The fun factor is insane!!! Brilliant golf you have there. Also the reason I still drive golfs. Best of luck to the new year.
All the best to you too. Cheers 👍🏼
Got some serious skills (and balls) to go round that track at those sorts of speeds.
I think what seems to be overlooked is how good that car must be too to be able to withstand that sort of prolonged driving on the most challenging track in the world. 👏
Thanks Ali 😎👍🏼 yeah the car amazes me every time! Get so much abuse and then drives back to the UK keeping up with modern traffic on the motorway. Credit to VW
Nice
Cool video mate, well edited 👍🏼 looking forward to an engine upgrade (not that it seems to need it)
Thanks mate! Still on with the abf build. Been using your videos as a guide! So thanks 👍🏼
My favourite Golf 2 GTI..You could upload some more track videos,if you have them :)
Thanks Miljan 👍🏼 I have a hard drive full of them 😅
@@Jimladvw James my almost friend :), we really enjoy watching your awesome GTI.I'm a huge fan of Golf GTI and I probably know everything about every GTI, so it's so joyful to watch your videos on track
The balance between this great mechanical traction and the tendency to lift off understeer has been judged so well with these skills behind the wheel of that brilliantly agile yet stiff mk2 golf. For every golf fan I'd recommend revisiting a fifth gear video where a 16v mk2 golf was taken to TSR performance and then given to Tiff Needell for an absolute blast round the proving ground. ruclips.net/video/TGEfNOdAHHI/видео.html
I remember that well!!
Now my customers car 😊 Now has some custom spec AST’s and roll centre correction kit. Lovely thing on ITBs.
Great video James! Are you planning to go out again next year, there’s a few of us talking about it so would be fun to get a bunch of MK2’s there together 👍🏻
Thanks mate! Sounds good, let me know im always keen for a trip!
Good job😉✌
Very niiice
💓💓💓💓🎩
Do you do tourist days or private track days? And what make are your seats they are lovely 👌
This was a tourist day 👍🏼 they are Corbeau Clubsports, which I retrimmed
🏁🏁👍👍😎😎😎😎
I love this car! I Hope to buy one too next year! What is your top speed with gti?
You wont be disappointed!! Ermm it goes off the clock at 120mph and back round to 0 🤣 but GPS speed about 118-120mph.
Theres a picture you might enjoy in my build thread, taken on a flat out run on the autobahn

@@Jimladvw Hi, was looking through that forum, I love that you are going 16v now, the Abf is so linear I love it. Quick question, how do you think the balance of the golf would be once you go 16v? I mean your 8v was just right in terms of overall car balance. Just my 2c
@@zubairkathree9385 thanks, yeah it should be a different animal with the 16v but still n/a which is what i wanted. Balance wise again should be perfect as its a similar weight to the 8v, so should be no issues there. The battery and washer bottle are going in the boot as well
@@Jimladvw Awesome! Thats great to hear. Can't wait to see how it goes with the 16v. Maybe a differential upgrade afterwards. Keep it up. And will be looking forward to your next video hopefully with the new engine.
Nice mk1 mate
I mean mk2… oops
Does upgrading the cam effects the fuel consumption?
Yes 😃 couldnt tell you by how much, but i dont look at Miles per gallon, just smiles per miles 👍🏼
@@Jimladvw i’m restoring a 1.8 8v but as a student I don’t have a lot of gas money…
@@cornelium just leave it standard then 👍🏼 when I was a student I could get 45mpg out of the Golf on a run 👍🏼
Что по подвеске стоит?
Anyone know what steering wheel that is?
Its a Momo Jackie Stewart 👍🏼
@@Jimladvw thank you!
