- Set out on a short trip to Penang for Miyasaka Series Linear Lines competition, we didn't have too much in mind, just packed up, kept the camera rolling and see what we can get on our skate-adventure.
The drive from Subang Jaya to Georgetown, Penang took us about 4 hours. We left at about 8pm at night and reach at the event venue at Padang Kota Lama somewhere around 2am. Soon as we reach we got out of the car and skated the course, after an hour or two of skating and chilling by the seaside, we scouted around for the cheapest place to stay the night. Lucky for us we found a hostel called Friendship Hostel right beside the event venue in Padang Kota Lama I think we each paid like RM 35 for two nights, not a bad deal for our broke ass. The event was good, smooth sailing to say the least, I was kind of impressed with the level of skating that went down that day, a good self reminder that Malaysia actually has quite a healthy and strong skate scene, skaters are improving, getting more technical and gnarly.
On the next day, Aqil, our homie who was most familliar with the skate scene in Penang, having skated the island all throughout his uni years, took us to Hin Bus depot to shred the miniramp, Hin Bus is a rad place I have to say, sweet little ramp the the corner of an old bus station, now surrounded by street art enthusiast, flea market, restaurants, and bars, the vibe and ambiance is something different for sure.
After that we hit up Ampang Jajar for some more shred, I'm done writing this description, just watch the video and free free to ask questions if you have any, just another skate advanture, I am so ready for another one.
