Just added an aprilaire e70 dehumidifier to my home in Hawaii I made a platform with 2x4 and 3/4 inch plywood near my hvac unit. The unit is sitting level on 4 inch concrete blocks on the plywood I have the intake and exhaust ducted with r6 insulated flex both more than 10 foot of run. When it cycles on we can hear the vibration resonating from the attic thru the wall. I am going to try and add some 1 inch foam pads under the blocking the dehu is sitting on. I'll let you know if that works.
Can I add a splitter to my e70 dehu? I have an 8" rigid wye sitting in my spare room at the moment but don't know if that's viable or if I should just get a fan and blow the dry air around the corner of my L shaped crawl. I was thinking of somehow attaching the wye to the collar, and use one of the outlets & ducting to run around the corner while leaving the other outlets of the wye pointing straight. Fan or spitter the better route?

Hey I could really use a crawlspace dehumidifier recommendation. I had some water intrusion from an hvac condensation leak and a gutter pushing rain water towards a slopped corner of the foundation. Those leaks resulted in 74 RF and 16-17 wood moisture. Once I take care of the leaks i want to conitor the RF and install a dehu. What kind should I get with a budget??
While they're not the cheapest on the market, you definitely get what you pay for with Aprilaire dehumidifiers. They also have an amazing warranty as well. We have been installing them exclusively for several years in our clients' homes and have been very happy with them!
I was thinking, Why not suspend the dehumidifier from the joists instead of setting it on the ground, but I guess that would cause more vibration into the subfloor...
Casey - A good HVAC supply shop should be able to help if you're going to suspend it. All types of vibration dampeners are available from them, including rubber and neoprene. To increase isolation, you can place some on the hangers and some under the dehumidifier.

Thanks for keeping us posted, I hope that makes it quieter.
