    I bought 2 2017 sovereign from the jewellery quarter In Birmingham for 295 each, later found out their worth around 330 each, they hold a nice premium to them since they are a newly minted coin

    Saw the header, had to check mine,
    Got it, a full one, with that little shield by the year date.
    I've been watching these sovereign podcasts recently, and found my two 1957 sovs, the first for QE2nd have indeed got finer milled reeded edge, something I've never previously noticed. It's so easy to trade out premium sovereigns due to lack of knowledge.

    Strange to see the 2017 without the garter. Numistacker got us used to seeing the proofs.
    As for gold I like, I have the Hong Kong Lunar series, the Canadian $100 and $200 22K series, the American gold Buffalo series, sovereigns from 1834 sporadically up to 2002, French 20 francs from 1828 on and off to 1914, and Dutch, Belgium, Mexican and German gold, etc. Basically, I like it all.

      Yes Numistacker has some great coins on his channel! Proofs come with a premium though. All the gold you mentioned is also great! Thanks for watching

    very nice but no gloves? 😁🔥🐉

    • @CoinCollector
      @CoinCollector  5 лет назад +5

      One of the big differences between US and UK coin collecting/stacking is that WE generally use gloves and grading services far less than in the US. If you go to a coin fair in the UK 95% of coins are non-graded and anyone can pick them up without gloves to have a look. Its just a different culture thing and maybe we should use gloves more but as these are only bullion sovereigns I feel perfectly fine picking them up occasionally without gloves given that most of the time they are in capsules! Thanks for watching

      @@Abyss.8 I had similar a few years ago, a lady in a market was selling a half sovereign saying it was 9ct Gold I think she was charging about, £20. I told that if it was real, it was 22ct and worth much more. Yes, OK, maybe I should have kept quiet and bought it but....anyway, next time I saw her she said she'd looked in to it and thanked me for telling her.
