t keep a large amount on hand so I know exactly what I have.Great information you presented…hope you’re having an amazing day!😊🧶🩷

I've designed my own that I keep year and year and put pictures in. I also use Ravelry

A stash book would be good for you to start now. Too late for me.🤣

All books are basically worthless..unless one uses them! For an unorganized person, that planner may be the beginning of a rewarding experience. The book holds 12 project possibilities. not overwhelming... and if used, begin a healthy habit of recording. The paper for the last project can be copied and placed in a binder to continue the positive habit. I thing It depends on the person, the age, and what type of learner they are. I am older, a scattered person and a visual learner. I depend on paper, tangible things I can hold in my hand and refer back to often, Younger people were raised with computers, tablets and phones. I go to my file cabinet, yours is electronic. Not better, not worse...just different!! You are doing very well Shanny and growing your numbers daily.... Congratulations!😘

Thank you Msc! I agree it does depend on the person and age does play a factor. Personally I end up buying notebook after notebook and then find I barely have used some of them and they just sit in my cabinet with all my other books and notebooks lol. With the iPad or computer it's all in one place and I'm not tempted to buy a whole new one when I think it doesn't look neat on the pages.

I don't know how to on Iphones but I can help with an iPad. I use the app Goodnotes and then buy a crochet planner off of etsy that you get a download able file to import to Goodnotes.
