Do you know how the fret spacing for the mini ii compares to the original mini? I play baritone uke and love the 20" scale, specifically because of the fret spacing. It is noticeably different?
@mr.schrecker - Hi, the mini II has longer fret spacing, it feels more comfortable than a full-size guitar, but you’ll definitely feel the difference between the 20 inch scale. In addition you feel the length in your left arm reaching away from your body. So more weight in your left shoulder reaching out. It will give you more projection/volume than the 20 inch - the regular mini - But you will still need to bring a little mini amp with you if you want to play with a bunch of people that have full size guitars, and be heard. For me, it is worth having and this size has become my preferred travel guitar for going to jam sessions and so on. Hope that helps.
@Onyxyoutube-p7t. Yes, they sound different but mostly because of the Tonewood instead of the laminate vs solid. The MH is all laminated and I actually prefer its sound over the EB which has the solid top. However, since the EB has the cutaway and the electronics, I play that one way more. But keep in mind that they both take nylon strings and they are smaller bodies so they’re not gonna be as loud as a full-size steel string guitar if you’re playing with other people. You’ll need to bring one of those little mini amps like the little honey tone to project the same volume. Hope that info helps.

@@fretfrontier - yes it is still mahogany (sorry i wrote maple while thinking mahogany) but I think the regular mahogany sounds much better. I was wondering if you compared both side by side. @@fretfrontier I bought a Cordoba Mini II CE. It's going to need some work but I think I will like it once I'm done. Hi, I just bought a Cordoba mini II EB-CE Spruce Ebony from Amazon. I already have another Cordoba C-9. I bought this Mini just to practice inside my Semi truck in my free time. By the way I just loved you played this blue and I really would love to know the name of this blues song. Because I want to learn it. Thank you for your helpful video. God bless you.
@Marco Defreitas - thank you so much! The blues I was playing was not any Song. It’s just riff based accoustic blues where you just kind of come up with some groove to play on the base strings and try to weave a melody on top of it. The closest I have to something tabbed out on that at the moment is in the lesson series I’m doing on acoustic blues played on baritone uke. if you’d be interested in viewing those, let me know and I’ll put a link in the comments cause baritone uke is basically tuned like the first four strings of the guitar. In any case I hope your cordoba mini II EB brings you much playing enjoyment! I actually got my replacement cordoba mini II MH from Amazon, and that one worked out! Thanks for watching!
@Marco Defreitas - wonderful, here is the link. ruclips.net/video/wkXmOhf0au8/видео.html it’s pt1 of the series. there are four parts out there so far with a separate play along episode that puts everything together from parts one through four. You can follow the links in the descriptions to navigate from episode to episode. I hope you find it helpful! Again, it’s key of D because it’s on the baritone uke but you can play all the lessons exactly the way they are on the first four strings on a guitar. if there’s some interest, I’ll do some specific to guitar later. I love Accoustic blues! Thanks for stopping by!
@monaissam5607 - yes, the mini II is a very good choice for a beginner. The body and neck are smaller than a full sized guitar but not so much smaller that will be feel too much different, it should actually feel easier/more comfortable to play.
2022.03.27 - hi I had a comment here that I was responding to that somehow vanished from RUclips. I just wanted to let the person know whoever commented here today that it was a RUclips issue and I appreciate your comment. I hope you end up seeing this note. 😧
Hi! How is the fret spacing on this guitar, especially when playing chords? Do the fingers feel scrunched? Also, does the body feel too bulky? I have a Yamaha C40 guitar and it feels too bulky and uncomfortable for me.
@letshuman8985 - Hi, the fret spacing is very comfortable. I’m not sure you will feel a lot of change overall if the C40 seems bulky to you. I have not played the C40 but according to online specs that is a full sized classical. There is quite a big difference between my full size classical in my mini II. But I’m seeing less of a difference between the C40 and mini II. Here’s what I see: C40 scale length is 25.56inches. On the mini II it will be 22.875 inches and it is not a scrunched feeling at all. The nut width on the full size classical is 2 inches and on the mini II it’s 1.87. You might feel either more comfortable or slightly out of wack when you finger pick as you can tell a difference with the fine motor movements but it is not a difficult adjustment. On the body depth oddly enough Online specs indicate that the C40 is 3.33 inches. The mini II is 3 inches so not a lot of difference there. so the mini II will be shorter but it doesn’t sound like it will be much thinner. If you go with the mini two, you might want to get one with a cut away so you at least feel that advantage of easier access to the upper frets. From what you describe though, overall, you might be happier with the regular mini, the one that is the size of a baritone ukulele. The scale on that is as small as you can go without feeling scrunched. Stay away from the tenor sized Guitalele that is very compressed pass the 5th fret. Hope that helps.
Good afternoon, is there an anchor in the neck of the guitar? Is it worth worrying that in the future there may be problems with the neck of the guitar, I plan to buy cordoba mini 2 ec-be :) sorry for my english, i know a little 😅
Hi, you mean truss rod? Both the mini IIs MH and EB have a truss rod to help with neck adjustment if any bow occurs. I did have some lifting on the bridge after two years on the EB but a luthier (or guitar tech at guitar store) can re-glue. I have had no neck problems on either guitar. I hope that helps. let me know if I misunderstood the question.
@@fretfrontier Yes, that's right, truss rod. Thank you very much, you helped a lot 😁. i have watched your videos and also many other videos on youtube but i am not completely clear, this guitar has a standard tuning but what about the sound, is it close to classical 4/4 guitar? some people say it sounds more like a ukulele sound, is that true?
Hi, I wouldn’t compare this to ukulele sound as the mini II series is meant to be tuned E to E and uke sound (except for the baritone) are A to A (capo 4th fret comparison with guitar). however since this is 1/4 size and not a high end build it will not resonate like a full size high end guitar. I have a video that compares the EB with a full size guitar, I’ll put the link here so you can hear sound sample… ruclips.net/video/4Qb4t1ROKFg/видео.html Notice though that since the EB-CE has the electronics, amplified it is very lovely and does display depth of tone. hope that helps!
you mentioned you did a little fret sanding? how do you do that? I... didn't know that was a thing and I have a puerto rican instrument that needs something like that badly.
@SassyTesla - Thanks for stopping by! I demo the task of how to deal with sharp frets in my ‘give your Uke some TLC’ video. it’s the same process for the guitar. Here is the link… ruclips.net/video/btmi9Vt2Mb4/видео.html Hope it helps you out!
My eyes fell on this in a store. I ran my fingers across the strings and just had to bring it home . It didn't occur to me to ask what kind of strings I need when I go replace them. Would regular d'Addario classical guitar strings be ok?
@pradip pradhan - congratulations on your new MH! I hope it brings you much playing enjoyment. so according to the cordoba specs it comes with: Savarez Cristal Corum High Tension 500CJ. They are ok, but I prefer low tension, so when I changed mine I put on the Augustine classic black low tension. When it comes to strings, personal preference can go a long way in making the guitar even more fun to play. The ones you suggest should be fine! Enjoy! 🎶🎉
Congratulations 👏👏 in my country Chile 🇨🇱 they don't sell guitars like the yamaha apxt2 and the baby taylors are very expensive. I bought the Cordoba mini II MH and it's coming home tomorrow. I hope I'm not wrong. any recommendations how to lower the bridge? cordial greetings 😃 Sorry my Bad English
@fernando Gonzalez Monsalve - how exciting! I hope your cordoba mini II MH brings you much playing enjoyment! hopefully you won’t have to adjust the bridge, but if you have to or want to, I did a RUclips video on how to do an instrument set up. I demo on a ukulele but the same activities apply to guitar. here is the link - ruclips.net/video/btmi9Vt2Mb4/видео.html - it’s called how to give your uke some TLC and it will show you how to adjust the bridge, as well as the nut slots to get your action lowered. It will also show you how to deal with sharp frets. I hope it helps you out. Let me know how it goes!
Hi, thanks for such a great video. Can you telll me the Action height of the strings of both of your guitar on the 12th fret on both the 1st and 6th string? Mine came with 3mm on both sides and im thinking on lowering it a bit.
@German A. Navarro B. - Hi, 3 is not bad, but it’s personal preference. I tend to skate the edge and like very low action. So, on my EB (which I had longer) the 12th fret at the 6th string is 2.75 and 2.50 at the first string. but I had to fiddle with it over a series of months to get it quite that low so it didn’t buzz. In other words I would adjust the saddle, play it for a few weeks, inspect the neck bow maybe adjust trust rod, etc. little by little, so it’s was not ‘one and done’. I went thru a few string changes before I got it there. on the MH looks like 3.25 at the 6th and about the same at the 1st… just a hair lower. But that was as factory set, I have not adjusted my MH yet and yes, it does feel a little high, but it’s still comfortable to play unless I bend strings, then it’s like I am going underneath the string above it, so I will bring it down at some point. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching!
Cordoba claims both the EB-CE and MH weigh the same. Interesting that you find the EB-CE more neck heavy. I find the MH equally as heavy so I prefer a headstock strap, not the button under the neck.
@ALIENsosa - yes, body design can make the balance feel different even when overall weight is same. Good point on the headstock straps vs the under neck button - agreed. On acoustic instruments I also tend to skip the under neck button.
I just found out about this model by trying it at a store and i really liked it. Finding from your channel about the EB version. Sometimes the acoustics and feeling is not as nice in the electrics ones. How do you compare them both ? do you find you end up preferring one over the other ?
@al3xandr3 - for all practical purposes I prefer the EB with the electronics because it has my all favorite things in a guitar: a cut away for upper fret access, can be easily amplified, sounds decent strummed and clean when playing solos, and has a solid wood top. Yet I was initially disappointed in the sound of the EB. New out of the box, the MH has the nicer sound. The EB did improve over time, maybe because of the solid top. Also, it came with high tension strings and they sounded pretty bright. The tone on the EB warms up with the Augustine low tension. In the end, if I was going to have just the one, it would be the EB-CE. I do have one of each now though… guitars 🤤… can we have too many? 🤔… anyway, I hope that helps, let me know what you decide, and thanks for watching! 🎶
@Canny - Hi, not at this time, but you can check back later. Or if you’d like to email me I can let you know when I start. thank you for your interest and thank you for watching! 🎶🎶
Hi, I think you are asking me about secondhand or used guitars please forgive if my translation was bad. I have a few guitars I bought used and like them. in both cases they turned out to be good deals but I did get them from guitar stores rather than from individuals. One of them I was able to play first. in both cases, I couldn’t get them new as they had been discontinued by the manufacturer. sometimes you can get a good deal but it is safest if you can try it first or are getting it from a guitar store that will exchange or return it. I hope I answered your question. Thank you for watching!

Again, it’s key of D because it’s on the baritone uke but you can play all the lessons exactly the way they are on the first four strings on a guitar. if there’s some interest, I’ll do some specific to guitar later. I love Accoustic blues! Thanks for stopping by!

is mini guitar a good choice for a beginner? is it a good choice?
@monaissam5607 - yes, the mini II is a very good choice for a beginner. The body and neck are smaller than a full sized guitar but not so much smaller that will be feel too much different, it should actually feel easier/more comfortable to play.
2022.03.27 - hi I had a comment here that I was responding to that somehow vanished from RUclips. I just wanted to let the person know whoever commented here today that it was a RUclips issue and I appreciate your comment. I hope you end up seeing this note. 😧
Can you put all steel strings on this guitar?
@alaskan6384 - Hi, no it is made for nylon strings. But if you want a crisper sound you can use higher tension nylon.
Great information, thanks.

Here is the link… ruclips.net/video/btmi9Vt2Mb4/видео.html
Hope it helps you out!
I hope I'm not wrong. any recommendations how to lower the bridge? cordial greetings 😃
Sorry my Bad English
Hola! como fue tu experiencia con la guitarra Cordoba Mini II?
Thanks for watching!
sounds great 👍

@@fretfrontier thank you, planning to order a EB version :)
Do you think this would be a good learning guitar?
@oncersm - Yes. It would be a good choice for learning guitar.
Nice playing...
