Better Alternative on Amazon: geni.us/motot42 --- The AmazonBasics models now appear to not be available at all on Amazon so here is an alternative. Support the channel by using this affiliate link for this or anything else you feel like looking at on Amazon. Thank you!

£27.82 now through the link. Only 8 channels too?

Wow, you're right! I hope they'll be down again soon because they're not worth that. I'm currently working on another video which is looking at similarly small units but much better quality and cheaper than that price!

They look exactly like the Argos cheap range £19. Ok for kids to muck around with when camping etc. Thanks for the video torsten. Wayne

Best set of radios i purchased a few years ago was the topcom rc6406 twintalker 9500AE very good audio has dsc and ctcss encode decode and uses 4 aaa batteries per unit lasts quite well in fact they have a better quality than my set of motarola t60s.

The Topcom look like nice units but they're also over £100 for a pair (assuming I looked at the correct product). Nice that they show the frequency on the display!

Good fair review TD , maybe avoid them .
I'd like you , if possible to do a review of a mid price and a high end .
I love walkie talkie but I need it to have a good powerful signal especially in buildings...( It seems metal steel floor interfere with the signal ...can you recommend a good walkie talkie. .
    Budget of £150-£200 .
    Thanks great channel .

I checked on the Amazon price history and it seems they fluctuate between roughly £15 and then shoot up to £28. I don’t believe it’s offer related as I didn’t buy mine on any kind of deal. Who knows what factors are at play here. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Everyone should have some kind of walki talkies. I bought a few cheaper ones to pass out to my neighborhood just incase of a shtf situation.

That roger beep and button tones remind me of an old topcom twintalker(or something like that) pmr radio I once had…

    Hi, thanks for the video.
In your experience, what’s the best low(ish) cost, most compact with decent range range and clarity walkie talkie?
    What would you buy?
    Thanks

Hi TD ...... HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!... (Hey just had a stupid thought) ???
    ...
In a way they are quite impressive for the money .... (like a Dacia Duster) lol !!!
    ...
If used between cars .... if copper wire or tin foil was just rested on the antenna
    .
And a thin piece of copper was placed maybe on a gutter rail ???
    .
Would the signal just "explode" in range ???
    ...
    ...
Hey i remember those FANTASTIC walkie talkies from the american dramas back in the 70's
    .
(they seemed to have a several mile range)... (the telescopic aerials went up half a mile) lol
    ...
    ...
    MANY THANKS !!!

curious what channel you ran on the moto vs the amazon?
I know its not frs but the frs ones have .5w on channels 8-15 and allow up to 2w on all other simplex channels now.
I only know a few things about frs and gmrs though not entirely sure how pmr is set up

I don’t recall which channel but PMR is all 0.5W. We have nothing higher than that in the license free category. 👍🏻
