Not totally nothing. I barely need a skill, high investment and good crit stats to clear the tower with Jinshi. Skill indeed important but ranking do exist. I rather play the game easily with strong characters than stress myself out with having a need to get a good pull for crit stats on mediocre characters and clearing the tower with stress.
I mean some of the criticism is valid tho, like his second passive is completely useless and his dodge counter didn't give any forte stack in his liberation.

strongly disagree, quickswap calcharo is more satisfying for me because It feels like i'm playing 2 characters at the same time. calcharo + yinlin is nothing as satisfying as Changli doing a flaming forte attack with calcharo death messengering on top of her against the boss at the same time.
I think his rotation also aims to align the buffs from Lustrous Razor with everything else. So we see him swapping to Calcharo for 3x E, swap to Yinlin for outro + Heron then back to Calcharo again for ult

The stats from your Calcharo are crazy! I was going nuts cause I couldn't even get 2 stars from the current tower with Calcharo. (left side) My Calcharo got 1904 atk, 130% energyregen, 54% crit rate 260,8% crit dmg and I thought that was good... than I saw your stats -> I need to get better Echos xDD Meanwhile my Jiyan Team swipes the middle part with 3 stars and my Changli Team the right side with 2 stars (her Forte aren't even leveled just to lvl 3) with an Encore which is at lvl 70 but got solid Echos I think
He's strong indeed, though you have to break the Heron before it fly up to save a lot of time. Not to promote or anything but i do have a Heron run on my channel with weaker weapon if you're interested.
Calcharo ain't weak. A lot of players who think that just aren't skilled enough to adjust to his "clunkiness" and play him effectively. This video and Rexlent's, Horg's channel proves that. 👍
A skilled player can make any character work with a good enough build. Calcharo is weak because he needs to be played at his ceiling to match the damage output of other dps characters, and Yinlin does most of the heavy lifting in this team. Video is great but doesn't prove anything.
He's not weak, just hard to use, and despite the effort you need to play him on proper team and proper rotation, he only deal decent dmg compared to jinhsi who's super easy to use and can deal insane dmg, remember tier list is nothing but comparison of each character, if the strongest character (s tier) able to deal 1m easily, then other characters who barely deal half of it would be lower tier, that's how tier list works, just look at jingliu and dhil on hsr, they used to be t0, but now they're sitting at Lower tier, it's not like they're nerfed, the new character is just to strong
At least people who are mentioning about high skill requirements or the clunkiness part have some sense. Can't bear with those people yapping about high investment or especially echo stat rolls. I've already had enough dose of that crap from genshin.

For comparison, Jiyan & Jihnsi would be much more godlike with that echo stats and skill level. FYI, 2625 ATK with 68.1 Crit and 248% CritDmg is monstrous. For example: My Jihnsi having subpar roll with only 2200 ATK 80% Crit 200% Crit Dmg is obliterating that Heron within 3 rotations (about 40~50 secs). And this is at Skill Lvl 6 6 10 8 5
The take home from this video is that, If you already built Calcharo, you can delay building Xiangli Yao (or perhaps skip Xiangli Yao if better DPS electro unit come). But I won't call Calcharo strong.
Kuro did mention at an interview, about making the game fun for both player who are not used to action games and players that really want challange. Even their most recent characters like Jinshi and Changli shows how they're doing this. They definitely have easy to play characters and more challenging characters at the same time. Teams like Changli/Encore quick swap is quite hard to pull off than Jinshi teams but is very strong if you play them optimally. Ofcourse there are relatively stronger or weaker characters. Its merely each players choice to decide what they are going to play. The only problem is those people who are always mistranslating "challenging" directly as "weak" and abusing the word "heavy investment" to cover up "skill isssue" for their satisfaction.
As a main Calcharo and Jiyan, I admit that Calcaro is not "weak" it just needs more investment, I had both at the same time and Jiyan achieved results with only Mortefi and a 4 star weapon, Calcharo needed a 5 star weapon and Yinlin, of course now it's fun and I don't regret overinvesting in it, now I use Calcharo and Jiyan happily, but I admit that until I got Yinlin and the 5 star weapon Jiyan was simply better.

I already got Verina s1 and still haven't use the guarantee pull for standard 5 starm Should i get another copy of Verina, her s4 is good for Jinshi or should i get calcharo? 5 star that i already have is Yinlin, s1 Encore, Jinshi, Jiyan, Jiaxin and Changli.
You'll have Xiangli Yao for free, so if you don't care about design (and prefere Calcharo) i don't see a point of pulling Calcharo at this point. So its ether Verina, Jianxin or Encore, they all have good sequences. Encore being the most valuable directly in my opinion but is if you like to play her in the first place.

Yeah i probably can prioritise getting good s like s4 verina or s2 encore with the guarantee standard banner pull that i haven't used instead of getting Calcharo, i probably gonna get him one day by losing 5050 anyway. At this point in game i think support is much more important than having many dps, its hard to build characters in this game too, way too many resources needed.
I think you pull Calcharo only if you like his play style. Imo he's not weak, I clear ToA middle tower with duo Calcharo + Yinlin, he just difficult to use. For me his play style much enjoyable compared to Jiyan tho, but since I got Changli I don't use him anymore. Calcharo has many restrictions when I play him and I don't get much freedom unlike Changli which is very flexible as team or solo
Unfortunately the issue with Calcharo is not that he is weak, but he is a real pain to play optimally on end game. If even Lion boy can beat tower S0R1 in 1:30 using 4 star support, anyone can. My issue with calc is that I hate how the game punish you for dodging or switching with him and ideal scenario is to stun enemy or find big opening before using your full combo which is not realistic or have to do quickswap which drop his already mid DPS to bellow average. Compare him to the best DPS in the game currently. Jinshi can dodge easily both in the ground and in the air with little dmg loss if any, have higher DPS, and have condensed damage in her ultimate and skill burst. Having back end damage might be a negative in other game (Cough Eula cough) and compared to other chara like Calc and Jiyan who can do some burst dmg during their initial burst cast and then consistent dmg for the next 10 or so second, Jinshi condensed back end damage is a tremendous advantage in this game where Outro buff disappear during character switch. This mean you can do quickswap to build up both Jinshi combo/stack and character buffer outro and then use the buff for a burst. This increase the skill ceiling while keeping the skill floor low, you can still play jinshi in a classic rotation of support>Sub DPS>DPS while giving a skilled player more freedom of skill expression Calcharo, Encore and Jiyan are stuck in the classic rotation but Jiyan and Encore is so much easier to play and don't have the limitation that Calcharo did while dealing more DPS than Calc too sadge. TLDR: Too much work, not enough reward so it feels unfair and not very good. I really hope they buff him cuz more effort=more reward is the ideal scenario. Putting meta aside, Calcharo is one of the coolest looking character with sick animation and SFX, so sad to see his current state sigh
I mean i don't wanna hate on you cuz you are basically correct but like yeah new techs are being invented for him like 4 death messengers which is not consistent of course and it destroys your mouse-holding hand but like people just haven't studied him enough or tried enough teammates because of how limited resources are in this game. But I admit you are mostly correct some of his problems can be solved with skill and practice albeit not as consistent as jiyan or jinhsi and some of his problems can't be solved with skill it is what it is so far if you level him to 90 and max out everything he's still fine but the resources required is high and resources are still little at this stage of the game. There is a completely baseless and copium rumor going on in CN that when NEW UNION arc starts in game, he's going to get a limited 5 star version of him going "over-frequency". I don't think it's true but it's the copium belief I hold right now
@@FacialFischl as PGR player I can completely see him getting a buff similar to how older PGR chara can get a buff in the form of LEAP to put them closer to the new meta power level but looking at the age of the game, I don't think that will come anytime soon if at all, at least for him (Leap give character extra unlockable skill that add mechanic and extra damage/support ability, they cost quite a bit of resource but we get a ton from just playing anyway) Only select few character get the buff and not all character and some of the Leap are for a great character that need some extension to their life cycle cuz the release rate of chara in PGR is really slow and not really for mid or meh chara that is not part of the meta already which is quite disappointing S Liv which is standard chara get Leap which allow her to be meta for over 2 years as Physical team support while Karenina Ember which is a Fire DPS is also a standard character but she is so mid that most people don't use her and end up using an A rank Lee Palefire that somehow got Leap that make him even stronger or at least on par with Karenina Ember with less investment. I love Kuro, I think they make great game and they are very generous compared to most gacha game but goddamn their balancing is pretty wack. Putting the posibility of buff/leap aside, my point is, with the current situation I think Calcharo easily in the low tier and barely above Lingyang. Lingyang at least have the potential of getting better if he can get a good new 5* sub dps that fit him perfectly while Calcharo already got Yinlin yet his power level is still mid at best. I'd say both are on B with Jiyan and Encore on A and Jinshi on S Max potential is one factor but how much effort to get to that max potential is another and on both cases he is mid which is sad cuz he got one of the best design in the game and that alone is enough for me to invest and play him, just maybe later once I'm done with my Encore and soon Zhezhi

The issue isn't that he can't clear ToA but how much investment and skill requirement to do that. People exaggerate how bad Calc is but if we are being objective, he is indeed not for everyone so I can't blame people for not recommending him to the new player.
i mean with this kind of investment with their specific 5* Dmg Booster, just imagine what the other 5* dps could do. he does have some serious flaws in his kit and is insanely powercrept already. not to mention the future electro chars like the free one we get. Dont get me wrong, he is my favorite Character but i do hope they will not be hesitant to ballance existing chars kit like they did in PGR to some degree. If they do this they would gain so much trust by the community as well
No doubt about your skill.. but those are god-roll echoes with high overall attack and crit % I wonder if it's possible to 3 star with very mid echoes and crafted 4 star wep? which is what i have due to bad luck.

if you use void thunder on Xiangli Yao, You need to do a heavy attack before activating his liberation to get full 4 pc effect of the set. Heavy attack and skill gives 15% separately, (you can easily verify this by using calcharo E-E and check his electro bouns, it only increases by 15%) and Xiangli Yao doesn't do heavy attack in his combos. He's probably still gonna be fine even with 15% less electro damage, so unless you want to do maximum damage feel free to ignore this tip
It's not that's he's weak It's more because Jinshi exists and can drop 1 million damage consistently with ease making every other dps in the game look bad lol
The hardest part is getting crit damage / rate on every fucking echo..just how?! I have the worst luck in gcha games. Been playing since day 1 and have like 3 echoes that rolled crit d/r
Not downplaying your skill but feel like anyone with those crazy rolls echos and lv. 90 would clear the same speed. Well play anyway, I got him to S4 but Im switching to Xianliyang who doesnt get punished for dodging lol
I am pretty sure it depends on what you need. His weapon is a niche that is made only for him. The weapon increases Liberation damage after using Liberation damage. Basically it's a really specific situation weapon. Because most? characters don't deal liberation damage again after using liberation. But, it's still the best gauntlet currently because his weapon has Crit stat. So, if you are planning to pull his weapon with the mindset of using it for another gauntlet user in the future, I suggest you don't pull and just wait for future weapons that are more general. You can't really expect in short time there will be another gauntlet user that have similar kit to Xiangli Yao. But, if you really want to use XY, it's better to pull his weapon because the weapon is really suitable with his kit (majority kit of him deals liberation damage). Also, the standard 5* gauntlet isn't that good. NOTE: If you only care whether he can clear current content such as TOA or hologram, level 90 XY with a standard 5* weapon is enough. But, I can't assure you this will stay the same in the future.

Comparing carlito's playstyle to jinhsi or changli is like comparing a Gen 1 attacker to a Gen 2-3 annihilator or attacker in pgr You have to put in the work and learn his combos for each enemy attack pattern and frequency. Meanwhile theres jiyan and encore witb their left click simulator easy dmg.

Someone from the WuWa subreddit mentioned that Yinlin is not really a good pair for him though. I'm too lazy to explain everything but I'm sure you can find his post there with Calcharo + SRover + Verina.
Technically if you quick swap yinlin and calcharo while calcharo uitimate you mostly not using yinlin buff that give calcharo 45% final dmg so (not really)
@@RanRan_11 If you want your Calcharo to be your main DPS it does make sense as Calcharo can take advantage of SRover stasis to do free uninterrupted damage, but i rather take Yuanwu S6 at lvl 80 than Verina if that's setup, don't need two healers yes Rover can heal after using his/her Ult. My reasoning for this is, i will take advantage of Yuanwu all DEF buffs, R.Skill for bit of additional damage and Outro for the Massive Vibration Damage.

Calcharo is amazing

I already got Verina s1 and still haven't use the guarantee pull for standard 5 starm Should i get another copy of Verina, her s4 is good for Jinshi or should i get calcharo? 5 star that i already have is Yinlin, s1 Encore, Jinshi, Jiyan, Jiaxin and Changli.
You'll have Xiangli Yao for free, so if you don't care about design (and prefere Calcharo) i don't see a point of pulling Calcharo at this point. So its ether Verina, Jianxin or Encore, they all have good sequences. Encore being the most valuable directly in my opinion but is if you like to play her in the first place.

Yeah i probably can prioritise getting good s like s4 verina or s2 encore with the guarantee standard banner pull that i haven't used instead of getting Calcharo, i probably gonna get him one day by losing 5050 anyway. At this point in game i think support is much more important than having many dps, its hard to build characters in this game too, way too many resources needed.
I think you pull Calcharo only if you like his play style. Imo he's not weak, I clear ToA middle tower with duo Calcharo + Yinlin, he just difficult to use. For me his play style much enjoyable compared to Jiyan tho, but since I got Changli I don't use him anymore. Calcharo has many restrictions when I play him and I don't get much freedom unlike Changli which is very flexible as team or solo
Unfortunately the issue with Calcharo is not that he is weak, but he is a real pain to play optimally on end game.
If even Lion boy can beat tower S0R1 in 1:30 using 4 star support, anyone can. My issue with calc is that I hate how the game punish you for dodging or switching with him and ideal scenario is to stun enemy or find big opening before using your full combo which is not realistic or have to do quickswap which drop his already mid DPS to bellow average.
Compare him to the best DPS in the game currently. Jinshi can dodge easily both in the ground and in the air with little dmg loss if any, have higher DPS, and have condensed damage in her ultimate and skill burst. Having back end damage might be a negative in other game (Cough Eula cough) and compared to other chara like Calc and Jiyan who can do some burst dmg during their initial burst cast and then consistent dmg for the next 10 or so second, Jinshi condensed back end damage is a tremendous advantage in this game where Outro buff disappear during character switch. This mean you can do quickswap to build up both Jinshi combo/stack and character buffer outro and then use the buff for a burst. This increase the skill ceiling while keeping the skill floor low, you can still play jinshi in a classic rotation of support>Sub DPS>DPS while giving a skilled player more freedom of skill expression
Calcharo, Encore and Jiyan are stuck in the classic rotation but Jiyan and Encore is so much easier to play and don't have the limitation that Calcharo did while dealing more DPS than Calc too sadge.
TLDR: Too much work, not enough reward so it feels unfair and not very good. I really hope they buff him cuz more effort=more reward is the ideal scenario.
Putting meta aside, Calcharo is one of the coolest looking character with sick animation and SFX, so sad to see his current state sigh
I mean i don't wanna hate on you cuz you are basically correct but like yeah new techs are being invented for him like 4 death messengers which is not consistent of course and it destroys your mouse-holding hand but like people just haven't studied him enough or tried enough teammates because of how limited resources are in this game. But I admit you are mostly correct some of his problems can be solved with skill and practice albeit not as consistent as jiyan or jinhsi and some of his problems can't be solved with skill it is what it is so far if you level him to 90 and max out everything he's still fine but the resources required is high and resources are still little at this stage of the game. There is a completely baseless and copium rumor going on in CN that when NEW UNION arc starts in game, he's going to get a limited 5 star version of him going "over-frequency". I don't think it's true but it's the copium belief I hold right now
@@FacialFischl as PGR player I can completely see him getting a buff similar to how older PGR chara can get a buff in the form of LEAP to put them closer to the new meta power level but looking at the age of the game, I don't think that will come anytime soon if at all, at least for him
(Leap give character extra unlockable skill that add mechanic and extra damage/support ability, they cost quite a bit of resource but we get a ton from just playing anyway)
Only select few character get the buff and not all character and some of the Leap are for a great character that need some extension to their life cycle cuz the release rate of chara in PGR is really slow and not really for mid or meh chara that is not part of the meta already which is quite disappointing
S Liv which is standard chara get Leap which allow her to be meta for over 2 years as Physical team support while Karenina Ember which is a Fire DPS is also a standard character but she is so mid that most people don't use her and end up using an A rank Lee Palefire that somehow got Leap that make him even stronger or at least on par with Karenina Ember with less investment.
I love Kuro, I think they make great game and they are very generous compared to most gacha game but goddamn their balancing is pretty wack.
Putting the posibility of buff/leap aside, my point is, with the current situation I think Calcharo easily in the low tier and barely above Lingyang. Lingyang at least have the potential of getting better if he can get a good new 5* sub dps that fit him perfectly while Calcharo already got Yinlin yet his power level is still mid at best. I'd say both are on B with Jiyan and Encore on A and Jinshi on S
Max potential is one factor but how much effort to get to that max potential is another and on both cases he is mid which is sad cuz he got one of the best design in the game and that alone is enough for me to invest and play him, just maybe later once I'm done with my Encore and soon Zhezhi

The issue isn't that he can't clear ToA but how much investment and skill requirement to do that. People exaggerate how bad Calc is but if we are being objective, he is indeed not for everyone so I can't blame people for not recommending him to the new player.

i mean with this kind of investment with their specific 5* Dmg Booster, just imagine what the other 5* dps could do. he does have some serious flaws in his kit and is insanely powercrept already. not to mention the future electro chars like the free one we get. Dont get me wrong, he is my favorite Character but i do hope they will not be hesitant to ballance existing chars kit like they did in PGR to some degree. If they do this they would gain so much trust by the community as well

@@zeromailss he has his Signature weapon that boost his output compare to Calc which alienate other character weap or Lustrous Roar which performance not that much higher than using other Signature weap.
if you use void thunder on Xiangli Yao, You need to do a heavy attack before activating his liberation to get full 4 pc effect of the set. Heavy attack and skill gives 15% separately, (you can easily verify this by using calcharo E-E and check his electro bouns, it only increases by 15%) and Xiangli Yao doesn't do heavy attack in his combos. He's probably still gonna be fine even with 15% less electro damage, so unless you want to do maximum damage feel free to ignore this tip
maybe his Best set is Ligering TUnes set.

I am pretty sure it depends on what you need.
His weapon is a niche that is made only for him. The weapon increases Liberation damage after using Liberation damage. Basically it's a really specific situation weapon. Because most? characters don't deal liberation damage again after using liberation.
But, it's still the best gauntlet currently because his weapon has Crit stat.
So, if you are planning to pull his weapon with the mindset of using it for another gauntlet user in the future, I suggest you don't pull and just wait for future weapons that are more general. You can't really expect in short time there will be another gauntlet user that have similar kit to Xiangli Yao.
But, if you really want to use XY, it's better to pull his weapon because the weapon is really suitable with his kit (majority kit of him deals liberation damage). Also, the standard 5* gauntlet isn't that good.
NOTE: If you only care whether he can clear current content such as TOA or hologram, level 90 XY with a standard 5* weapon is enough. But, I can't assure you this will stay the same in the future.

He isnt weak. He is a pain to play. Comparing carlito's playstyle to jinhsi or changli is like comparing a Gen 1 attacker to a Gen 2-3 annihilator or attacker in pgr
You have to put in the work and learn his combos for each enemy attack pattern and frequency. Meanwhile theres jiyan and encore witb their left click simulator easy dmg.
While Jinshi can nuke it with more than 4 minutes left.

Someone from the WuWa subreddit mentioned that Yinlin is not really a good pair for him though. I'm too lazy to explain everything but I'm sure you can find his post there with Calcharo + SRover + Verina.
Technically if you quick swap yinlin and calcharo while calcharo uitimate you mostly not using yinlin buff that give calcharo 45% final dmg so (not really)
@@RanRan_11 If you want your Calcharo to be your main DPS it does make sense as Calcharo can take advantage of SRover stasis to do free uninterrupted damage, but i rather take Yuanwu S6 at lvl 80 than Verina if that's setup, don't need two healers yes Rover can heal after using his/her Ult.
My reasoning for this is, i will take advantage of Yuanwu all DEF buffs, R.Skill for bit of additional damage and Outro for the Massive Vibration Damage.
