Thanks for watching guys! Me & Lee got pretty carried away talking about this beaut of a guitar so if you wanna skip our chatting & hear the guitar, skip to 16:00!
Really great man! What chord progression you play by 16:00?
What's your take on the stock gravity storm vs the evolutions
I am seriously thinking about buy it. What do you think? Is that a good deal?
Hey ya.. I just got one for the 2nd time (but this 2nd one I got didn't come with a hard case.. just a bag... Is that normal for a guitar over $2000?...
Did U get a hard case with it?
@@tenzinsangpo2221 did U get it?
Just bought the Jem 77P about 3 months ago. I owned an old RG1570 Prestige years ago and I've never owned a guitar like it until I got the Jem. It really is an amazing guitar, it's not all just flash.
Hi may I askHow much did you pay for this jem
Very good review!
However, I think you should stop interrupting your friend when he is talking. Try to count how many times did you do that :D its very disrupting to me. I want to hear him talk.
cant wait to pick one up
Wow, how this video has only 400 views?? Great Demo, helped me a lot as im planning to buy it next month :) Thanks!
Yoni Kraz hopefully it will get more views! Thanks for watching & I’m glad it helped 💪
It looks sick in black colour 🔥
I hope to get my hands on one of these masterpieces the following 10 days. And I can't wait!
I absolutely love this neck! I have couple of other instruments with really slim necks so the first impression was like dealing with something almost "square". Spending some time with one of that other instruments and then skipping to the Iby guitar gives me very different approach to playing! Have no idea where it comes from but this "fat" neck works just great! What I would complain about is maybe not a top quality finish and also cheaper fret wire...
The jack input solution applied here is particularly important for me when playing at home on the couch...
Hey guys, great review, but the fact that the pickups are switched out with aftermarket EVO’s should be in the description or title as the sound of it will be completely skewed.
Loved the demo as I’m waiting on my bfp, but have been particularly interested in hearing the original Gravity Storms in the guitar as it comes from factory
I've had mine for 2 years and i love it.
What is the song you played in the clean part? Really love it!!
Thanks Rob & Lee for another great video review/demo! A lot of interesting items about the guitar, sounds great, Lee!
Donna thanks for watching Donna! 💕
Love the Jems always fancied one of these
Steve Reynolds after trying one finally I now know what the fuss is about!
Nice job Rob & Lee. I've had my 77P for a couple of weeks now. I love it.
You said the "neck is wider" than that of the MIJ Jem7V. Actually, it's exactly the same. Ditto the thickness. I measured mine to be certain. However, it is a different rear profile and fretboard radius .
The 77P has a more pronounced "D" shape profile IMO. You feel the 'shoulders' (as I refer to them) a bit more. This may be what you removed by sanding. I've was tempted to do likewise, briefly.
The fretboard radius on the 7V is even flatter (@430mm) than that of the 77P (@400mm) but I barely notice that. I actually think I prefer the Premium Jem neck. :-)
ThePedroDB the rear profile on Lee’s is so thin now! But genuinely was so comfortable to play. Do you think you’ll sand yours at some point? Thanks for watching!
@@RobGalley I've owned a Jem70V for the last 5 years and have got used to the neck. I doubt I'll sand it now. As I said, the Premium Jem neck is actually my favourite. Even compared with the MIJ neck. I sanded the neck on a Jem Jr last year and made it slimmer than the Premium neck. It was fine but I just feel so 'at home' with the 70V (& now 77P). Deffo my 'go to' guitars!
Did U get a hard case with it. I just got a bag.. but years ago one I bought cone with a hard case...
@@Add_Account485 The Premium canvas covered hard case was discontinued in 2019 (IIRC) and replaced by a gigbag. The Ibanez M300C hard cases are a nice alternative at extra cost
It was hard for me to play power chords on the jem as well . Do you think that’s something you get used too and eventually it becomes easier to play power chords or do you think it will always be hard to play? I want a jem but I also wanna play a lot of metal riffs and that neck seems like it’s going to make it hard
I'm sure I heard some Extreme in there
Yeah you’re right😂 that is a sacrilege that you blocked of the tremolo
To block off a double-locking tremolo with a lion's claw says to me that Lee is not the ideal match for this guitar.
Nice Axe Bro! 💙👍 gonna get myself one 😀
19:24 that chord🤤. Sounds very good
Imagine that combined with a ce1 chrous 🤤
This guy is a mad man, sand paper to the neck, got rid of the trem pretty much and swapped out the pickups. My god thats insane!
He certainly knows what he likes and wants from a guitar. Fearless modding FTW!
I just got one of these and am curious if the middle pickup is actually a slightly different shade of blue (maybe darker) than the humbuckers. In most videos, it looks the same color and shade as the humbuckers and curious if this is a new change or something specific to my exact guitar.
Sweet! jem Rob & your buddy, is a killa player. Cheerio like 12
Todd aka SodaPop thanks Todd! Yeah he’s a rad player, great at the shred stuff!
@@RobGalley Hey Rob, your killa player too bro... I was just blow away by sweep arpeggios your friend did. Cheers
Man, that thing looks and sounds fantastic! I'm planning on getting one in the future, and just so I can plan ahead, are there any bad things that can be said about that guitar? Thanks man, and fantastic playing, by the way!
Gunslinger thanks for watching! There really isn’t anything wrong with this guitar, other than the pretty drastic volume difference between the humbuckers to the single coil, but that’s not that big of an issue! It’s really comfortable to play & looks/sounds great!
That it does! Thanks for the video, information, and for responding so quick! If there's anything else on your channel in the future regarding this guitar please let me know! Thanks again, and keep rockin'!
Great review. What pickup is in the bridge? Original Gravity Storm?
The bridge pickup and the neck pickup are both DiMarzio Evolution humbuckers. He swapped out the Gravity Storms for those almost immediately. 4:35
Just picked this up today. I love it.
you really great player bro \m/
0:55 don't worry I can't play like him either, that guitar is beautiful btw
Geetar is life he’s a great player! Puts me to shame hah, & yeah it’s sick. How about a paint job like this on your guitar build? 😂
@@RobGalley god I WISH I could paint something like that on that guitar im making, It'd look so SICK with those chrome pickup rings and knock off EMG's
Geetar is life you know you want to give it a go 😂
Honestly, Lee doesn't seem like the ideal match for the Jem 77P: he's not a tremolo player, so the trademark "lion's claw" and double-locking tremolo are meaningless; he swapped out the signature Gravity Storm pickups; and when asked about the price and overall opinion, he paused, like he's not super-enthused about either. His review to me summarizes as "it's a nice guitar, but it's not my favorite".
I was thinking to get Schecter Sun Valley Super Shredder FR but recently saw this beautiful guitar. This one sounds like more bluesy but definitely for the ears! Has beautiful tones.. What would you think about my choice between this?
And shecter repeater 6 fr is another my consideration.
Pretty cooolll man!!!!! Its sounds perfect to my ears. Which pedals you used???
Just picked up one of these for $899 usd! A little palm wear on the bridge but seemed pretty clean everywhere else! Super stoked to add it alongside my Jem Jr! I probably watched this 2-3 times before purchasing! Awesome stuff and a new subscriber here!
Bargain! Enjoy the new axe!
$899, wow...that sounds like an amazing deal!
Since I just started playing is there any reason why I should not get one of these???...I figure that anything that looks that good must be fabulous to play whether you are at the level of you two or 1/2 dozen lessons into my journey...
HochgeborenKlown if anything buying a guitar like this at the start of your journey will probably keep you motivated because you when you’re spending that amount of money you wanna get good! & also it’s a really comfortable guitar to play so it’ll definitely make learning easier. No reason at all not to get one ✌️ apart from restringing these guitars is a bit of a pain - definitely research up on how to restring a floyd rose style tremolo guitar before attempting it!
Madrid España. Es la mejor guitarra eléctrica y la más bonita del mundo
Recomiendas que la compre? La verdad es que me encanta.
Very intuitive. Cheers
Colin Taylor thanks for watching Colin ✌️
if you love this one... i would try to find an original floral... !
🌟
It sounds good but a bit thin, though possibly in the amp settings. Beautiful guitar that is for certain though not sure if this a good metal guitar, probably great for blues.
Made in indonesia or made in japan guys?
of course its going to have the best tuning stability - you've blocked a double locking trem 😅
Joey?
They dont give you that awesome case anymore. Now, they give a crappy gigbag :(
Really? That sucks! Especially for the price of the guitar
@@RobGalley yeah. I just bought it a few days ago but well... Is a great guitar anyyway.
Привет ребята? Made in Indonesia????
Красивое...))
Can you please tell which tremolo no did Lee used?
JPTFG - just play the f'king guitar 16:37
These guys are in love with each other! Yuck! Watch the eyeballing
I think that's called a Bro-mance... Maybe you're just jealous that no one looks at you that way?
handle lol
Pretty sacrilegious bro...
Tony Clifton to each their own!
Overpriced indonesian made guitar where you just paying the $1000 steve vai royalty 😂 this an rg premium $800 max
The rg premium is about 1244€ and this one 1400€. Not much of a diference.
"In depth review ...."
Hard to get more sketchy.
