I know literally nothing about Banjo and Kazooie but your general enthusiasm about the franchise combined with the editing gags made this video very enjoyable. Keep up the great work! Also I feel like a better option for the treasure chests would’ve been galarian stunfisk since it tricks you into thinking it’s loot only to attack you with its bear trap like body once you get close and it’s shiny form makes it brown similarly to that of a treasure chest.
I ran out of drink half way through this video and didn't want to pause it but also didn't want to get up and walk away for fear of missing this little visual gags going on.
The amount of L's you took and pointed out with your editing had me dead. I'm dead thanks to you. I'm free of this mortal coil. Thank you. Also this video convinced me to finally, finally get around to playing the Banjo-Kazooie games. They look like nostalgic '90s fun. Thanks!
29:50 So I don't know much about Banjo and Kazooie (thats a fun name to write and hear) but I think that for Clanker's cavern an old engineer would fit. No one like to work with old, and often malfunctioning, machines save for the people who know how to operate them and Clanker seems rusty enough. I imagine having like a big old belly and a dwarf physique or kinda like a santa with brown bear. He would also wear protective gear (oil and waste are not fun to be around) so and overall, some anti-slippery boots and gloves. Some rags and wrenches on the side. But his big characteristic would be a pair of googly-googles to match clankers! and a big old smile as well! (more in the kind way less in the childhood jumpscare way, sorry Clankers I didnt grew up with you to understand you) Dunno what to do with the head. I would give him a hard helmet but I think that would break the sillouete that I have in my head. nice vid :>
I love how this video goes between Twiins giving pro tips, reaching for pokemon to represent various things and Twiins's souls gradually leaving body in editing because she got so many names wrong in such a comedic fashion
This was such a cool video??? o: And honestly I feel like Pokemon should start making leaders a bit more in this style, because even when there was overlap (water with Treasure Trove, Ice with Freezeezy) there was still enough variety and extra elements that made it unique and fun! I'd love to see a follow up video for this where you drew what the levels' gym leaders looked like!! :D
This is such a fun little video omg. Edit: I think if you do something like this, I think you should make teams based on Psychonauts levels. I feel that the teams based on those levels would be a whole lot more balanced type-wise, because the levels are based on people's minds rather than environments that you can physically go to.
This was a fun video :) I saw Spiritomb as a more general representation of all the ghosts across the level, since it's a bunch of spirits contained together. It would have been neat to see your take on Grunty's tower itself :)
Not too familiar with Pokemon but I can definitely get behind more Banjo!!! I like how you explain your reasoning for your choices, especially for the long stretches!
Fun little short story on the most terrifying thing in my video game childhood: Dark Cloud's introduction (PS2 game) : Where this fat guy and some rich old dude plot to take over the world (or something). They summon a genie who is 20 times their size and is also fat. Long story short, the Genie gets hungry and grabs the fat guy and just gulps him one bite. And that TERRIFIED 8 year old Lillith. I ended up running to my mom scared because I was so terrified. Anyways Dark Cloud is a great game 10/10 would recommend . Favorite playable character is probably Xiao because she can get a slingshot named Steve that can talk during combat.
It was fun to see what you came up with for every level. The biggest shock to me is Click Clock Wood, the most unique level in the game, getting a majority Normal-type team that fits perfectly.
This editing had me laughing so hard! When Dusclops just hurled at the screen at me, I honestly had to do a double take. Pitch perfect editing, I tell ya Edit: also, completely unrelated, but I love the name "Stakataka" so much, like what genius came up with that?
Interesting idea but here’s some Pokémon you could swap out: - Stonjourner for Tauros in Mumbo’s Mountain to represent Bigbutt the bull since this is the first level you run into it - Crawdaunt for Shellder in Treasure Trove Cove to represent Yum-Yum the clam - Bellossom or Carbink for Kantonian Marowak to represent Limbo the skeleton - Torkoal for Klinklang to represent the spinning group of gears and platforms in the ship’s infamous engine room
Creative. You might be able to get an Elite Four if we add Spiral Mountain, Grunty's Lair, and Grunty's Furnace Fun. Maybe with Top of the Tower for the Champion. Just a thought, but maybe Alolan Muk? Oil slicks are kinda rainbowy.
There are a lot of water levels! I think it's actually pretty smart, since water at first acts as an easy to handle punishment for failing your platforming (you don't die you just have to swim back to shore). But as the game progresses it gets more challenging by including hazards to the water (like the Piranhas in the swamp), meaning you'll take damage if you mess up. And it all sorta culminates with Rusty Bucket Bay where just being in the water (not even under the water, just like, swimming at the surface) will deplete your oxygen. Meaning it's not just a hazard but also acts as a good challenge for all the fast-paced underwater navigation you need to do to get all the jiggies.
Oranguru is a orangutan, not a gorilla. Passimian is a ring-tailed lemur, not a monkey. Lemurs are far more primitive and ancient then other species of primates.

I had considered Alolan Muk, but I felt the original version felt more..... "toxic" for some reason.
