I don't remember of the top of my head (3 AM right now) but I remember reading that using the recording feature (writing, not listening) was hard on the onboard storage. This _may_ apply only to newer Freon radios like the 8000, and your 7k has an SD card slot, so I forget which uses which. My point is, research it.
@@rarity5865 I’ve been looking for this radio for a while, very expensive you obviously got lucky with this find, you got a good radio + Something to de-code and learn of its past use.
All of what radio? You can't use encryption on amateur frequencies. Commercial stuff is mostly DMR these days but only about 15% of it is encrypted by my estimate. Public safety is all on TETRA and fully encrypted.
Hey dude. I am from the UK too. Currently eyeing up used apx6000 in vhf range. How do you get hold of cps? People say its free from moto, but you must be in us i think?
Thanks. And how do you use it yourself? Analog readers only or do you have any p25 in your area? I am based in London and there are only multimode repeaters around me that are licensed for p25 but I am not sure if they allow that mode. I also see you have a sepura in the background, do you experiment with tetra too?
I don't do anything amateur radio related with these radios, I have a few privately licensed busines radio systems on various modes that I use as a glorified chat net with friends, yes I use tetra now and again mainly when round exploring abandoned places so fewer people can listen into our comms, great for airsoft too as the opp can't tune their baogengs to our comms either :)
Nice. I have a XTS5000 in VHF. Lovely radios. I was looking for a Apex 7000 in the UK but no luck. All the best!
Wow, all of your radios look practically brand new. Nice job taking care of them 👍

@@rarity5865 does anyone in the UK actually use P25? I know that all of the police and other departments use Tetra.

The person who sold me the radio provided a copy of the cps
