Yes, "Oh, Look -Rocks!" 😆 I did not know the John Carter ref'. When watching Adndor, at Saw G's base, I quickly knew the location. 🤔
I watched the modern adapt' of "Poldark", set in Cornwall, where locals are mining, tin for copper,....while Winspit was a Rock Quary, I wonder if it was a location for that show. Even standing on the rocky windswept hills for a heroic or romantic moment.

I don't know, it may have been. I'm sure there may have been many other shows and films filmed here. Great place, timeless

Danger, Keep Out! Closed etc. Yet you go in to explore anyway! After all what are they going to do? Exterminate you?? Heh. I would have done the same. This is they one place I have wanted to go for years. No matter what it was used for in the past it will always be Skaro / Blakes 7 locations and Andor as well. The second it appeared in Andor I knew it was Winspit...I could not believe that they had used it with all the locations in the world available, and all the money and they chose Winspit, its a testament to the location. To walk in Tom Bakers footsteps, to see where he stood at the very peak of his Doctor Who popularity...the best of the 70s BBC output. And the Tardis rock was used for Blakes crew to Teleport out from as well....Its such a long way from me in the North East though. Up here on the day you were there it was FREEZING! And raining and miserable...and there you are in lovely spring weather by the sea.....

@@tardis_treasures You are welcome. Classic Doctor Who is....well its classic for a reason. I was probably the same as you and grew up with the entire Tom Baker era. My first proper full memories of Doctor Who start with Robot. The Target books are what taught me to read, before I discovered those I struggled. There are so many RUclipsrs covering Doctor Who locations and each time Winspit appears so do I. In Destiny of the Daleks it looks creepy, mysterious and a large location. And no where near the sea. Its incredible how they used it to make it seem a sprawling large area when its not. The other location I always wanted to see was for the Android Invasion...East Hagbourne and that War Memorial...it was iconic. At the time of broadcast people were talking about how nice the village looked. One of these days I will make the effort to get there, before I really do get too old....

@@tardis_treasures Yes I am tempted, but its sooooo far from where I live. It also looks like its in the middle of no where. Still thats the point of it. I would not go in July though as its peak tourist / school holiday. So many people in the Uk now compared to when I was a kid. My ex wife and I visited a small town on the Northumbrian coast famous for its castle (Not Alnwick) expecting it to be reasonably quiet. No, it was insane. No parking spaces, and you could not see the pavements at all for the people walking on them. When we did get a space and started to explore, we soon came to understand there was nothing much there at all. But all the people were doing is wandering around like aimless sheep, up and down the streets going "I wonder whats up here??" And the answer was nothing much. And all the time more and more people are turning up....And that was in July, first week and not a school holiday either.....
