The first time I started seriously started considering Breitling again was with the introduction of the B01 movement. A B01 chronomat and navitimer later, I'm QUITE happy with the direction they're taking. Thanks for this though; it's awesome seeing a tidy bicompax chronograph from them to contrast the bicompax omegas. I'm not sure how I feel about it being ETA 7753 derived when they have their own calibers, but given the price point, it makes sense for the top time.
I know what your saying regarding the ETA movement, but money talks, selling price talks. I like Chronograph’s and have been fortunate enough to be able to purchase another one recently (last one for a long time I think) namely the Longines Spirit Chrono. Talking of bi compax designs I do like the relatively new Fortis!

I really like what Breitling is doing lately. I really like the Dues, new super ocean and the lime green 41 bo1 Navi.... but the good models are almost $10,000 or more. I can get a lot more value from Omega, Longines and Tudor. I dont even think you can get the Dues anyway. I would love to have a Navi... but not at almost $10,000... Not when I can get a speedmaster for $6000
Never buy a Breitling at retail unless it's a limited edition. Even at their own boutique I was getting offered 10-15% discount. Ended up buying the new Navitimer for under 7k
Although I do agree that you get an amazing deal with the Speedmaster it’s in no way comparable with a Navitimer. What I mean is that if you can only spend a certain amount of money once I think the Speedmaster is the smartest buy, because it’s sporty, classy and easy to wear in a lot of occasions. The Navitimer is a lot bigger and a totally different watch on its own. I own both of them (New Speedmaster Moonwatch SS and a Navitimer 46 B01) and love them probably just as much. They are worth every penny I paid for them (both at retail minus 12%) and never regretted getting them. Another watch that really is a bargain for what you are getting is the Tudor Royal 41. Ok, no in house movement or exhibition caseback, but what do you expect for €2200,-!? Longines… sorry, just not into it. IWC is also a great brand and next to my Pilot Chrono 41 I’ve just put an order in for the “Lake Tahoe” 😍. In my opinion every watch collection should include a Speedmaster, Navitimer, Pilot’s watch and a “Sub / diver”…
As someone who had never looked at a watch, Breitling single handedly with their top time, got me into watches. Still the best looking watch on the planet for me.
Maybe I'm just being dramatic but this video had me tearing up a bit. I imagine Willy up in heaven, happy to see that his designs are still appreciated, even after his own company went under.
I recently learned you can use a tachymeter dial back to front after 60 seconds. On my Speedy l can time up to 8 minutes and 20 seconds ( 500 on the tachy dial).
off topic.. but why haven’t you reviewed the Accutron Spaceview yet ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????I’m super curious what you have to say about it.
OK, so, for a watch of this cost and limited -reduction status, there are a number of quality control issues that are readily apparent. First, the “E” in the Breitling name at the 12 o’clock position has a noticeably paint blotch on the top left. Plus, the crispness of the red paint on the hour hand and minute hand where it ends at the steel is likewise noticeably blotchy; it is not a crisp transition. Sorry, but those sorts of quality control issues are deal killers.
Hmm 🤔… Yes I do like it, but better in every way? I find it quite “top” heavy and just don’t like the rivets on the bracelet. The main reason I didn’t buy a BB yet… Next Tudor will probably be the Pelagos, but first the Zenith Chronomastet Sport 😍.
How on earth do you use the chronograph function anyway? And what’s with the blue sections of the dial that differentiate 15-35 seconds and 65-85 seconds? It all feels specifically designed for some mysterious purpose that none of us will ever encounter.
There is something about a watch that sections the dial with color only. It just doesn’t appeal to me. A difference in texture or elevation are great, it just color doesn’t do it. Tudor has one too…I hate it.
This Breitling Top Time can be directly compared to the Hamilton Intramatic automatic Chronograph and the Hamilton is objectively superior when comparing the movement and price.
Except objectively speaking your cellphone is a superior time keeper compared to either. So is a 20 dollar digital wrist watch as we both know. Dropping money for either is not a rational decision, it’s largely subjective. Subjectively, the watch featured in the video is a very good looking watch. It only needs to appeal to a select few, the Hamilton will be cranked out by the thousands. It isn’t difficult to suggest the Hamilton is the better value, the Breitling could easily be the more interesting watch.
@@waterfordrs22 Both the Hamilton and Breitling have almost identical cases, the movements are the same except that Hamilton took the time to increase the power reserve an additional 20 hours, as well as adding a date window and a variety of colors for $3,000 less than the Breitling.
