This is awesome!! I think it’s really funny that you wrote a queue during the triplet quarters right before the backfield part of the opener ends because I was supposed to play there but I didn’t LOL 😂
@@theweirdweeb567 indeed it is you are correct but also the eight notes following the first part sound a little too coincidental to not either be inspired or to be thrown in for a little nice lick
Mellophone is super easy to overblow/overplay because of how the sound projects (funky bell shape). You almost have to relax into the sound for it to get louder. It's very odd
@@jtstapler My band uses adapters so it can take horn mouthpieces. We also use a specific mouth just for mellos with a bent shank to help us get a good horn angle

@@JR_Productions816 Yeah, that makes sense. I'm sorry to hear about yours. I guess for every Vandegrift and Hebron there has to be a lot more smaller ones.
@@esteban_osman for me both arrangements were fantastic, they probably have some of the best in the whole activity when it comes to their wind arrangers. 2021’s arrangement though I do agree was so memorable and pleasing to the ear, it’s just so rewatchable and the band themselves just were so ON POINT. I also loved how much “heavier” their music felt with how strong Hebron’s low brass was and how the trumpets were able to pierce through it and be the icing on the cake. That church windows opening was next level, even if it was for the most part easier for the band to play probably haha
I forgot to resize a part of the score in the ballad 💀
Do a transcription for the ctj tenor solo
I might be a trumpet player, but mello was the most fun experience with marching. There's just something that hits different with the rips!
It’s just the better instrument
I don’t regret switching to mello best decision I ever made

!!!!!!!!
oh my gosh, i so wish I had a huge school with crazy funding towards the band... I want to be apart of a production like this 💔
You should wish for a band that is fully committed not just well funded.
@nahaight1373 true, although most of the ppl in our program are committed.. we just don't gave a lot of people (especially for 6a)
i started playing mello recently and im so excited bc its such a beautiful instrument
I like to think marching bari is the most fun marching instrument.
bari sax or bari tone?
When you get the years marching music and it sounds awesome but you realize you have to memorize it...
i would love to see if you can transcribe the Western Marching bands 2022 mello part
crying that this isnt me

I think that's another piece called rocket to the moon or something like that. But yes it sounds very similar

3:36 is that a mouthpiece adapter!? I’ve heard about those but never actually seen one, that air must be realy hard to push
Adapters are pretty easy to play with it’s just super easy to overblow/overplay
It’s a Berp 🕺 we do have mellos that are modified to fit french horn mouthpieces though and we play on M1H’s

It’s kinda weird I can make my hum sound like a mello😅
Can you do the sax quartet next ??😊
I’ve played in this stadium
How’d she do this with a French horn mouthpiece, and why’s the lead pipe look like that
We modify our mellos, so that our horn players can use their french horn mouthpieces.
@@jtstapler how do you guys modify it? Is there a certain adapter you use?
@@poptartbakers6117 As I'm a saxophone player, all I know is that they use a different lead pipe than the normal one.
