Great boutique hotel, but…
This hotel is in a great location and has 165 rooms. It’s very close to the Empire State Building and Maddison Square Gardens. For reference, at the time of stay, I hold a Titanium Elite Status with Marriott Bonvoy loyalty programme and I will explain the benefits that apply to this hotel as I go along.
Check in was pleasant - we arrived around 7-8pm in the evening. The bellman, Barry, was so friendly and joyous! We booked a room with 2 double beds as there were 3 of us (adults) sharing.
If you are an elite member, platinum, titanium or ambassador, you will have the choice of a welcome amenity of points or breakfast. Read below for more details on the breakfast.

Our room was on the 15th floor and had just enough space for 2 double beds with a little space in between for a side table and a little space in between the bathroom wall and bed for a further small side table. Opposite the bed was a table with 2 bottles of complimentary drinking water, a 55” TV and a good area to work on an iPad or laptop. There was no tea or coffee.
In the wardrobe there was a bathrobe, some hangers, what looks like a steamer (perhaps for pressing) and a safe. However, I didn’t see an ironing board or iron - perhaps this is what the steamer is for?
The bathroom was tiny! There was no door separating the bathroom to the bedroom. Therefore, privacy is based on trust! The bathroom consisted of a good sized shower cubicle, a good sized sink and toilet. There were 2 glasses, a few amenities, plenty of towels, shower amenities (shampoo, conditioner and body wash) and a hair dryer. We noticed that there was only one hook to hang your towel (to dry after showering) and a little shelf space to put your own toiletries. The water pressure/force was quite good in our shower.
The hotel has one restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast is served between 06:45 to 11:00. The staff are quite strict on the 11:00 closure as the restaurant needs to begin preparation for lunch.
Breakfast is served via a menu and not a buffet. This means you pay for each item ordered and you can see the menu in the video.
If you are an elite member, platinum, titanium or ambassador, and chose breakfast as your welcome amenity at check in, you will be given a $38 USD voucher to use towards breakfast. If you are sharing your room with another person or two, you will be given 1 additional voucher with the same value. Vouchers are dated so be sure to check you have the right dated voucher before heading to breakfast. Any unused value left in the vouchers will be lost as there is no rollover.
For lunch and dinner, the restaurant has an Italian menu but apart from salad, no vegan options as the ingredients in the pasta used to make any dish contains egg.
The restaurant is called Allora, which I understand is an outside company renting the space within the hotel and working with the hotel. Allora also operate the onsite bar. The bar has some bar seating with more seating in the lounge areas located just next to both the bar and restaurant.
Unfortunately, there were no happy hour promotions.
There is a small onsite gym/fitness centre with limited equipment but is accessible 24 hours a day.
The staff at this hotel are very friendly and joyful. For me, this was the highlight as was the breakfast and location.
My overall opinion is that this is a nice hotel, especially if you are solo traveller or a couple. But if there are 3 or 4 of you sharing, it might be a squeeze.
