Ive been wearing amber tinted glasses for years and its changed my life. Its makes the world look much colorful, when i take them off everything is too blue
I couldn’t agree more with you regarding lens tinting. I purchased a pair of Silhouettes with a yellow lens and haven’t looked back. My next purchase will be another pair of Silhouettes (TMA) with a 25% tint of pure yellow. Great videos, I appreciate the content! 💪🏽🇺🇸
My favourite tint, and I was just experimenting when I chose it, hence why I fitted it to an Eco frame. Nothing against them, but I'll get the Violet in a better pair one day
You give such good advice. Thank you! My collection is four pairs, none clear. That last pair is exactly what I need, a "Swiss Army knife" of glasses. The frame, the Adaptive Sun gradient brown, (but maybe with a red flash), all perfect.
Brilliant video. Love your explanation. These are all perfect pairs. Appreciate you're talking tints here but for me I'd just add my clear DriveSafe frame for night driving and I'd have all scenarios covered and have a perfect eyewear wardrobe. Thanks 👍
I just fitted a gradient red tint to my frames. Kinda warms up the stark white lights in the hospital……however, getting a little tired of people complementing me on my shades 😂🙄. The last pair you wore are sick 👌🏼
I'm now tempted to get tinted lenses because of you but can't decide which color, mostly I'm in front of computer and other digital devices also with bright surroundings but I also want it to be versatile for everyday use, I hope you could help thank you!
Have you ever considered making a video about the FL41 tint? FL41 is a pinkish or salmon colored lens that some people use for migraines and what not. It's sort of a hybrid of rose and orange, possibly with some brown mixed in.
I just got tinted glasses today! It was a brown tint of 50%. Now I'm wishing I researched and asked people more about different colors... so hoping I like them 🤞 Got them for ADHD. I never thought of myself as being sensitive to light, but in loud, busy or open I'm environments my brain does start to feel overwhelmed, and also florescent lights do make me feel a little off... so hoping the tints help my world feel a little smaller and easier to focus on the moment.
Hello. I have Progressive lenses from Ziess at the moment for every day use. I am wondering if single vision lenses are best for watching TV or movies? Would be great to cover this in a video. I enjoy your channel.
Hi Robert - I would love a gradient tint on Zeiss Office Lenses - but can I have this as well as Zeiss Blueguard? Many thanks for all your really great videos!!
You mentioned how when you took off your sweet violet pair everything seemed a bit dull. I understand it looking different however what you see without a tint surely is the most accurate in terms of colours? Any tint will enhance a particular part of the colour spectrum I would’ve thought - and while one might choose to do that - it’s not 100% accurate as nature intended esp if you’re outdoors? I appreciate all the effort you put into your videos btw.
Now I’m bummed. I thought the magma orange would be good for sunny situations based on another video. Looks like I will need dark to protect from the bright California sun ☀️ thanks for the info
Right now I can only afford one pair of glasses. Now if money wasn’t an issue… I’d have more than one pair of tinted glasses. When specifically out doing photography I’d want the pioneer photo fusion, then the sweet violet for style and calming, and one more to coordinate with outfits. Don’t want a tint on my only pair I’m getting though because my night vision is poor so I need as much light coming through as possible.
Hi Robert, would it be possible to have a clip on frame with smart clear varifocal lenses but have the clip on with the adaptive polarised diamond flash lens?
Wow Robert! I like the clear frames w/the tinted lenses, a lot! Im getting ready to get a new pair. My problem is my rt eye is cross eyed due to a vax injury. I want to disguise it somewhat with a maybe gradient tint. I have a small face and light complexion. I also lean toward tortoise shell. Any suggestions? TY! 😎
Hi, why don't you book a virtual consultation with Rob and he'll help you choose your perfect pair - just drop us an email at hello@thespectaclefactory.com if you are interested
So what's that last one, specifically? Where can I find it? I'm new to this tinted/sunglasses thing but can only afford one all around at the time being.
At 10:30, your brown "Adaptive Sun" Reykjavik Eyes glasses with a gradient of 75% up top and 25% on bottom are far more transparent indoors than I would expect them to be. It looks like the tint is only at 40% on top. It could be your camera adjusting for exposure that makes them look lighter in the video. Still, these are my favorite pair of glasses on you. You look like Bond, James Bond.
I like the idea off having a eyewear wardrobe but just can't justify spending £500 to £1000 per each pair (I need progressive lenses) especially considering in two years my prescription will probably change meaning all pairs would need replacing again. The adaptive sun with the gradient tint, could you use them for driving at night or are they too dark for that?
Yeah, definitely not suitable for night driving unfortunately. I get your point about cost but not all of my glasses have the same prescription... in fact, all 4 pairs I covered here have a slightly different prescription!
I love that purple tint on your clear grey frames. I was thinking similar lines for JMM Taos in Tempest colour (light clear grey frame). With light rose or purple tint for indoor and transition to Amethyst outdoor. Also what do you suggest for light indoor tint on JMM Ichikawa frame in black. I don't think I would like transition on that as it is so much a sophisticated optical frame. Tint just gives bit of attitude I feel.
Hello! I was wondering what are your thoughts on using tints to “hide” the coke bottle look of a strong prescription? I’m -13.50/-12.00, and I’m wondering if I add a strong tint will that help conceal the look of a strong prescription? Thank you!!
What was going on with the dimming and brightening on the video? I just found your channel. I have pretty gnarly vision, or lack thereof. I have aphakia and nystagmus. I have worn some very thick and heavy glasses my entire life. Heavy enough to cause a deviated septum. Every time I get a new dr, they bring their staff in for a gander at my eyes. Lol
Hello Spectacle Factory. I have a question. If I put a full strength color mirror (not a flash mirror, but a full strength mirror) on a photofusion lens, will people still be able to see my eyes when the lens is in the clear state?
Hi, why don't you email us at hello@thespectaclefactory.com and we'll give you the best advice possible and help you decide on the perfect combination. We look forward to hearing from you😊 -Haleemah
I have been using glasses for all my life, and I definitely don't find it practical to have a broad range of very specific glasses - maybe because mine are needed every day and everywhere, so I start with my glasses 1st thing in the morning and I wear them until going to sleep, for all tasks I do each and every day. Just considering going around with a collection of specific glasses for each activity is a nightmare. Maybe having one for every day and a special one for some occasions - maybe a formal event - would be ok. I'd go for one excellent jack of all trades, offering the closest to ideal visual support for every occasion, in and outdoors.
I understand where you're coming from. I personally switch my glasses when I get in the car, if I go out for a walk, when I get home and if I get changed to go out somewhere. I really don't see the inconvenience in that since I would change my shoes and other accessories in most of those situations too. It doens't mean carrying multiple pairs at all times.
@@thespectaclefactory Thanks for the reply, but it may be a question of lifestyle: I leave in the morning and come back in the evening, w/o the opportunity to change shoes or clothes during the day. Glasses certainly would be easier to carry and change, but it'd mean carrying them around. Long ago I gave separate sunglasses a try as a 2nd pair, but it didn't work for me - photocromic on a single pair or nothing was the conclusion.
I don’t know why it is so hard too get tints here in United States. I went yesterday and they had all of these old tints in a binder. I ordered purple and pink and it is up in the air what they will ultimately look like when I get them. Where are you? You would think I would live in a really fashionable place not that far from Hollywood. They were so uninformed about tints. Is it more of an art to getting the right colors of tints?
Definitely! I hear this same story from all over the world. Opticians often don't know much about tints. Of course you can order from us, we have lots of clients in L.A.
@@thespectaclefactorybut if I’m ordering from the USA, how do you get data from Visufit 1000, I.profiler plus, I.scription etc? Or are remote orders simply based on prescription and PD? From your videos, those Zeiss measurements are important to getting the best vision from a pair of glasses
1:13 your glasses tint here, can you wear them at work if you work in hospitality as a waitress? Can you get in trouble at work or is there a lie you could spin to get away with wearing tinted lenses all day everyday?
There is a link between blue violet light exposure and retina damage that could lead to Age-Related Macular Degeneration. Violet tint isnt that good for your eyes
I’m not certain _“white”_ means what you think it does. It’s physically impossible for something to get *brighter* with reduced lighting. Not a debatable point. And I’d steer away from your “environmentalism” angle IIWY. Environmentalists don’t own several pairs of fashion glasses. You can talk about environmentalism, just not as it relates to you. Long/short, disingenuous, rhetorical manipulation tends to be self-defeating.

You look incredible in that lavender tint. Wow!
Thanks Dustin. I really love them
Can you pls tell me the name of the designer of the green frames?
Violet suits his skintone
100% my favourite part is that error sound! (Oh and the glasses are nice too, especially the sweet violet 💜)
Sometimes my brain stops for moments at a time

Very well put 👏 And also a slightly tinted pair for 'everyday' wear, I think.
I like them all three, but the sweet voilet a red flash mirror coating would look good, I think.
I've often thought about that combination, actually. I think you'll be right

Thank you ❤️ I love them too
Great content Robert.
