My mom exaggerates literally everything. She sees dogs as cute physical possessions, not pets or living creatures really. So she finds it odd that me and my sister treat our dogs like actual animals that we love (aka petting, kissing, hugging, praising etc) Like the idea that my sister cried over her dog getting hurt was genuinely confusing and hilarious/parhetic to her. And since she is a insane liar and loves to gossip to hell and back, this is just a recope for disaster. Essentially she sees us giving our dogs a belly rub as us “rubbing their crotch” and us kissing their noses as “licking them” etc So essentially, even though no ones ever told us to our face, i’m 85% sure our relatives just think me and my sister are some crazy freaks who are into beastiality or some shit 🙃 Either that or (since they’re her relatives too) they’re aware of how much she lies and exaggerates to the point where they just roll their eyes at everything shes saying deep down 💀

I love how my experience is the complete opposite. My mum used to talk about how she has an awful child and praise other kids, like she wanted the other person to feel bad for her. She'd tell my every flaw and mistake and how she wanted a perfect child. Meanwhile, other parents praised their kids and after the guests went home, she'd yell at me about how others are soooo much better and why I can't be more like that so she doesn't feel embarrassed the next time she talks about me.
