I collect those also. The knife technique looks like it works great. I found if you freeze them, the soft ones will get brittle and crack with a hammer or in a vise. Always cool to see other ways of doing things, thanks for sharing.
@@68Eric86 yessir!!! 🫡🫡🫡 Thank you for watching! When I figured out this method, I grew to like these solenoids much more than when I was smashing them!
@@curtispederson9390 yes sir!! Thank you for watching! They're not hard to find and they're easy to process, I hope you get a good return on the ones you collect in the future! Happy scrapping!!!!
I do like your method here. Quick and easy. I use the snips to cut the top and bottom up the side to get that last bit of copper as well. I ain't leaving nothing behind 😂. For info those are solenoids. Usually used for things like a washing machine water inlet
@@ScrappingScotland selonoids!!!! Ding ding ding there we go! Was on the tip of my tongue the whole time I was recording and I couldn't get it out🤣🤣🤣! I'll have to try cutting them with some snips! That sounds like a good way to do it.
Hey scrap daddy I scrap them pretty much the same way except I use a sawzall Instead of a knife. I’m retired so when I have time I do them. May I ask what state you’re in because your prices you’re talking about for copper and brass are more like the prices I’m getting here in Southern Ohio. Just recently came across your videos. You’re doing a pretty good job. God bless.
@@KarlTribull-th3nl THANKS BUDDY! I just recently got into filming my shenanigans, I really appreciate your watching my video! Today I just reached 200 subscribers and made a new scrapping video dedicated to that! I'm in Amarillo, the Texas panhandle!

@@RustydriftRC yessir! Thanks for watching! That's how I did them before, smashing them open, didn't think of freezing them, that's a great idea!

I collect those and used the smash method. But i tried a couple this way, and it is way better. Thanks for the tip.
