  • A young, half-French, half-Korean woman building her own business in South Korea is no easy task. Sarah 수경 Henriet shows us a glimpse into her love for wine, understanding of multiple cultures & languages, and how she hopes to share French wine appreciation & culture right here in the soju capital of the world.
We took a trip down to Daegu in the middle of summer one cloudy day, and were given an exclusive look into one of Korea's native wineries, Vino Castle, where the older Korean gentleman winemaker gave us a taste of his Korean wine. Not only was this trip incredibly unique and unexpected, it shows us a beautiful blend of France and Korea - a blend that Sarah, CEO of Soo de Vie, recognizes very well :)
If you're interested in the wine from VINO CASTLE, visit vinocastle.com/....
It is in Korean, so we recommend contacting Sarah for ENGLISH, KOREAN & FRENCH speakers :) She will get you connected & informed about the best local Korean wines & her wine recommendations. GET IN TOUCH at www.soodevie.c...

What interested me was Sarah’s upbringing as a child, I think this had prepared her well to be a CEO. I also believe she is very capable of taking on the challenges for her company to get beyond the 1% of the market share.
Thanks Becky and Cedric (which I hope also had some wine) for continuing Sarah’s story. 🍷🥰

Mixed Koreans will play a larger part in Korean society as Sarah is demonstrating and could actually become Korea’s most valuable assets. I hope the path to acceptance becomes easier. I would love to try a bottle of Sarah’s wine!

@@ivyd5485 interesting you say that. In London there is a Korean Saturday school targeted at the Korean diaspora, and there are a few mixed children there. It's government backed. Also the fact that mixed Koreans can now have multiple nationalities (much more difficult for boys) will help retain talent and entice them to the motherland.

Sarah’s story is so relatable! It doesn’t matter if the comments are positive or negative. People still comment lol. But I’m glad her parents urged her to make others aware of her discomfort. So hopefully people learn to be more sensitive
She sounds like she’s grown into a very strong person and I hope Soo de Vie continues to succeed!

O just literally can know that how much she put effort for rid off accent when she spoke Korean. That is not easy pretty sure. I have lived in states almost 5years but still have Korean accent here and there. Spcifically not familiar words. But she sound totally sophisticated all three languages. Quite fascinating.

I just stumbled upon your channel and I am amazed. Great content !!!!!! Sarah has a lot of charisma and grace. Sarah had explained that she always had to prove herself and answer many questions about her background. I found myself in a place of work where I was almost the only English speaking American-- on my job on a cruise ship. Working in an office and having many Americans see me and hear my accent they couldnt believe that I was an American working on a cruise ship. It was very annoying and I felt that I constantly had to prove myself and justify and explain everything. I had to tailor make an explanation to Americans in my office of why I work this job, why Im here, etc, it was very exhausting and annoying. I began to feel that I didn't fit in or wasnt made for this work place for these reasons. An everyday cycle of having to explain myself really got to me. I always had to prove myself. I really meshed with Sarah when she explained her background and she said it perfectly.

    Well, I understand why some
    foreigners are annoyed by Koreans
    asking how they speak Korean
very well. But same time most
Koreans are not used to seeing foreigners speaking Korean very well.
I lived in America for more than fourty years, and I still feel America has a lot more rude people, not just curious, than
    Korea. And sometimes with
    a life threatening manner.
How many times I told Americans
not to make fun of me? I lost the count.
Your experience is not even close
to what we Asians experience in America.
Please cut the arrogant boss shit!
Nevertheles, I think you are a very
    nice girl.
