Oh no! That time of year again, I'm glad it's just a mild annoyance now...I hope that's how I'll feel for the next one 😄. It's so true about the different stages from fear to mild annoyance! Super useful video that I think everyone will get a lot of reassurance from. I've been saying I'll do a report video for ages too, so I'm glad one of us got our act together and did it 🤣👏
Thank you so much! It’s been a long time coming and took me ages to get done!! There’s not enough of this info about, so the more videos the better ☺️. I look forward to seeing your video when it comes out! I love the supportive culture there is amongst us home educators. We can all learn so much by sharing our experiences and bouncing ideas off each other 🥰
@@YesYouCanHomeEducate I wouldn't hold your breath that it will be out anytime soon 😆. There is such a supportive culture, it's true, and it's exactly what you need on this journey!
Hi Jenny thanks for all the advice it’s been so helpful. I’m currently HE my gcse age child, could you please make a video for secondary age reporting? Thanks so much!
Brilliant video for me to refer back to. We have just had our first meeting and email today that I’m meeting requirements and no concerns and I’ll be left to it until 12 months. X
I admin a local Facebook Home Ed group, I will be sharing your video on there tomorrow, reports are something that I see parents really get in a state about and really overthink it!
Fantastic video I would love to see the secondary school report please as I have a son that is 12 years old. He would be in year 8 at school and we are new to home education. Thanks in advance 😊
My son was in year 7 secondary school. Now home educating but in the report I feel and sure it’s important to add his SEND. needs not sure how to do this part and ideas ? Please. Thank you the video is so so helpful b
Hi, I don’t have personal experience with SEND needs, but if it were me I would probably add a line about my child’s SEND needs in the general introduction (I’m referring to my own way of writing reports here- this is towards the end of the video), and then add some information about how I accommodate for them. In the video I show the form provided by the local authority (at minute 15:04). This is all they ask for. You could add things like giving your child more time, frequent breaks or whatever other techniques/ resources you use to help them. It may be worth checking out some of the home education Facebook groups to see what other parents in your situation do too. Hope that helps.
I’m sorry to hear that. Did they clarify what they thought was missing? I strongly recommend you go to the “Home Education and Your Local Authority: Help with Dealing with Officialdom” Facebook page. They are excellent, and help parents in your situation every day. If you’re not on Facebook, the Education Otherwise Home Education Charity website is worth visiting. You can contact their advisors for help.

Ahh, thank you so much, I hope it will be helpful ☺️…and well done you for this year! It’s such a relief to get it out of the way isn’t it?
My biggest concern was the report. Now seeing yours it doesn’t look that scary .
Thank you for this video.
Ahh, you’re so welcome, I’m glad you found it helpful!

Thank you ☺️, it can be daunting the first time you are required to submit a report, I’m so glad you’ve found it useful!

We're just starting our home ed journey and these forms scare me lol thanks for this video
You’re very welcome! I used to think they were scary too, but they’re actually fine, just more of an inconvenience than anything else! ☺️
