      Doublelift was robbed some of those MVPs Bjerg was getting when they were on the same team, in season 6 summer, Bjerg got MVP but Doublelift deserved it more, he was almost exclusively playing Lucian that split with a rookie support, and they won off of it almost solo, and when teams started banning it, they'd still win when he picked sivir.

    • @josephbirrenkott7993
      @josephbirrenkott7993 2 года назад +8

      Everything Meteos did was/is done better by either Xmithie or Blaber.
      Secondly, Hai is much like Xmithie in that you can't measure worth purely by stats. You have to watch them play and actually understand the game to truly appreciate.
      Meteos is like the guy who may or may not pop off and 1v9 carry 4 gold elo in a match vs 5 challenger opponents. But Hai is the guy who would level up his 4 gold elo allies and have them playing like they were master tier all while at least matching his lane counterpart.
      It's not Hai's individual mechanics that made him so highly valued. It is the out-of-the-box ability to think and find win conditions no matter what kind of corner you put the man in. Meteos might rank higher on an individual 1v1 perspective, but Hai would level up your whole team in a manner that gives you a net gain far greater than the slight loss of 1v1 value he offers relative to Meteos. And that kind of value is so rare to find in players which is what made Hai so great.

      @@podefunder First off, as much as DL won his teams championships in NA, he also held back their growth and ability to perform at worlds.
      Second off, Xmithie went from literally the worst jungler (washed up) when he was stuck with Aphro and Stixxay to best in NA. Xmithie needed DL? No. He could have done that with Sneaky just fine. Or Turtle. Xmithie is the guy who would absorb massive counter-jungle pressure and with zero help from team manage to be ahead of his counterpart by level 6 AND have put his laner(s) in winning position.
      At worlds with the feed the DL bullshit, top, mid, and jg all suffered twice over for DL's sake and even with everything given him DL couldn't deliver. Meanwhile Xmithie would still hold his own far better while given less.
      Meteos? After C9, he'd have a few good games here and there and that is it. Lose interest and bail before the team's performance could go south. Pretending otherwise is like saying Dardoch was best jungler NA just because for a few weeks he looked it before every team he was on eventually imploded.

    BS list. I hate doublelift but he’s prolly you’re #1 LCS player of all time right now.
    Bjerg’s failures recently make me not wanna put him over xsmithie but I can say they’re both right there together and either way is understandable.
    What they did get right, was impact. He’s #2 in my opinion, and could’ve already been #1 if he stayed on C9. But proud of the guy and all he’s done. The guy is legendary, humble and a true GOAT of the game.

      @WhittleDragon 2 года назад

      See, normally I’d give ya credit for y’all’s line of thinking. Cause the only argument bjerg has, is the 4 MVPs he has, but by that standard you’re saying the best player in LCS history is just about who is the most skilled. In which case I’d say there have been plenty of players that were at or above peak Bjerg.
      From old dogs like QTPie to new blood like Blabber. There’ve been dominate players that were better than Bjergs 2-3 years of combined good play.
      In a team game setting, the best player is about someone who slots in well, always at the top of their role, a clutch player and all independent of team performance, thus letting others shine. Which is why I give doublelift the number 1 spot. Although due to roles, him and bjerg got resources and games played around them, rather than left on the island that is top.

    • @Commissar1111
      @Commissar1111 2 года назад +2

      @@WhittleDragon There's no way you can say plenty of players have peaked above Bjergsen, you just haven't watched his prime if you think that. He was a legitimate contender for best Midlaner in the west at his peak earlier in his career, international players respected and wanted to play against him at tournaments. He legitimately reshaped NA LCS and forced every other team to look internationally for imports like him, he nearly caused the extinction of NA mids he was so good for his time. Made every LCS final for 9 splits straight, beat the dominant OG C9 and stopped their 3peat attempt, won 5 titles and 4 split MVPs in 4 Seperate years and 4 playoff MVPs in 4 separate years, most recent being 2020 summer in his last Championship run. Like you say the best player is always at the top of their role and Bjergsen from 2014 - 2020, regardless of how good or bad his team was, performed as one of the best Mids in the region. Since All pro began in 2015 Bjergsen has never missed the top 3 all pro teams except for 2020 spring, he has 6 First team selections, only other Midlaner with more in the west is Caps at 7 selections.
      Blabber could have a greater career one day but that hasn't happened yet, Impact has had a fantastic career but he's never been the best player in LCS, and has often been overshadowed even just as a top laner, he only has 2 First team all pro selections in his entire career. Even if you say it's due to his playstyle and resource allocation, that is a limitation of his play that caused issues for his teams throughout the years when weakside top was not the meta. I do respect him and think he is the 3rd or 4th greatest LCS player ever, but there is no way you can argue him over Bjergsen or Doublelift.
      There is only one guy you can argue had a better LCS career than Bjergsen, and it's Doublelift. Nobody else is close to those two, and any pro who played against them would tell you the same thing.
      EDIT: Also there's no way you put QTpie in the discussion with Bjergsen, Double and Blabber lol

    • @WhittleDragon
      @WhittleDragon 2 года назад

      @@Commissar1111 I’m gonna try and hit in reverse order, QT was an insane player. Hands down one of the best solo players of the early days of league. He was mechanically insane. But league was also smaller, pro scene limited, and he was just a natural.
      Bjerg was the same way. But in my opinion at a better time. He came as it was blowing up, he WAS the best mid laner hands down at that time. But as the years passed, he became a KDA player. Jenson and other would flame him for tower hugging and playing for the scaling. Which is honesty just salt, but still something that happened cause other mids were getting better and he couldn’t dominate lane like he could in his early days. And since then bjerg has just been a solid player on good teams. Farm, scale, hopefully team fight well.
      Doublelift is hands down a better player, cause through all his years of hogging resources, he actually played to abuse that power and attention. He played to impact a game and played that role of Carry.
      Impact played all the roles of top, from carry to tank, from split push to team fight, from an island to a continent of map pressure. And I think that means a lot from a perspective of being a great an impactful player.
      Blabber definitely hasn’t had the career to surpass the big dogs yet, but he has most certainly came in at a time of world class junglers playing and the fact he came hot with that kind of competition around should speed up his process of joining these talks. Cause I am a believer in him making this Top 10 list.
      And I can’t really talk down bjerg, cause I think his regional success is meaningful even if it’s overhyped, and did have that one playoff run in his last year or two where he popped off and showed his actual skill. The bjerg of old and legend that we wished showed up internationally. But it didn’t.
      Jenson is just the better bjerg with less accolades. A better player, who gets compared to a more successful guy cause it’s still a team game and the guy with the better team gets the hype.
      Bjerg is great. But I’d say he’s just not on that level of guaranteed top 2 or 3.
      Xsmithie is an example of a goat where I can only remember his sej ults, but when you sit and think back, he was actually dope for so long. Also at an early point in league, so take that thought in hand. Cause with the world class junglers we have now, times would be tough for a guy like him. But I still give him that spot next to/just below bjerg.
      EDIT: I know the early days were volatile and their success through times of great change of growth is meaningful. Even more so than the last two years with durability and item rework. Back then, players changed the game, and now riot fucks with the game and players just have to adjust faster.

      Both players had teams built around them. Whenver DL moved teams, the team was always put into - protect the DL mode. Did DL "learn" to play different playstyles? Sure... for about a week or 3 at a time. But always would revert to just give him the resources and let him carry. And hey, it would guarantee you NA champion.
      But it also meant little team growth, predictability, and no personal improvement in versatility and playing from behind or outnumbered (weak side) compared with other international adc's. Which is why you saw C9 (who made all their players learn that versatility) go further at worlds.
      So sorry, but you can't sit there and say Bjerg got everything built around him while implying DL didn't. Bjergsen may be a good teammate, and a great player, but to say he is the GOAT of NA when he hasn't been able to win in like 7 years without having the actual NA GOAT on his team is to spit in DL's face.

    For me, DL is undeniably the #1 LCS player of all time. The fact that he switched teams so many times and still won championships with them speaks for itself. SO many players never achieve their previous heights when changing teams, and yet DL consistently was a driving factor which led his teams to win trophies, regardless of what team it was.
    Also imo Blaber > Xmithie. Xmithie is definitely an all time LCS great, and is / was constantly an underappreciated player, but I also think he was jungling at a time where LCS junglers were MUCH worse than what they are today. Blaber has played against insane competition domestically for years, and is almost never out of the question for current best LCS jungler. He has hard carried C9 to so many wins, and several trophies, even with the constant roster shuffles going on around him. On the other hand, DL turns TL into the new NA powerhouse replacing TSM. 4 straight championships, MSI Top 2, directly rekt Bjerg rverse swepping him with his shotcalling and leadership.
      Then Bjerg begs DL to return cause he can't win or make worlds without him and DL gave him his last trophy immediately.
      Now, Bjerg sees CoreJJ on TL (who explicitly said he joined TL specifically because of Doublelift), and wants to hop onto the bandwagon and TL foundation that DL built.

  • @elinikola5816

    Nah, I love the list but we all know Doublelift is number 1. No player has ever done what he has done. Won CLG first title,got kicked out went to TSM and won a couple of title. Went to TL for a short time, and carried them out of relegation with an average team. When back to TSM and won some. Got kicked from TSM, went to TL and won a few more. Got kicked from TL because of average spring split performance. Came back to TSM and beat TL to win summer. He is the GOAT. Even as you can see now bjergsen with the highest paid team and the number 1 sup corejj. Still can’t even get to the finals?? It’s a close race between these two but I do believe DL should be 1. One reason that he is 2 is probably because he people who voted was past players, team owners etc . And possibly they voted out of hate cause DL wasn’t the most popular guy outside of the game among players and team owners. But this is about ingame skill not outside relationship.

      I just read that Steve for DL at 4th???? Doublelift came to TL and won all that title for u, and u put his at 4? Darius put DL at 5th? It’s a popularity contest and some past grudge

    List was great until you said #2. Sad that pandering to more fans is valued higher than just rating them correctly. DL over Bjerg. DL won the most championships of anyone and did it accross 3 different teams. And honestly you can't convince me that Bjerg is even above Jensen. At least if he wins this championship and performs at worlds, it'd be laughable to ever say Bjerg > Jensen ever again.

    DL got robbed, DL got 8 tiles, Bjerg got 6, and for some reasons Bjerg is the best LCS players of all times LOL. And Bjerg has won 0 titles after not playing with DL, I guess LCS really hates DL LOL

    Gotta agree with many others in comments. In terms of NA specifically, DL is unquestionably number 1. If you consider international performance, I would rate Bjerg higher. But in NA if you had to pick between Bjerg or DL winning you the championship, it was DL 9/10 times. Hence why TSM decided they needed both players.

      Thats awesome youd rate bjerg higher internationally, please fill me in on why? Because DL went MSI finals, Bjerg got out of groups at Worlds once. ????

      Bjergsen has literally 2 good international showings: IEM Katovice 2015 and Worlds 2014
      Yes, DL shit the bed many times too at worlds, but atleast he got more titles
      Lets be honest internationally both suck

      @@tom400iq6ft MSI. That is a far cry from worlds. Also, you can look at the actual gameplay footage bro. Compare him to someone like Uzi. Uzi at worlds 2v3 getting camped and winning lane vs the best adc's in the world. Not some play-in's adc that made it to group stage. Premier NA, EU, LPL or LCK adc.
      DL gets all the ganks, gets the winning matchup, gets all the roams from mid. He then... barely wins lane and does nothing with it. Can't carry despite all resources invested in him. If he doesn't get those resources invested? He gets crushed.
      You can't say the same about Bjerg. He doesn't require everything and the kitchen sink handed to him to NOT lose lane then get outperformed post laning-phase.
      Don't blindly argue back I'm wrong because I'm not. Go re-watch some footage.

      @@julianarnold21 Didn't say either were good or great internationally. I said Bjerg was better.
      You have to consider the resources in-game a team invests in each player too. The more you're given, the more you need to make good on that investment. With mid drafting and roaming bot to support DL getting advantages and jungle playing almost exclusively for bot lane, much must be expected of you. When no such investment is made to Bjerg, less is to be expected of him.
