I've always thought it would be fun to get one of these to learn about basic electronics. After watching your video, I think I'm going to search one out. Thanks for the inspiration!

Best bet is one kit like this so you don't have to find all the components and a great book called "Getting Started in Electronics" by Forrest Mims. That book made me an electrical engineer and I surpassed everyone at college because I tinkered. The book can be read and understood but combine it with the parts in this kit and you have a definite solid foundation.

Thanks man, I always wanted one of these as a kid but never got one. Thinking about getting it for my child and myself to work on and learn, sounds like good time.

Also get Forrest Mims book called "Getting Started in Electronics". The book is handwritten and explains the electrical components instead of just hooking up wires between numbered points.

I've never used one of these before, in fact it's a lot to take in visually and almost intimidating.

Elenco actually makes something along those lines called "snap circuits" that seems more popular than these spring terminal labs these days: www.elenco.com/brand/snap-circuits/
