I didn’t think anyone else could ever do How to Disappear Completely justice. I stand corrected.
The Anita Lester cover is the best version of that song, arguably better than the original.
I dont use that description lightly when it comes to Radiohead covers.
@@thoryon8819 I can't find that anywhere, it seems like someone took down the video..

If you want an exceptional rendition listen to Ane Brun’s cover… love the original but her version is superior imo, it truly conveys the emotion of the song like no other
This made me cry, which is the appropriate reaction
me too :-)
jesus, this was beautiful. the national anthem was sick with the intense strings in the background and the trumpet was well played. how to disappear completely is my favorite Radiohead song and has a special place in my heart, and this cover gave me chills. the vocals were dark and moody and the entire atmosphere you all created was brilliant. I loved how much it kept my attention. this is the best radiohead cover I've seen, well done!
Thanks! That really means a lot! (I mean, chills don't come easy!)
I only clicked on this because I love cello music. I don’t like Radiohead covers. Except for this one.
I "completely disappeared" into the winter of 2000 when listening to this.
Jeez, this may be the best cover of these two song that I ever heard in my life
must be the most hardest tunes to attempt. but most fun at the same time for a musician . i'll have to say you lot nailed it. a pleasure to hear this composition . THUMBS UP from me
You nailed it. It's soooo fun. Like a religious experience every time on stage. We're so incredibly lucky to be able to do this.
Beautiful, haunting deep voice
Finally found my favourite How to Disappear Completely cover
I played cello for 9 years and stopped because I was depressed. These covers are inspiring me to play again, thank you
What a brutal rhythm section. please play in time people.
As a decades long Radiohead fan, great job. Hope enjoyed playing it as much as I enjoyed listening 👏
Absolutely fantastic! 🥰
I cannot wait for this! Amazing goosebumps galore!
Two times AWESOME
Needs more cello
So Sick!! Nice work!
Bravo best cover so far!
This blew me away! Awesome!
Absolutely beautiful. All I can say is Thank you. Am I the only one who felt the vocalist changed the mood of how to dissappear completely, like purposely, the twist cause it didn't feel sad. It had a celebratory feel to it, like over coming the worst.
felt this 🤍
I'm glad this exists. Well done!
Wow! This is amazing.
oh my god! thank you.... i'm not here... i'm flyng thank you!
Fantastic!!!!
Absolutely beautiful
Fantastic! The tremolos and flageolet tones give me goosebumps.
What are those?
Does the national anthem feel fast here?
so beautiful
Hauntingly beautiful. Absolute perfection. Would love to see you do a Radiohead covers album, from the basement ;-)
this video is criminally underrated
okay that was very beautiful and amazing, her voice too
Best how to disappear completely cover on RUclips🥲👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
F*cking fantastic work.
Cheers
So good 👍
Just experienced them in Bremerton last week......FANTASTIC!!!!
I could watch a pretty lengthy short on how this came together. Collaboration, experimentation, and build must’ve been quite an experience.
incredible
That strings so awesome
WOW!
Wow!
Different level!
Awesome singing 👌 absolute pleasure
I’m ready to go.
In a little while...
Qué hermosura!
Holy shit
WoW
Are they rushing?
Supeeer
🤘🤘
Made me think of Elizabeth Fraser (Cocteau Twins). Very nice very nice...
this is sick and I am only 1 minute into the vid
Thank GOD I stumbled upon this video. This is AWESOME!!! #SUBSCRIBE
How to disappear is about a gig Radiohead did in Dublin, Ireland.
'As I float down the Liffey'.
The line always makes me think of James Joyce.
Thom said How to Disappear is about the existential dread he felt after becoming as famous as he did from Radiohead. After their first album he intentionally attempted to make an album completely opposite of what it was, that album was OK Computer. That album became more popular than even most Beatles records at their peak.
Thom hated being in the spotlight as much as he was and felt that people saw him for something that’s not really him, all he wanted to do was disappear.
@@AustinJones330Yes, and Michael Stipe of REM had advised him to just “disappear completely for a little while” and become the rock star the people wanted while he was on stage. Thom tried it, and couldn’t quite get the hang of it. 😉
Who is this queen on the miiiiic
Do “woodpeckers from Mars” next guys!!! :)
7:39 - 8:10 ♥️
Sheet music?
My ergo assessment consultant would be very uncomfortable watching this video.
Does anyone know the name of this Diva singer? She made one of the most stunning covers of a Radiohead song I have ever heard!
9:55 guitar string broke, but that's okay
Yes it did!!
Liffey. - a river not Life-y
R&B teqnic vocal i think dont match
bass player cant keep in time and drums sound like their in a different room down the hall there is so much potential here but lacking in fundamentals
Yeah, those dudes are total hacks! I mean, their resume... Stevie Wonder... Prince... too bad they aren't pros!
@@portlandcelloproject hey im not saying they're bad people this is just a bad recording.
@@joshbutts1708 The bass intro doesn't even sync up with the vid lol. But all the orchestral work is nice anyway
I adore almost everything about this. But I'm a firm believer in staying on pitch if you're going to go for drawn out runs.
She was flat the entire song :/
More attention should have been put on the musicians. I would really recommend redoing this with either a different vocalist or after shes had more training.
I kinda agree. Allow me to paste my own reaction i posted: "Would have been better if she had just sung it straight instead of adding fancy little frilly trillys. You never fight fire with fire; and it this case, you don't crush a soul with Soul."
It feels I'm definitely here. So thin bass. Nice attempt.
Isn't it funny that one nerd with a long fringe wrote all of their parts?
Her singing was great, BUT it just would have been better if she had sung it straight. Unfortunately, she instead she adds fancy little frilly trillys. You don't fight fire with fire; and it this case, you don't crush a soul with Soul. After all of the work they did to orchestrate this complex piece unplugged, they actually defeated the purpose of the song itself. The whole point was for her voice to be One with the crying strings.
yeah it was little too much but still cool
She did a great job putting her own touch on it. Thom would be proud.
Great covers. I didn't like it, but still, great covers.
lmao what
Omg that bad DRUMMER
not enough groovy and mostly out of tempo.
but you guys have serious potential. keep going! feel the music! BE THE MUSIC!
The tempo started off perfect then it got too fast once the drummer entered. Drummer rushed the rhythm and the tempo got ruined the rest of the recording. The bassist should have stopped the take and made the try again.
would have loved more singing and horns going nuts on national anthem. Vocal runs are the exact opposite of the point, though...
Steve jobs on video needs to calm down too. Slow. Down. TNA is way too fast and all over the place. Disappointed.
Actually agree. As soon as the drums started, it felt way to rushed.
They play it so quick live. Watch reading 2009. Its probably even quicker than this
dude sack your drummer, all the timing of adolf hitler in 1945,
This is not soul music, jees.
Agreed. And i can't help but paste my own comment here: "Would have been better if she had just sung it straight instead of adding fancy little frilly trillys. You never fight fire with fire; and it this case, you don't crush a soul with Soul."
So wonderful but not a big fan of the trumpet for the vocal part choice on the national anthem....doesn't go so well it's good for background in this composition but not for the front... a violin or a person's voice would have been better
Nice performance but she's out of tune.
I feel like this tune makes me panic more.
she is not
yeah this was disappointing
