What if after i minus my burst and underburst and i have 8 and i divided it into 2 and i have 4, does that mean i will use one at the front center and 3 for the other side. Good afternoon ma
@@Nelo33 Hi Nelo, from your other video on bustier, I tot the remaining 3" should fursher be divided into two cuz the fabric is on fold...making it 1.5" ? Kindly clarify pls
Thanks for the tutorial. I always have some trouble making the bodice darts meet the skirt darts accurately. Would you advise taking the dart once both pieces have been connected? Or would it be possible to only dart the bodice and not the skirt? If the last one is possible, will the skirt fit be affected by it?
I usually encounter that same problem before but the solution is to not add dart at all on the front bodice of the skirt part. Rest assured it will come out perfectly. I no longer add dart on any front bodice of my skirt pattern. Hope this helps.
@@lindaekeyekwu7136 thanks, I will try this method. Also has it ever happened to you that you will draft a bodice and a skirt and when you finally get to put them together they don’t match? Like the bodice is smaller than the skirt ?
@Anna Ma I usually don't experience that; but I'm guessing that when the waist measurement is the same both on the bodice and skirt , it should align. I always cut on pattern paper first before cutting on my fabric; that way it always comes out well especially if I sew correctly using the exact seam allowance I added when drafting( I always refer back to my pattern in case I forget any allocated seam allowance)
Hi, I learnt you can use the exact space (inches) between the darts on the front bodice to mark your front skirt darts so they can align very well. Hope this helps.
Thank you sewmate for sharing this . It was last night that I drafted a pattern for this .. great minds think alike I tell you well explained

Please do I need to add 0.5 sewing allowance on the bustier part on my fabric?
If you are cutting directly on your fabric and your dart is 3.5 you use 4
