Yesterday I was on the concert in Chicago because of Katatonia too. I wasn't expecting much from Luna because I have never heard about them before. Too bad I didn't =] It wasn't just listening to music, it was an experience. This atmosphere they create is getting bigger and deeper every minute up to the point when they just completely blow you away with something out of this world. Combining the sound with the lights they build a feeling inside you, the feeling that is never to be explained.
This music is just incredible. A lot of layers and texture. I put this album on when I write and it puts me into a trance. I'm not even in reality anymore.
Saw these guys last night in Toronto... rarely does a band make me forget that I'm seeing a concert and instead take me on such a journey. They weren't headbanging because it's "the metal thing to do." They lost themselves in the music. THAT is what a concert is all about.
This band is something you should experience live, not listening to a record. Before going to the show I searched for them on youtube and it was something like "oh, okay, whatever". Now it is "Oh my God! I need more! Now!"
I was there too. I mainly went for Katatonia and never really paid much attention to Cult Of Luna but when they came on stage they blew me away. I wouldn't mind going to see them live again.
*Nerdy voice* its not jazzy progressive stuff, its progressive blackened jazzcore with influences from djent mathcore, melodic death hardcore, and indie post-hardcore....god! Get your facts right!
I was there as well, and I've put off listening to these guys for far too long. I knew about these guys but only listened to them a couple days before the gig. Before the gig I wasn't sure how I'd react so to speak, but it was amazing and was completely engaged just watching (not headbanging, etc). I didn't know it but it was they're first time here in 8 years, glad I got to see them.
The fact that after six full-length LPs Cult of Luna can still deliver an opus as challenging, engrossing and intricately layered as Vertikal is a testament to the abilities of this Swedish collective; a band who have now earned their place as one of the most essential in progressive metal.
I also loved how one of the drummers would just pull out random instruments like a triangle or maracas and start playing them. It's like they try to incorporate everything in their music.
This sounds fucking awesome. I'm only just getting into all this post-hardcorey stuff like Isis and Neurosis. I will definitely be buying this album when it comes out!
My buddy and I went also mainly for Katatonia. I checked out the other bands prior. Not being real Screamo fans we weren't expecting to be completely absorbed by their show and music. The keys they play in and the dark theme were truly original.
This band is amazing. They never disappoint and whilst I have listened to the new album several times I am sure there will be more epic majesty revealed on the next several listens
I discovered that I do not remember how, probably by any emission and by pure chance. Depis I discover and hear clearly musical genius !!!! J'ai découverts ça je ne me rappelle plus comment , probablement par le biais d'une émission quelconque et par pur hasard . Depis je découvres et entends clairement du génie musical !!!!!!!!
if you asked the guys in the band they would probably tell you it isn't anything that you think it is - none of these guys are really in a particular scene or associate with any genre, this is just the music they make
When i first discovered ISIS i thought that they were the best band ever, and in ways they still are. But there is something i really dig about Cult of Luna.
I feel the same way. Both are great in their own way. I’ll never tire of their music. Every time I think I know it, I notice something new to appreciate. That’s the sign of true craftsmanship.
Amazing depth, incredible layers of music and vocals, just fucking unbelievable metal. Vertikal is going to be the heavy music album of the year in 2013. Support these guys, buy the album!
I was finished listening to a song by Russian Circles and i tapped on this video cuz I needed another song to listen to but it scared the shit out of me the second I heard it...
Yeah Mastodon is pretty bad ass..... Those old bastards just kick ass but Cult of Luna the more I listen to them the more I am starting to like them over other bands
ChuckSchuldinerisGod BOTH!!!! IT IS REQUIRED TO LISTEN TO BOTH!!! AND TO EVERY OTHER AMAZING SONG AS WELL. CHECK OUT U-ZIQS LUNATIC HARNESS ALBUM IF YOU HAVEN'T ALSO GOOD MUSIC. JUST FUCKIN LISTEN TO AS MUCH GOOD SONGS AS POSSIBLE WE DON'T KNOW WHEN WE GO
Buen trabajo, pinta muy bien la grabación, me gusta la idea que tienen de sludge atmosferico, normalmente da weba pero si lo supieron llevar. Chido, saludos desde Mexico.
Fuck Yeah i got the album now my set is complete.... Never ever have i felt so emotional as when they just break it down classic heavy heavy breakdown. i could work sleep drive eat fuck chill even talk to my mother listening to this song.... Its a brutal masterpiece
Dopesmoker by the band Sleep, Matt Pikes other band who aren't High On Fire, that song comes in at just over an hour long, it's a legendary piece search it and read the story behind it, Also check out Earthless another awesome band who do really long instrumental pieces, such as "Sonic Prayer" and BTW the album Holy Mountain by Sleep is one of the finest stoner metal/rock albums in existence! FACT! search I dono....Dragonaut is a good on to vibe offa, Enjoy!
Rosetta is still in full swing. Pelican is tentatively out of commission for now. Other great additions are Mouth of the Architect, Tides, Jesu, and Kerretta. Earthless doesn't entirely fit in with this, but still very good instrumental.

Michael Davis Check out Anaesthetic Inhalation Ritual and Void Mother, by Obscure Sphinx.
Machete Moonlight the metropolis
they just get better and better with every album...
This comment has not aged well =P
Only Oui FM (radio) in France can be proud to broadcast this kind of music. They're just amazing (both Oui FM and Cult Of Luna). Just excellent.

The guitar bit at ~3:25 makes my body happy
This band is something you should experience live, not listening to a record.

Now it is "Oh my God! I need more! Now!"
This was my very first song I heard by Cult of Luna back in high school in 2012 and still to this day I'm absolutely blown away by how great they are.
This band is the best band i've heard in 10 years and I've been to metal/rock for a looong time.
I was there too. I mainly went for Katatonia and never really paid much attention to Cult Of Luna but when they came on stage they blew me away. I wouldn't mind going to see them live again.
Man, Cult of Luna is just divine. So excited for the rest of this album.
Just listened to this band for the first time. Jazzy, progressive, emotive stuff!
*Nerdy voice* its not jazzy progressive stuff, its progressive blackened jazzcore with influences from djent mathcore, melodic death hardcore, and indie post-hardcore....god! Get your facts right!
***** ))))))
***** That's a cool story bro
This I call a masterpiece of music.
For me, their best song. Everything great about them comes together here.

holy fuck i lost track of this band after eternal kingdoms, just rediscovered and this new album is mindblowingly good
I heard them on the radio WSOU in New Jersey. Awesome.
Hearing that this has been played on BBC radio 1 has given me a bit of hope for humanity.
Seeing Cult of Luna on Tuesday and I'm told I have to work. Easy choice.
This sounds fucking awesome. I'm only just getting into all this post-hardcorey stuff like Isis and Neurosis. I will definitely be buying this album when it comes out!
This is perfection
Vu au Motocultor 2016 , une vrai révélation, en Live c'est grandiose
I just stumbled upon this. And i just thought this morning "I need some new music to listen to" Well. I found one and its perfect!
Indeed. If you dont already know them check out Mouth Of The Architect & Amia Venera Landscape as well.
Best live show I've ever seen, without doubt.
Never has daytime radio been so good.
This band are incredible live.Just see them when they tour your town.
Loved hearing this on BBC Radio 1 just now.
I have to say this is the first time Ive ever liked a band with hardcore vocals. The instrumentals are amazing in and of themselves.
I like the extensive use of synths from COL. Less of an atmosphere effect like many bands use, more a part of the music. Awesome.
God I love this song.
Satan... I love this song !!
Krishna I love this song.
Whoa, edgy
Incredible song and that outro is just so good.
beautiful masterpiece
My buddy and I went also mainly for Katatonia. I checked out the other bands prior. Not being real Screamo fans we weren't expecting to be completely absorbed by their show and music. The keys they play in and the dark theme were truly original.
This song is beautiful, epic and brutal, what else can we ask for ? damn ! why don't they get higher recognition ?
This band is amazing. They never disappoint and whilst I have listened to the new album several times I am sure there will be more epic majesty revealed on the next several listens
Oui, ça passe parfois durant l'émission de la nuit, Bring The Noise, entre 23h et 2h du mat'. (Lundi - Jeudi)

Holy moly, can't wait 29 to come and after that, March, when I\ll be seeing 'em playing this live.

So incredible
Hope the full album will sound as good as this track !
far and away the best band in the world.
i was also there. i got completely consumed by their stage presence it was crushing. that light show was unbelievable. katatonia destroyed it also!
Yes!!!!! Lisboa Tonight!!!!!!
They get better every album
Probably the best show on Summerbreeze last week.
To infinity and beyond!!!!!!

I was finished listening to a song by Russian Circles and i tapped on this video cuz I needed another song to listen to but it scared the shit out of me the second I heard it...

I think I'll watch the DVD tonight...
Love the outro
I couldn't agree more!
can't wait for full album ;)
Agreed!
Note to future self, the song that this reminds you of is What Dwells Within by Sylosis. Stop forgetting about that song!
This band kicks ass in so many different levels!!!!!!
Question for you guys:
Mastodon or Cult of Luna?????
Personally for me it's mastodon, but you can't go wrong with either one
Yeah Mastodon is pretty bad ass..... Those old bastards just kick ass but Cult of Luna the more I listen to them the more I am starting to like them over other bands
ChuckSchuldinerisGod mastodon are the one i choose to listen to on a whim more, i have to be in a special kind of mood to digest a CoL album
ChuckSchuldinerisGod BOTH!!!! IT IS REQUIRED TO LISTEN TO BOTH!!! AND TO EVERY OTHER AMAZING SONG AS WELL. CHECK OUT U-ZIQS LUNATIC HARNESS ALBUM IF YOU HAVEN'T ALSO GOOD MUSIC. JUST FUCKIN LISTEN TO AS MUCH GOOD SONGS AS POSSIBLE WE DON'T KNOW WHEN WE GO
Cult of Luna
good one...
My best friend thinks this music is depressing. And depressing it is. I love it.
This song is pretty motivating though
Weird. I think it is so relaxing, almost mediative.
Lovely,
Buen trabajo, pinta muy bien la grabación, me gusta la idea que tienen de sludge atmosferico, normalmente da weba pero si lo supieron llevar. Chido, saludos desde Mexico.
wow, this is stunning. brought here by Hacride's sign-on to Indie Recordings.
Immense.
oooo sa c'est du lourd, la fin post rock est enorme
Gooooood? That was MINDBLASTING¡¡¡¡¡
dan p carter, its a radio 1 takeover and it's awesome. 1pm he's back on today!

Didn't expect anything less from these guys. Fucking amazing song once again. Very excited to get this album.
I'm new to the sludge, and post-metal genras but I gotta say that I like these guys sound a little bit better than isis, pelican, or neurosis.
Seeing them tonight and I am so fucking excited.
Pstereo in Trondheim, can't wait
Fuck Yeah i got the album now my set is complete.... Never ever have i felt so emotional as when they just break it down classic heavy heavy breakdown. i could work sleep drive eat fuck chill even talk to my mother listening to this song.... Its a brutal masterpiece
Seconded Rosetta are brilliant !
The best thing happened to me lately is meeting with Luna
It has nothing to do with screamo -.-' get your shit together.
Try "Saetia" or "Raein" if you're looking for screamo.
Clearly they wandered into the "real" metal section on accident!
I wonder if Cult of luna still do the naked huddling before live shows.
You should check out Callisto. :)

Ok, donc merci infiniment !
Work ofc
Isis is Isis, CoL is CoL. I Love both.
lol!? has this ever been on the radio? :O
You made the right decision in going to see them
Good Shit !! Like always !
Rosetta is still in full swing. Pelican is tentatively out of commission for now. Other great additions are Mouth of the Architect, Tides, Jesu, and Kerretta. Earthless doesn't entirely fit in with this, but still very good instrumental.
Sounds like "Chemtrail - The King" with vocals. Outro is almost identical.
Yob has a twenty-some minute song on their most recent album
New PR music.... fuck yeah!
probably at zero'oclock when most people are asleep - that's the only time they'll ever play heavy stuff. sucks but at least it gets SOME airtime
haha well played sir, well played.
is this a new cult of luna album?
