MADE IT! A little bit later than usually. But it was a lot of work this time. You'll see why ;) and we promise it'll be worth it! Thanks for tuning in 😍
.... you are right the scenery there is quite amazing ... can you imagine being there when some of those cliffs sluff off into the water .... that definitely was no longer an attached garage, wonder if it moved all at once or if it is a slow creep over an extended period of time ..... thx for sharing Mandy and Alex ... have fun be safe, save our oceans .....
I was a chef in a three star michellin restaurant for years. I love your cooking as well as the sailing :-) I'll share one of my favorite recipes with you. Chop potatoes and boil in salty water until soft, the smaller you chop, the quicker they cook. Drain the water and mash. Before you cook the potatoes, chop fresh herbs, like sage, oregano, rosemary. Or anything you have. Place those herbs in about 8oz of olive oil and warm the herb oil to extract the herb essence, but don't get hot, just warm and let steep for a little while. Then stir that oil into the potatoes to make a mash and season with salt and pepper. Delicious!! If you have any oil left, it makes a great marinade for sliced vegetables or meats, and fish. Hopefully you'll enjoy this, it's super easy and one of my favorite quick meals
Oh that sounds amazing! Mashed potatoes are my all time favorite food (Mandy), but I have never made it like that! Coincidence has it we are boiling them right now. Will try it out right away 😊😊 Thanks 🌹
@@seethelittlethings You're welcome, I got the recipe from a master chef from villenuve France. They are very healthy this way and taste even better the next day. They have the fragrance of earth matching perfectly to the potatoes
That was really impressive indeed eh! also a little scary for a sec. That was why I was at the bow on look out 😂 sometimes I am very grateful for our 1,6m keel!
When you introduce the episode with "welcome back", it personalizes the experience, like old friends catching up. You two have a remarkable gift for presentation. Well done... I'm hooked...
Thanks Colin! We'd like to think people like coming back and we see a lot of names showing up after every video (like yours!) and it kinda feels like friends catching up! We'll try to keep you hooked ;) cheers
Just beautifull, feels like u two are starting to fall in the groove with voyaging and recording. Keeps getting better and better. Greece with it's beautifull nature helps as well! Good work, keep em coming
Hey Henri, oh yeeeees, take a bit more time to do the west coast then! We only took a day. And find a day with little wind (or east wind), so you can get really close and see all those beautiful places. Have fun!
Hehe yeah know the feeling (unfortunately!). Still a beautiful place to be on a boat and have some vacation! End of the season, September / October weather is still really good, the water is warm and there’s often way better wind 😁
Amazing video Alex and Mandy! Great job and such a gorgeous place. Loved that blue water. Great job on the thumbnail too, very attractive and inviting.
What a beautful island, guys! Thanx for the video. We were already planning to make that our first stop after we are done refitting in Pylos, but now we know for sure :-) Happy groetz, Wim
@@seethelittlethings Yes, Anja, my wife, already saw several videos of you, so we knew :-) . She likes your style, because you guys are honest about your sailing, also when you are nervous about something. And yes, even after being in this "marina" for more than a year, we still like it here, although we will be VERY happy when the moment comes that we can start traveling! Happy zeilachtigheden!
Oh thats really sweet of you! We will most likely not get back to Greece this summer, but we do miss it. So you never know! We will send you a message if we do :) cheers!
You tried to fix your anchored boat in a position which will protect it from the swell. There is a very simple maneuver to turn the boat to any desired position while at anchor. For example, to point the bow exactly against the swell. Or to turn the cockpit in the shade. Or to let the cooling wind blow from behind through the cockpit and through the companionway into the ship: Tie a line to a link of the anchor chain directly in front of the bow and run this line very loosely past the outside onto a rear cleat. Now give more anchor chain. The boat will turn - as if by itself - in the direction in which no line is hanging. You can adjust the angle as you want it and stop at any point. It just depends on how much chain you give. To turn the boat back, all you need to do is pull in the chain by the anchor winch. Here, too, you can stop in any position you want. Try it out! Handbreadth Wolfgang
@@user-pf5xq3lq8i I am sorry, but I am what you can name "a retired sailor". After a really dangerous heart problem I had to sell my boat and learn to play golf instead. But you can be sure, that I have a hole lot of well proved tips for sailors after 50 years of extended sailing practice all over Europe, Atlantic and Karibik seas.
Peanut butter?????? ...and I thought only Americans would eat that s... Haha This was my first video of yours and I am hooked. I'm going to watch them all.
ooooh dutch people loooove peanut butter too, we just call it pindakaas (which actually translate into peanut cheese hehe). Enjoy the binchwatching ;) cheers and welcome aboard!

Hi Mandy and Alex, there are some extraordinary places to sail to,this is surely amongst them.Do you have a long term plan to where you are going after Italy? Are you going anywhere near the Canaries?Anyway,if I'm patient,I will find out eventually.Best wishesas you continue on your way🙂
Hi Wayne! We want to sail the Balearics next spring and hopefully cross the Atlantic next winter. If all goes according to plan ;) Best wishes to you too 😊
It is broken! Or at least we’ve tried a lot and we couldn’t manage to fix it. Alex finally managed though a couple weeks ago! So now we have wind energy 💪💪💨
I have been in the shipwreck beach and it is one of truest wonderful places. The bluest water and the white cliff and the blue sky is a very surreal experience and I have been to many places in the world The only other experience that came close was the highest sand dunes in the world in Namibia and I suppose the Antarctica might be a similar life change scene
Hi Troy, we are currently visiting family and editing videos. Just editing and working on everything that is connected to the RUclips Channel 😅, preparing for a new season of sailing, by setting up everything we need to keep going :) We knew it would be a lot of work to keep up with weekly videos, but somehow one keeps underestimating the amount of time it really costs.. It's a lot of fun though! Thanks for you interest :) cheers
Excellent. All what you show is superb. One thing: if I am not mistaken, you have no name? Or? Difficuly to find you... like, la vagabonde, delos, etc! Sorry if I am ignorant. Thank you

HI Guys, Thanks for all your interesting videos. This one scared the pants off me because you went into a potentially life ending situation. Check out the results of a search on RUclips “ earthquake Lefkada 2015” and you will understand. The coast that you are on in this video is one of, if not the most likely, area to experience a very large earthquake. You are both wonderful, so take care. Fair winds, calm seas and may all your knots be good. Happy 2020.
Hi Niall, thanks for the concern :) yeah we were aware of that! We did some research before and it is open for public again, so the immediate danger isn't that big anymore. Thanks so much for watching! Happy 2020 to you too. Cheers
