Broken Dreams fr 🥺
Matt is the final boss of all Honda bros.
Matt is the biggest little honda bro LOL :P
No Honda Pro Jason? Lol
The more EM1 mods I watch you do, the more I realize that I really am a lil Honda bro 100%. Both wheels are iconic.
The Spoon wheel with the accompanying lugs and calipers is pretty rock solid. Those and the Mugen MF8’s are some of the original Honda bro dream wheels.
All the young kids still going to think they're Rota Slipstreams
Damn, the main goal for my cars is to impress young kids.
Lmao i’ve seen so many buy rock rota’s it’s not even funny. I truly see it as ricer since they’re not original
@@trackshun Some people just need showing the good stuff. I had a set of slips on my first track car as I liked the style and didn't know any better. Now I race on Rays and have a wheel company.
I knoooow it would kill me to spend 800$ a wheel and have someone think its a rota xD
@kevtalbot137 that's weird. Why would you want to do that? What else are you trying to do to them?
The original SW388 & Regamaster were both made by Desmond in Russia. The new versions are both manufactured by Taneisya in Japan but don’t have any relation to each other, other than that. The new SW388 is commissioned by Spoon and the new Desmond Regamaster name was bought by ICB Motorsports and commissioned by them. That’s why the new SW388 and new EvoII have different designs-they just happen to be made in the same place in Japan.
Chris I’m going to ask because I know you know the answer. What’s the differences between the og Evo and the evo 2? I notice the lips and possibly the spokes are different widths.
@@barnfind124 yes the sizes and offsets offered are different. I don’t know all the various differences though. One of the bigger design differences has to do with the “slots” or valleys on the sides of the spokes. Also now, ICB seems to have released an Evo II “tarmac” model which incorporates the flatter lip that some OG’s had. (The OG had both style lips also but I think which lip you got depended on the diameter or model). But other than minor design changes I’d say the biggest difference is that the EVO II should be a lot stronger than the old ones due to modern manufacturing techniques. All the OG are very old these days and they have a tendency to develop a crack on the inside lip of the barrel.
@@ChrisLumNSX yeah all those points make sense and I agree. The og wheels imo are noticeably better looking I think. The new sw388 are definitely different looking from any view compared to the og sw388s. Appreciate the comment back.
Also to piggy back, the current Evo2 Regamaster are made by Rays in the same press as the TE37.
@@dguerrero115 no the evo2 are made by Taneisya not Rays.
The spoon wheels are more of a track oriented wheel but definitely suit the car better...
The Spoons look the best by far! The best of all the wheels so far, hands down!
Spoon is the way to go.
Not new spoons incorrect.
I’m estimating that on a 205 you may only need to run -3 camber in the front with the 7.5 width. Which is the most I would personally go. You also need to remember that most of the little Honda bro’s are removing the front liners because they don’t care. I say DO NOT remove the liner or you’ll have more gravel in the jambs than what you want. Other option is to remold the liners by heating them up and pressing in on the rub areas.
205 ON A 7.5 THE STRETCH WOULD LOOK UNHAPPY HAHAH
ayyy good seeing you here
I'm so glad there's more Honda content again. I love seeing all these great parts on such a perfect car
SW388 ALL DAY 😈
Spoon/Nissin Brakes
Showa/Spoon Coilovers
Wrapped in Advans'
I thought I hated the Spoons when they were on the table but seeing them on the car with the lugs and center caps... I’m in love.
Ive always had a passion for cars and i just recently started working at honda in my spare time i love watching RUclips videos of cars. I subscribed almost immediately when i saw this, this is literally the most beautiful civic ever looks like i have a bunch of content to catch up on!!!
3-4 degrees negative in the front is actually perfect for a FWD track setup. Will be less likely to roll onto the sidewall/edge and push the front end through a corner. I like the sw388 wheels on the car. But am still partial to the CE28's.... also a set of Bronze or Formula Silver OG tE37s would look amazing.
Basest Em1 on planet earth!! I love all the tweaking & figuring out, I need a “Honda Bro” limited T-shirt
Man your shop and that car… gotta be one of the most beautiful set ups I’ve ever seen…
I’d pay too dollar to work in a shop like that!
Just found your channel and subscribed!
From one very long time Honda guy to another… I’m blown away!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
My vote is for the spoon.
I'm really sure you would like these weds sport tc105n they have a very nice finish and it would show off the spoon calipers very nicely with the spoon spec which is the +30 offset I believe. Thank me later
tc105n look best on the 8th gen si sedan.
Too many spokes to look good on the em1 imo. definitely a more modern look for the later gens
@@gallardo20000 🤢🤮 they look so damn disgusting on a 8th gen, I just spend 20 mins looking for a ek with these wheels on Google and I can't even find on to share a link to. virtually on every other car I see no more they like good, sedans, coupes, vans, hatches, but the 8th gen in the first place looks ugly. Unless it has the HPD body kit then it's okay looking.
@@kouki_integra lol 8th gen is the best generation Si ever made, aside from the Em1. Get your facts straight. The 2008 Mugen Si is just fantastic and a relic if you can find one these days only 1000 ever made. You can't find a pic of an ek with wedsport cause they're not even designed for that chassis lol, tc105 are a modern wheel for modern chassis like FRS, s2000 etc. Tell me this 8th gen looks bad... drive.google.com/file/d/1jU1M0HGoL8NK1Uy73D0oi8AZZaW6gxPg/view?usp=sharing
@@gallardo20000 you get your facts straight look it up, I just sent you the link so you can see for yourself they make these wheels in the wheel pattern and spec's that he wants to run. And I'm not going to argue with you about an ugly ass 8th gen civic. I think there ugly.. that's my opinion, period.
Always loved the shape of 16” Regas over the Spoon wheels. The smoother lip of the Regas look so much better! But I really love the Mugen MF-10’s in 16” bronze over both the others.
Spoon hood, Spoon mirrors, Spoon brakes, gotta have Spoon wheels. Anything else just doesn't belong lol. That being said, I remember building my Si in NFSUG2 exactly like this (but with the Rota Slipstreams) when I was like 12 lol
I’m going to sound real old but I had 15” Spoon wheels on my EM1 Civic Si back in 2000. They’re definitely an acquired taste after watching hours of Spoon race cars lapping tracks and setting records. It is a race wheel and they worked great on track. I had a street set I’d swap to when I wasn’t on track. I didn’t like the look enough to justify the cost and eventually sold the wheels.
Spoon made the SW388s in collaboration with Desmond which had HQ in Russia. They make forged wheels. Desmond Regamaster (Evo) are a more show-y edition of the SW388 being that the Spoon versions have a specific finish for racing lacking even the slightest ounce or gram of weight that is spent on coating. Newer ones have a fold on the end of the spokes into the wheel's barrel like you pointed out in the video. Desmond Regamaster has been under the production of Monster Sport now and are not currently in production for a while.
Brings back memories. In 1999 I owned a red 99 Si with white spoon wheels I think and a dunk exhaust. It was stolen while I was working. That was the end of my civic experience lol.
I've always like the regamasters because they don't have the extra holes between the lug holes.
That makes the regas much cleaner
The spoon wheels are regamasters, so I would paint the cleaner regas he has, slap that spoon center cap on them, and call them my spoon wheels 👍
@@da_jeezuss8922 smh lol
Weight reduction my man
Regamasters!!
Big Honda Bro here ,
Love the spoons 👌🏼Classic.
But when I win this car I’ll prob have TE37s on one side and Spoons on the other.
#ihopeiwin #please #dreamcometrue #lifeiscomplete #detailislife #hondalife
Inb4 Honda Bro’s tshirt. The decals make a big difference and will make the wheels more interesting once installed. I refinished Kosei k1 recently and installing the factory decals was a nice touch of detail.
I have 15x7 +38 205/50/15 RE71R on my ITR. No roll and camber -2.2 /-1.8 Mild 35mm drop (from already lower ITR height) and they just fit. Keep in mind RE71R run wide. I think you can fit the Spoon 16x7.5 and 205 and the negative camber won’t be very noticeable. Spoon theme.
Needs 15' spoons with some thicc sidewalls...
As long as they are 15x7. The 15x6.5 look weak.
As a little honda bro I'm digging these videos
What I have on my Civic SI, are 195/50 R15 with same style and finish wheel as the Spoon. Also best way to explain that type of finish on the Spoon wheels, its like a new chalkboard.
Need a 205 or 195 tires on the Spoon wheels. I ran 195/40/16 on BBS RS 16x7.5 wheels (on a VW) and they fit great with very little stretch. Some tires look better stretched than others. Depends on the sidewall profile of the tire and if it has a rim protector or not. If you don't like the finish on the Spoon wheels get them blasted and powdercoated in any color you desire!
Class is in session...
That blue looks so good with the HQ lighting.
Not sure if you addressed this but do you plan on running the OEM optional rear lip? I feel like it really sets off the em1 and completes the car. +110 Jdm little honda bro points too.
Matt always with the cleanest builds. So jealous.
I have 16" Desmond Ragamasters sprayed matt black on my turbo, JDM ITR - they honestly look great on the car.
Big Honda Bro Matt! lol. Those spoons are the ones for me. It looks so damn good with those wheels. Lets see how it sits when the tires are swapped.
I think white Regas are the perfect wheels for 6th gens. Love the new gunmetal finish, but not on EBP :/ but I do love the all-Spoon-everything look!
I'm running the new Spoon rims now and they're awesome.
Spoons look the best and with the brakes too. Looks smooth, I feel like I’m playing GT2 haha
Of these two, if you can make ‘em fit, I like the look is the Spoon better.
I believe Desmond made regamaster and the spoon wheels. It's basically the same wheels with different finish. They were made in Russia back then the new Regamaster Evo II is made in Japan.
Desmond indeed made the Spoon wheels back in the day.
It’s unfortunate the finish on the spoons are temperamental, but either wheel looks really nice. I’d personally choose the Spoon of the two to match the brakes. Can’t lose with any of the chosen wheels though aside from fitment. All great wheel choices!
My vote has to go with The SW388s, you don’t get more JDM and period correct. Plus the awesome calipers and the center caps. Fantastic! I had an electron blue Si back in the day and I had bronze Volk CE28s and I thought that was the best wheel and now I’m kinda wishing I had gone with the Spoon wheels
Matt, I’m sure you get a lot of hate from all the money you spend on this Car. And while people might say that the same money can be spent on better wheels, I think there is something special in even placing such iconic wheels on the car.
I’ve never been a Honda fanboy, I’ll be the first to say that I think it’s pretty awesome that your doing this for the community (even though it’s for yourself), Kind of living peoples younger dreams and fantasy’s by will haha.
The series will go down as a comprehensive database for upgrades all the civic boys for the rest of RUclips’s future - something that’s never been done before. I think that’s pretty cool in itself.
You can probably promote the giveaway more in the beginning to maximise profits - I’m sure the loyal subs won’t mind.
Keep up the killer work Matty. We appreciate the process.
The rear upper control arm is or becomes the camber arm when you have a adjustable one, the toe arm is to the front on the trailing arm.
Spoons. I had black 99 Si which I put a Rev Hard turbo kit on for the 2000 Nopi car show. I was the only Si with a turbo that year.
I am not nearly as picky as Matt clearly. I love both sets of wheels. Btw the green or olive I would say looks great on the electron blue. I like that finish better than the flat black personally.
Regamasters for me. There’s just something about the way they looked with those lug nuts. I’m curious to see them once the tires are switched and you apply the stickers. That may make or break the look due to the red which to that I would say maybe red calipers but I’m not sure.
I had both on my 99 Civic. 15” Black Spoons and 16” Almighty Gray Regas.
can anyone tell me what those other holes are on the spoons?
Sik vid lilHandaBro. I’m torn bro’s. I love the look (no added holes by lugs), the glossy finish, the 16x7 ET38 of the Regas. But that color on EBP? 🥴
The spoons have that god awful spray paint like finish.
I have the fix. Refinish the Regas in gloss black. Or do the sensible thing and TE everything. 🤔
I'm going spoon. The look with the lugs and center cap is classic.
I Will put 15inch SW388 3.88kg with 195/55/15 ADVAN A050 with 90s aggressive track day setup ! 😍
I love both sets. The Spoon wheels are the clear winner for me. Please include them when I win the car.
I love what your doing to this car.
You’re so true to yourself, I love it!
Out of the two...the spoon wheels. Love the aggressive TE37’s in the earlier vid.
Matt it is almighty grey heard it called on the Regas. Should of done white with stickers to pull the red emblems out on the si! and yes Spoon I believe was a specific build by Desmond.
I have a set of 16x7 Regas on my 2000 Integra Type R.
Cant you take a tazer to the antenna above the driver door to disable the alarm system?
Love em both. Sick wheels.
Is there install video of the spoon brake calipers?
Spoon wheels for sure with 205’s or the 215’s made to work with suspension adjustments and roll the rear quarters a bit more.
This car deserves more. Some nr10r with the teal center cap would be perfect. Out of the two however def sw.
Matt the gt3 & gt4 are awesome cars. I know a car that will tick all the same boxes for a faction of the gt3, and it makes a great daily driver the Lotus Evora. You can pick up a used one for 40k to 50k or New for around 110,000. In my opinion used is the path to go, for 40 or 50 you can get one with around 15 to 20 thousand miles on the clock. Take a look you want regret it.
The finish on the Regamaster's look great with the Civic, the Spoon flat black just doesn't look right. I vote for the Rega's!
Super clean. Awesome.
My heart skipped a beat when the SW388s went on. 😍
Spoon wheels and try the new 205/45/16 595Rs-pro tire. Federal runs a little wider so the 205 fits the ek chassis almost perfect and I love the grip they offer.
Go with a CCW classic, gunmetal with a polished lip, 16x7!
What is the color code of the first ring? I want to paint mine and they are that color!
those Spoons look REALLY good imo, wow
OG SW388 and Regamaster Evo were made by Desmond in Russia. The reproduce (SW388 and Evo II) are now made by Taneisya Wheel Supply in Japan
Its so awesome seeing you work on my prize 👍
Hello Matt , How is the wheel spacer from Future Classic?
Is there any kind of vibration ?
What do you think of it after using it for a while?
Some people say 10mm spacers are the most unsafe one to use since BMW Hub is about 10mm.
How is your 10mm holding up in the rear?
Thank you.
All good. No issues.
I like the spoons
Man this video was very satisfying 👌 spoons and remove the tint and it's good to go my man.
I like this style wheels the best, for the first time the rear doesn't look ugly. The offset should be a tad lower perhaps +33 rather than +38.
Definitely prefer the spoon. Sure the finish on them could use some tlc given your high standards but i’m sure it’s nothing you can’t resolve. That and switching to the 205 it should fit perfectly to avoid the dreaded hot boy look.
I'm loving the spoon wheels honestly!
Like the spoon wheel set up more
I say the spoon setup 🤙
Those wheels are iconic, they look amazing on stock Honda's
So I've paused 30 secs in to this vid, straight away I would pick the Regamaster purely by it's centre design around the bolt holes, the Spoon's look like cheap multi-fit wheels (I understand they aren't). Likewise the matt Black is a poor choice of colour on any car that is a 'looker'. Personally I'd opt for a silver wheel, so you can actually see them on the car & appreciate the intricacies of the design. Love the series & the car so far. EBP EM1 has a special place in my heart.
Matt, you should have gone with a 215/40 but there aren't very many options for that tires size. Spoons look better than the Desmonds. Also should try to get ahold of Hondapro Jason for any questions that pertain to honda.
Can anyone tell me what brand of lugs Matt is speaking of???
The Spoons look great!
Hey mate, what is the weight difference of these? Cheers :-)
Pretty hard to pick between the two as they are both OG wheels. However the more I look at the Regamaster, the more they look like the steel wheels I use with my winter tires...
What size tires are on the spoon wheels?
215/45
WHY IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE OTHER THAN SPOON?! I'm sorry...I yelled. I will see myself out.
Because Spoon doesn't make TE37s.
@@MX304 I won't disagree with you lol! But between these 2 it's Spoon all day long.
I love the spoon setup
I knew I always wanted them I also knew I wouldn't like either one on the car. story of my life.
The thing that always bothered me looking at these Civics even when they’re all shiny show ready and pretty was the flat black door pillars personally I always painted those plastics on all the earlier Honda’s I had when I was younger so the side of car looks like one big piece of glass black and shiny
Neither wheels, dark wheels dont work well on the blue car in my opinion. Need a lighter gray or silver wheel. Fyi I am sure you noticed, front driverside on an EM1 stock has a larger spring, so it will sit crooked if you dont adjust for that.
Damn! That's one bad-ass Honda Civic SI
I wish Mugen CF-48 were still for sale new. Full black, 15" +38 offset, with aero disks. Old school Honda! 🔰
Wanted the regamaster for my eg. But decided to go with the spoons instead!! Only way togo!!
Regamasters as they don’t have the extra holes which just looks odd on the spoons to me. Get them powder coated gloss black and that’ll look mint 👌🏻
Just a little tip the rt660 are slightly wider then the RE71r on the same size
29:04
Front 1" fender, tire gap. Rear 1/2" gap. Mainly so that the front tires don't grind the fenders and liners.
