Great demo of the new tools. I'm not on a subscription so I'm hoping that all of these features make it into the regular upgrade. Luminosity masks and object selection especially.
Thanks and yes this is a free update for all users.
@@JimNix glad someone actually has cleared this up. I might just have to change to NEO but we will see. Maybe be selective about which images need things from NEO. Now I have to create a folder for all the YT creators work related to this update. Thanks as usual Jim.
@@phlotographer you're welcome
Thanks for the previews of the new updates. Looking forward to using them. The only down side is it makes me want to go back and redo a bunch of photos.
haha me too, thanks for watching!
Once again, I really like the result of your editing and I'm really looking forward to the new NEO version. However, my head is spinning at the moment because all the manufacturers are constantly releasing updates that make their software better and better. Whether Adobe, Skylum, On1, Topaz ... I'm so busy trying things out that I don't even get to take photos anymore 😅
haha thanks Andreas and my heads spins like this all the time bc I want to make sure I know the products well enough to make videos about them, and it is HARD to keep up - in fact, I haven't kept up 🤣
Nice lesson, some very subtle editing. The magnifier is much better now, I can see the effect on the photo as you edit. Thanks!
thank you for watching!
Thanks Jim, I've been following you since Luminar 2018. Have appreciated your videos.
thanks so much Dan!
Amazing and well explained. Subscribed. Thank you for sharing your huge wealth of knowledge. After watching your videos, I purchased Luminar Neo - can't wait to dive in...
thanks and hope you have fun with it!
These updates look very good! Can't wait to start working with them.
I hope you love it Theo, it's a great update!
Looks great, Jim; Can't hardly wait to get a hold of these. From what I can see in this and the previous video, I think LrC still has the edge in object select accuracy, but this is a .0 release for Neo. Can't wait to see how they grow it...
Thanks Marc and Object Select seems really solid to me but I haven't had time to do comparisons, etc. But to your point, it's the first release and will only improve.
Very informative video can’t wait for the update to be released, thanks!
thanks for watching!
Really looking forward to these new tools, especially the luminosity mask and object select. Thanks for another great video.
thanks for watching and I hope you enjoy the new stuff!
Thanks Jim. Nice work through using the latest version. Looking forward to getting this update.
thanks for watching Ken!
Hi Jim. Always love your tutorials. How did you bunch the tools from the Creative panel and create the Landscape panel?
thanks Florian and Landscape is a new category in the update, so they did that for me 🤣
@@JimNix Looking forward to the update!
@@FlorianCortese hope you have as much fun as I am having with it!
Thanks Jim for the update, can’t wait to get it
thanks Danny!
Belles découvertes,il me tarde de recevoir ces mises a jour, merci Jim a bientôt.
thank you Jean-Francois!
ech kann och letzebuergesch schreiwen, wanns de wells
Great explanation, Jim. I’ve just had my FREE, yes FREE update to my existing Neo software. Others would charge a lot for this update. These changes are amazing and I’m starting to wonder why I have Adobe and Capture One.
thanks much John and yes it is becoming more and more capable for sure, enjoy the update!
Thanks Jim, for your explanation.
thanks for watching Rene!
Great video Jim, many thanks.
thank you Terry!
Can't wait to try it. Lots easier than PS and pretty similar to LR.
thanks Dave and it's great to have this for sure, I bet you will love it!
Hey Jim, great video once again! looking forward to the update 🙂
thanks Dave and hope you are well!
great tuto
thanks Marc!
Thanks Jim, a lot of fine new features
thanks for watching!
Nice job showing all the ways you can use luminosity masks, Jim! And to think, I never once asked for luminosity masks in any of the Skylum questionnaires. 😅 That was certainly a blind spot in my editing knowledge. Here's an idea: can you do a video demonstrating the different ways you can make a photo "come to life"? For example, in this case you probably could've used HDR Merge as a starting point. The resulting image would be different, but would it be noticeably inferior to using luminosity masks?
Thanks Carl and I appreciate it. I love luminosity masks, and my next video dives into them a little deeper. And I like the idea of different ways to make a photo come to life. I've done this one as an HDR too and of course it's always different but it depends on my subsequent edits. I think less of "HDR vs Lum Masks". I use Lum Masks all the time for my edits, even on an HDR. It all works together for me. 😀
You use a Mac and I use a PC so if you can't answer this then just ignore. I notice at 1:08 on your color harmony sliders, it's an immediate change. On my PC which is a custom built, there's sometimes some lag after adjusting a slider before I see the effect of it in the photo. Just a split second lag but enough to be frustrating.
I'm not sure what answer to give honestly. Sometimes I get a little delay here or there but nothing consistent. But that happens in other products too.
@@JimNix It's probably not anything I can fix on my own anyway so that's ok. Thanks for answering
Jim, I don't know if you work with affinity photo, but the new version 1.19 no longer works as a plugin with affinity.
I don't use Affinity, but that is good to know. Hopefully it gets fixed as I am sure plenty do use it.
Hi,
Thank you for all your videos; they have helped me a lot.
One thing I have been struggling with in Luminar Neo for a long time is the Lens Distortion Correction. I find that it's not as good as in other software, and also, I can't find a way to do it automatically. I have to go photo by photo. How do you handle lens corrections?
Hello. When you magnify a picture is it very blurry? I have On1 and LRC and this issue is not present in either of those programs. It started after I updated to this version.
Not for me, it seems to work fine. Perhaps contact their support team.
When will it be released?
April 25 is what I was told
I have tried very hard to follow your explanations about how the new features of Luminar Neo 1.19.0 work, but you make it too confusing. Your speed makes it almost impossible to see what is going on. Could you slow down a bit so we can follow your editions and learn? I'm afraid I did not learn much today.
I sure try to make it clear and you can always slow down the playback speed by clicking the gear icon on the video.
I am not expecting it to work any bett than the last additions Gen Swap, erase and expand which are essentially a wasye of time. example you try to expand a black boarder you either get a message saying your selection is INAPPROPRIATE or it adds a white area with some kind of weird text in it.
Hm, interesting, I haven't tried adding a border like that but good to know.
