@@grinderhousecoffeeshopllc6954 The opening song hits man. I love the song "Stand by Me", and Steven Wilson Jr.'s album is incredible. The good artists make great albums, and the greatest artists, sound better in person than in a studio. Thank you for sharing this with us!
BADASS!!!! my friend you are awesome!!!!! I'm sooooo glad you are going to be a part of my life. Watching and ROCKIN my hollers right now here in the WNC Appalachian Mtns , Haywood County under the Wolf Moon!!!! KEEP ON KEEPIN ON!!!!!!
JUST 2 guys creating this much mood and vibe! That pedal playing is so tasty. This guy is misfiled under "country" IMO. I've never heard anyone rock a nylon string so hard.
Each and every song he has written has so much meaning and has touched me. He is a great songwriter and singer and a great performer. Keep up the good work.
Stumbled upon Cuckoo on social media a couple weeks ago an finally gave son of dad a listen a couple days ago and now i just cant get enough! Hoping i dont have to wait too long for dates in CT or Western Mass!
Yeh I did the same, stumbled on 1994 I think, had son of dad on repeat for a few days now and I'm blown away. I'm in Australia, hoping so hard he might find his way down here one day
I would trade the last ten shows I was at to have been in that coffee shop. That'd include Springsteen, Neil Young the Killlers, David Gray. It's fuckn crazy how good SW Jr is
You're not kidding.would kill to see him in a small listening room like that. Crowd seems kind of subdued, someone should check their pulses. I would be losing my shit if I was there!
I discovered SW jr a month or two ago, and I've playing his album on repeat since then. I'm already a fan all the way down in South Africa. The raw power of the music and the hard hitting lyrics are timeless and something that is not heard anywhere else. Thank you @Grinder House Coffee Shop, LLC for posting this performance on RUclips. I feel privileged to even just watch the show here. It feels like I was there in person from half way on the other side of the world.

😮I have not enjoyed enjoying a new sound of music this much since rediscovering Steely Dan a little while ago. I'm an old guy but was ready for a reincarnation of what Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson gifted us all by their pure and amazing song writing genius. Hand that over and reimagine it in SWjr style of intensity and you've got something that is very, very deep and wide.
Stephen Wilson, Jr. is the real deal!!! So humble annd sooooo talented. We thank him at 53:26 when he recognized Grinder House for what we are doing with our weekly listening room shows!
This rendition of The Devil gave me chills! I've heard the song many times on his album but hearing it raw like this just shows me what a great artist he is. Not been this excited about new music for a loooong time. Thanks Grinder House for exposing him to the world💯
I discovered John Prine riding out to the rig at 4:30 in the morning on a cold Oklahoma morning when my Driller popped the John Prine 8 track in the player. 1979-20 years old, Derrick Hand. I discovered Stephen Wilson, Jr. driving to a rig in Oklahoma. 2024, 64 years old; Petroleum Landman. Two of the greatest songwriters of all time. I am so glad I discovered this young man. I look forward to seeing him in OK City in person in September, 2024. True God Favored talent.
SWJ is hairs on the back of your neck stuff.... what an incredible voice. What incredible songs. Will be heading to catch him in the US next year, even if it has to be a 24 hour stop over (I'm in London/Kent in the UK).
I’ve been following Stephen since he was lead guitar for a band called AutoVaughn. He was probably in his mid to late 20’s back then. He had a mint green Fender Stratocaster with duct tape holding the guitar strap on. I asked him why he had tape on such a nice guitar and he said his strap broke in a show so he taped it and liked how it felt so he kept it that way.
He and I are about the same age and all the things he talks about in his music and even when he is talking about how “Stand By Me” and the Stephen King Movie always freaked him out . My parents wouldn’t let me watch it to start with and finally after a year or so did and somehow it made the film and everything about it kinda darker and heavier than it probably was. I amplified it in my head I guess.
I found you on tick tock I believe. To say being blown away was an understatement. I immediately started streaming your channel on Pandora and bought the Vinyl version of your album. I think you are the bomb Sir!! Eccentric like me and very talented unlike me. Please don't change a thing and stay true to yourself because you're going to have people pulling you in different directions. I don't envy your notoriety but do envy your skills. Thanks for giving us this part of your life and please get to know Jesus if you don't know him yet. PS I can understand why your steel player is your best Buddy. He's very talented too!!
This is so good! Discovered Stephen couple of weeks ago, and been kind of obsessed with his music, playing son of dad and all the RUclips stuff on repeat. Such incredible talent. Hoping and begging you find your way to Sweden for some shows! 🙏🏻
Real Deal! Saw him live with Joss Stone in Greensburg, PA last week. Love your place (on screen) side note: I once owned a place called Grindhouse Coffee & Tea Co. We had brews daily 40 to choose from, 50 loose leaf teas, 40 grilled sandwiches with fresh baked bread. And, live music. Unfortunately, complications with the owner of the building compelled me to not renew my lease. It all worked out though. But, that's another story.
Stephen Wilson, Jr. = passion, authenticity, originality. amazing guitar work, great lyrics, strong vocals! I have his CD on replay, replay, replay and love this man's work!
I stumbled upon Stephen Wilson Jr. about three weeks ago and all I can say is…WOW!!! What an artist! I don’t know why, but I just have this feeling like his music is what the world needs right now other than believing in Jesus Christ (1 COR 15:1-4). His cover of “Stand by Me” is what we need to do now regardless of our differences.
Not sure if it's by design (he's obviously inspired by Cobain) but he sounds like a bluegrassy version of Kurt with the melodic genius of Lewis Capaldi.
This man gives the music scene hope.
This is the best new music I've heard in at least a decade!
That Stand By Me opener was absolutely fire.
Dude...listen to the version from The Print Shop podcast. Chill bringer, for sure.
@@eltrain8694 that's the one that brought me here. Now I have a new obsession...

Your music is like a loud thunderstorm man. You don't just hear it. You feel it and get touched by it.
Please come to Sweden❤
the rhythm here is sick! you cant teach this. What this guy is doing is the real deal. sky is the limit!
Master of that cat gut.. one of a kind feller. Guitar is an extension of his body, mind, and soul. Something any musician aspires to.
WHEN IS HIS NEXT SHOW THERE. SIGN ME UP
Me too! I want to see him in a smaller venue and this place is perfect! I would travel from northern Indiana in a heart bear to see him here.

great, would love to know what effects your non pedal steel player is using, I’m a Pedal Steel player. 1st songs in the key of C
Just saw him in a small night club in New York venue capacity 190 people show was insane
Wrecked that coffee house
I don’t they realized who they were listening to.
Oh yes, we knew!!! Reason he played here twice!!
We told him to be loud!!! His music warrants a great sounding venue
Amazing artist! Gonna be BIIIIIG! who's the guy on the slide guitar?
Scotty Murray on the steel
anyone know what pedal Steven uses for the bass drum in holler?
The lap steel player deserves a mention. Fella can rip. Scotty Murray.
He is fantastic. Perfect fit style wise.
That pink cake was actually cuckoo
Stephen takes the mic @ 4:04
Is that Matt Jackson on keyboard?
Well, is it? 🙂
No
“Judy zip it”
Not sure if it's by design (he's obviously inspired by Cobain) but he sounds like a bluegrassy version of Kurt with the melodic genius of Lewis Capaldi.
Americana Marty McFly
He sounds a bit like Bruce Springsteen
These low energy audience members are killing me...
there is a place called starve hollow in Jackson County Indiana where he's from
Fantastic chaps!
