Thanks Gabriel... but that's an easy sound to get with just about any drum. Remo Ambassador snare side, cranked, very tight, along with a Remo Controlled Sound batter, tuned very tight as well... that's it. That's a Pearl Chad Smith signature snare drum, 5x14, steel shell.

I am having issues with the timing of the slowdown into the ska section towards the end. How did you time it out. It doesn't seem to me to stay in time with a click.

+Ron Sissons I remember I had to keep slowing myself down. I find that I'm almost always rushing... I don't know if it's lack of timing, or too much excitement hahaha... but anyway, I remember during this filming, I had to keep slowing down much more than I thought was required.
+Matt Flacche Yeah. Im playing it in our band and they include the backing track (to include the horns) and it almost always trips me up. It's easier if I have the drum track in my IEM's to follow along. HAHA

Hi John! Thanks so much for listening. The clear head gave me that little extra twang I was looking for. I also like the CS black dot head, because you can get different sounds out of the head by playing it differently. If you smack it in the center, the sound is tight and focused. If you hit near the edge of the dot, you get more twang and overtones. I really like that about any of the Remo heads that have the center dots! Thanks again!

Nice work Matt - your drums sound wonderfully crisp as usual, and I really like what you did with this tune. It's interesting to hear the extended ending - gotta love those multitracks. How are you liking the clear snare head? You're getting a great sound out of it, but when I try them they always lack the punchiness I want from the snare.

Of course I would consider playing a Green Day tune, but I only work with drumless tracks... so if you know where I can get a high quality version of that song without drums, I would like to mess around with it :)
