      I may do a cold air intake as they are now available for this engine (and the Jetta). I will do an update if I do!

    Thank you for all the info,
    I got my Taos like 3 months ago and I was ready to trade it in again because I kept on comparing it to the car I had before and it was slower but I went from a V6 to the Taos and little by little I’m liking it more and more, I don’t have the IQ package on mine but it’s ok I had it on my other car and I can live without it, the remote car starter is a plus especially in FL weather, and I just found out by you how to open the windows with the remote as well, and I’m going to show my husband this video to get the other things done to it, especially the tint on the 2 front windows. Keep the videos coming, they are super helpful, thank you.

    Also JB4 makes a plug & play tune for the Tao’s and Jetta 1.5t motor! Does not flash the ecu! Also putting in 91/93 will help with performance as well!

    Thanks for the video, from a brand loyalist. I didn't even know about the Carista, and I was about to sell the Taos because the throttle response is so bad in my 4-motion SE. I will give it a try. Question, why is you check engine light on? I can't tell if the car is running or not. And/or did the Carista cause it?

    • @madmax02906
      @madmax02906  2 года назад +2

      I hear it is a bit different with the DSG transmission which is in your 4 Motion. I 100% all the time drive my FWD SE in "sport" for best results. I don't think I had the car turned on in this video which is why the check engine light was on. It is not on normally at all.

    I recommend against the k&n as the oil from the filter will cause sensor issues as well as the fact they do not filter very well in normal driving conditions. This will result in dirt getting in the motor and oil causing wear.

      Oil media filters are really for track or race use, not daily driving with dirt in the air from whatever.

    Can you drop a link to where you bought the Carista from and what part number the K&N filter is?

    • @madmax02906
      @madmax02906  2 года назад +3

      Yes, I bought the Carista Adaptor from ECSTuning.com. For the K&N air filter go to Knfilters.com and select Air Filter then use their search by vehicle feature (enter make, model, year etc). Should be part 33-5084 but double check it using their search system.

      @@madmax02906 I bought the carista and subscribed for the free month, how do you get the car to not beep when you open the door and it’s running I was really hoping this would make that go away.

    • @madmax02906
      @madmax02906  2 года назад

      @@Alexanderrayy Hmm, I'd have to look again but I don't recall seeing an option to disable the door chime for that situation.

    • @Wannabe-rockstar-fan
      @Wannabe-rockstar-fan 2 года назад

      @@Alexanderrayy I know that's so annoying. Whenever I drive up to check my mail I literally just turn the car off. It's easier than dealing with the beep. Plus the engine is used to shutting off so I don't think this adds to wear and tear. Though ive gotten over being annoyed with the auto stop feature at red lights, I either would turn that off or deal with it no biggy really.

    Looking at the Taos & Mazda C30. Which do you think is a better buy?

    • @madmax02906
      @madmax02906  2 года назад +1

      I had actually thought about the Mazda as well - they are a great, solid ride. For me I am partial to German cars but also felt the Mazda C30 was a bit small inside for my liking.

    I just bought 2023 Taos SE but worried about the Carista voiding my warranty. I also purchased extended warranty so I don’t want to void it . Thoughts ?

    • @madmax02906
      @madmax02906  Год назад

      I have polled many others about this and tend to agree with the logic of the majority. All you are doing is changing a setting that already exists with the car so it should be fine.

    • @jasonstroud01
      @jasonstroud01 Год назад +4

      Yea I came to the same logic myself . I made a list of all the stuff I changed and will change it when I go to the dealer .
      So I changed :
      - my instrument cluster is now orange background
      - doors auto lock when I get out w/ key fob
      - pulsating start / stop button light
      - pop trunk via remote ( think before it just unlocked it ) now it pops open
      - my auto high beam assist will stay on when I turn off the car and back on

      Hello. I am in Florida and AWD models are more scarce. I have not driven an AWD Taos but have read reviews that the DSG has more of a lag than the FWD 8spd auto. I am happy with the FWD for my needs so far.

      The FWD does have the 8 speed torque converter, 7 speed DSG in the AWD doesn’t.
